    Lachlan is a second degree BJJ black belt. He is the 2017 IBJJF No-Gi World Championship Bronze Medallist, 2014 Australian Jiu-Jitsu Grand Prix Champion, multiple time Pan Pacific and Victorian Jiu Jitsu Champion. He has represented Australia twice at ADCC, the most prestigious submission grappling competition in the world, represented Australia three times at the World Pro Championships and competed at the Eddie Bravo Invitational where he submitted former ADCC Champion Rani Yahya.
    In 2014 and 2017 he completed a clean sweep of the black belt division at Australia's most prestigious competition, the Pan Pacific Championships, winning 4 gold medals. In 2016 Lachlan was ranked as the number 12 lightweight BJJ competitor in the world. He is also the 2016 Australian Freestyle Wrestling Champion.
    He also works as a physiotherapist and in 2016 completed his PhD.

    About Head Instructor Lachlan Giles:
    Lachlan earned his BJJ black belt in July 2012 and is the 2014 Australian Jiu-Jitsu Grand Prix Champion, multiple time Pan Pacific and Victorian Jiu Jitsu Champion and has competed at 4 World Championship events.
    In 2014 he completed a clean sweep of the black belt division at Australia’s most prestigious competition, the Pan Pacific Championships, winning 4 gold medals. In 2015, he competed in the ADCC Championship and later reached the semi-finals of EBI5.
    In 2016, Lachie won the ADCC Asia Trials and earned a spot to compete at the 2017 ADCC Championships in Helsinki, Finland.
    Outside of BJJ, he works as a physiotherapist, and is currently completing his PhD at La Trobe University.

    Lachlan, have been working this and have had a ton of success. Went for it today and my opponent back stepped into saddle right when I sat up. Have you run into this issue? Should they be able to get to saddle while I control the leg? Thank you

    Late to this video maybe? Lachlan, thanks for all the amazing content. I wonder if you have changed the theory on the single leg takedown after your adcc 2019 training.

    Lachlan, how do you prevent the kimura on your arm thats posted on the mat? thanks! really enjoying your videos

      You have to be ready for it. They have to dive at it to get it, and as they dive if you move your arm they will sweep themselves. If you're late you get caught.
