I tell people, if you ever get a root canal go to a endodontic dentist who uses a microscope. A microscope will show you if the canals split. A regular dentist does not use a microscope and if you do a root canal with a regular dentist it wont work if the canals split. An Xray or one of those magnifying glasses dentists use wont show if the canals split. If your canals split and you have a dentist do the root canal with out using a microscope, the Root canal will not be successful. I can tell you, even my dentist admitted, he wouldn't be able to do the root canal correctly if the canal's split. Dentists don't want to tell people this. I only found out about this, cause this happened to a friend of mine, who got a root canal from a dentist who didn't use a microscope and the root canal failed. He had to get another root canal from a endodontic dentist who uses a microscope. Then he had to get that same tooth re-crowned. That cost a lot of money. So if you need a root canal, make sure you go to a endodontist.
@ Dan Livni are you a microscope salesman or AAE rep? A microscope helps but it does not reveal any branching beyond a curve in a root. You have cut and pasted this same paragraph word for word all over TH-cam
@@Noitisnt-ns7mo This guy Dan posts the same comment on every video about root canals. It’s a little suspicious when he does so . That being said he makes some claims that aren’t true regarding microscopes when it comes to seeing branches in canals. The truth is that branching often occurs beyond a curve on a canal. You can’t see around a bend in a canal. There are some great Endodontists that have been practicing for years without a microscope with amazing results. It’s certainly a wonderful tool to have at one’s disposal but I would still rather have a root canal from a highly skilled experienced Endodontist without a microscope that a so so Endodontist with a microscope. Others useful tools that help are a cone beam scanner, but skill is number one. Also many straightforward root canals such as front teeth do not benefit as much from these specialized instruments because the anatomy is less complicated.
so as I sit here with ice on my cheek after a complex, and very intense extraction of a root canal tooth, I can tell you DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GET A ROOT CANAL! I will make this long story as short as possible. Had a root canal 8 years ago, it failed after 4 years because I have TMJ and clench. Crown loosened, decay began and I had it retreated. another 4 years and on xray they could see a shadow indicating resorption or decay. It was decay from the crown once again, being microscopically loosened from clenching. Made appt at oral surgeons to have it extracted as it was a premolar, (tooth 29) and long root, and sat on top of my nerve. The extraction was intense and I mean intense and my oral surgeon is nationally recognized, and highly skilled. It took him almost 1 hour and he took breaks because of my jaw (tmj) they had to reveal my jawbone, drill away bone to take it out in tiny piece by piece because root canal teeth shatter like glass when you try to remove them. The older the root canal the worse it is. I had intense swelling and pain in my jaw. They did bone grafting also. I will NEVER get another root canal, I will opt for extraction and implant if possible. But no more root canals. I have one more in my mouth and I assume it will shatter as well when the day comes to extract it. Be careful guys, the root canal will fail eventually and it will be a very difficult and painful experience for extraction and healing. take care!
Hi dr i have question, my tooth is cracked, it's not paining neither sensitive to hot and cold so normal filling will be sufficient than root canal Need suggestion
A cracked tooth normally has to be removed. It just depends on where the crack is located. I had one that could not be repaired and one that needed a crown. The one that could not be repaired was pulled and I got an implant.

Hi Dr. Is it normal for teeth to hurt 5 days after RCT?
I'm surprised I thought this video would suck it's actually pretty informative

Question.
Do you need a root canal when you have light annoying sensations upon the side of your jaw?
same, i feel that too.
dude same that's why i'm here lol
Same
So what’s the answer
same that's why I'm here
I'm gonna receive my RCT tomorrow.
Hope it's not too late.
how it went
i dont have any symptoms and my dentist says I need one

Fillings shouldn’t hurt after getting them done let your dentist know what happened
Same thing happened to me and guess what i needa get a root canal 4 yrs after the filling so maybe go check with the dentist bc this pain is so bad i cant wait till my treatment in a few days
I'm scared to go to the dentist because its expensive and my family is tight on money ☹
Save up money
Dental insurance is not that expensive.
Don't put a price on your health, it's always worth it to go
It will only cost you more later. Catch any issues early when the solutions are often simple and much less expensive

I avoided a root canal, and am now researching. See your dentist if you have a concern
