    This video has almost half a million views. Nobody would look this up for fun which means you’ve helped 500,000 people replace their batteries. Me included. Thanks!

    Bless you for posting this. My husband normally does all of the repair work around the house. But two months ago he had a stroke and is still in a recovery center. The battery light was flashing on my Luxpro thermostat, and had been for weeks before I thought to check on TH-cam for a how-to video. Thanks to your advice, it took me all of 1 or 2 minutes to take the cover off and replace the two AA batteries. And that included the time walking to and from the kitchen to access batteries!

    You my friend are a superhero. Ridiculous that I’ve been relying on a space heater. Started to get inkling some thermostats took batteries but couldn’t get face plate off old Honeywell in rental unit (& don’t feel great about repair people I don’t know in my space when I’m not there). Got it off (bottom screw), ran for AAA batts, all done, cranking up the heat and embraced the old wall heater. Heat = good. Thanks!!

    Thank you! So simple of a fix. I was checking out videos on how to replace a thermostat and saw some have batteries. Then found your video next. Very helpful! The house is cooling now. Whoop!

    Thank you so very much. As another lady said below, my husband used to do this and I never knew how. Now that he's gone it's all up to me. After you did the one I have I went in the hall and went to work! :) It worked just as you directed and I now have new batteries and the heat is on. Bless you. :) Merry Christmas too. :)

    I’m frustrated bc my thermostat won’t come off with any of these techniques, but you have a very wholesome and calm voice.
    I needed that, thanks ❤️

    My Honeywell looks like yours, but doesn't have the slide-out battery compartment in the top-right corner. The entire thermostat unit pulls directly off a base that's attached to the wall, similar to some other models you showed. The problem is that the first time you do it, it's hard to know how to hold it, how hard to pull it, and which direction to pull it. Once you pull the unit off the base, you'll see the batteries running end-to-end along the top of the unit inside. Thanks for the overview of models you have there. Battery change was successful. - Bill

    I've got a Trane XT300 thermostat. (Its old...no manuals online.) The REPL BATT indicator has come on. It contains 3 AAA batteries. I replaced them with new but the REPL BATT indicator remains on. The batteries I removed also test fine (1.58V each), the same as brand new AAA batteries. Is there a coin cell battery on the circuit board and if so, how do I get the back panel off the thermostat to access the circuit board and possible coin cell battery? Or perhaps a "non replaceable" rechargable battery? I see one screw holding the back on, then 3 screws used to adjust various functions, but I don't really want to remove those as I don't understand how they are set and don't want to screw up the functionality of the thermostat.

    Glad to have found this video on battery replacement for these units that I'm sure some of us (Chicago Controls units) would like to throw out the window. Thank you for the demo though, it is appreciated.

    there are no end of videos about how to replace batteries but none about how to clean corrosion when a battery has leaked. I can't see the corrosion but i've been told that's why I can't program anymore.

      Replacing batteries on my American Standard thermostat

  • @NorthJerseyFooter
    @NorthJerseyFooter 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    My boiler is acting up and I think it’s the thermostat. I changed the batteries and now the display says ”battery” which according to the manual means the thermostat is running on battery power only but I’m getting voltage at the wires. It never said low battery. But I figured I’d just replace the batteries. 🤔

My Mother came in yelling at me and explained why!!! 😬😬😬
