Considering pairing this with my precision drive clone! After playing it, I'm not paying nearly 7 times as much for the same exact thing. Even though I want to support artists and companies, the official pedals are grossly overpriced to insulting levels.
These clones sound amazing for the low price tag. I got the Demon OD 808 and TS9 and I was impressed with that one. I see this one joining soon. If this continues I might not ever buy an expensive pedal again. lol Maybe this will help bring those ridiculous prices down?
I've had the green Demon Tube Screamer and started to buy the new red V2 with the diode switch but I passed on it. I did just order their King of Drive pedal, though. Can't wait for it to get here. They're about $60 on Ali Exp. and then you have to wait 3-4 weeks so I ordered one from Amazon for $8 more so I didn't have to wait so long. Mosky Audio also makes fantastic pedals. I have their Keeley C4 Compressor clone, Golden Horse(Centaur clone), and just ordered their Ch-Vibe chorus & Vibrato pedal from Japan. That Ch-Vibe actually has an optical vibrato, where it's using a flashing LED and a photocell thing that detects light to control the rate of the vibrato. You can also make an optical vibrato pedal like that fairly easily, as well. I started to but I went ahead and just bought this Ch-Vibe instead.
Been using one of these for a few months and, every time I think “should I cough up and buy the real deal Friedman?”, I take another listen and think “why spend the cash, this thing sounds ace!” For the £36.87 I paid, you can’t go wrong 👍 (I also have their original Tube Screamer and the BB+ Preamp pedals, both are also excellent clones)
I think Friedman should cut their prices! 🤣 I could almost buy 5 Demonfx BE-ODXs for the price of one BE-OD so, unless they’re 5-times crappier (which they’re definitely not!), it’s a no-brainer 😁
Got one coming along with the dark glass pedal (bass). I have the dual gun od which is great. Sorry, I don't have money for these crazy priced pedals, and they make a sturdy pedal with decent components.

I bought this and holy shit... This pedal is versatile af and sounds killer. Build quality is pretty sweet as well. All at a fraction of the cost. I bought the "keeley compressor" as well and it's awesome.
Sounds awesome! I can't believe they copied exactly the layout and everything else. I'm noticing that Demon fx did the same with other less usual pedals: Horizion precision drive, Jhs Angry Charlie, Keeley mag echo and compressor, Analogman King of tone, Xotic BB preamp, Mad professor auto wha, Darkglass b7k... As you can see not the usual classic pedals knock off ala tubescreamer. Pretty interesting. I'd love to hear this pedal thru a cab sim pedal of some sort tho.
Yeah I’ve not got one unfortunately I can’t quite make my mind up whether it’s ok to copy stuff this closely but I guess it must be legal I have an EVH ect so I probably won’t use it only for back up

@@lovecraftmusic8717 AMT pedals have two outs. One for clean channels and one for the amp return. I think this is necessary because the clean channel pushes a lot of highs and therefore the signal must be tonally different.
I really dig your vids but I think they could benefit from you using a dedicated voice mic to hear you more clearly and normalize the audio between that and the playthrus. Keep up the great work!
I think it sounds close as far as I can tell. It's hard to tell for sure without being in the room with both of them for comparison. Can this one be run at 18v?
Hi Neil - so this cheapo pedal means bypassing the pre-amp on the expensive EVH amps - so it sounds better than the amp drive? Why pay for expensive amps or am I missing something? 🤘
Yes your missing something I would never use any pedal over or instead of my pre amp because like you say my pre amp is awesome,however for guys wanting a col tone from a cheaper head you can put this type of pedal through it to bypass the pre amp 👍 If you have a good amp then you don’t need anything other than maybe a boost

I've bought the original version of so many pedals, so many times as I've built, sold, rebuilt, sold again and now building a pedal board yet again, that I have no shame purchasing knock-offs. I have an AXE FX and never felt shame about their modeling of the pedals, amps and cabs they use in their products. I don't think it's any different when it comes to pedals. The pedal prices have gone through the roof over the last 20 years. So much of it is hype. It's a game. You are still going to sound like you when it's said and done, regardless of the gear you have. It's about you, and your creativity and imagination when it comes to implementation of that gear in producing sound. It won't make you a better player. But it will without a doubt inspire you. If you have $200 to spend on pedals, don't buy one. Buy as many as you can that have good reviews based on how they sound and feel. The more options you have, the more inspiration you have at your disposal. Don't worry about the arguments for or against. Most, if not all, O.D. circuits are based on original designs from 50+ years ago that have been copied and modified by current builders. Some are extremely successful at the marketing they've done and the products they have developed. But for them it's not some moral high ground of circuit building that they can stand on and claim as their original idea with no inspiration, or cloning or copying of existing drives. And of course they are in it for the money. The biggest of what were once considered "boutique" builders have made substantial fortunes from their companies and now have the ability to R&D new and inspirational gear of their own design. But they started out with idea's of other builders. Just like Demon FX, Moskey, Donner, Mooer, etc... who are big Chinese companies indeed. But as they R&D new creations as well, after their own successes, they also branch out and build with new ideas. Those ideas, in time, are adopted by other companies like Boss, Zoom, Fender, etc... and then tweaked by what were once boutique builders like Strymon, and what were , and are, super high end manufacturers like Eventide. Ultimately, it's just a merry-go-round of ideas that everyone pulls from. And as quality improves, and availability is greater and price points drop, we as consumers finally get a win by being able to acquire some of the more desirable sounds that have been established. Demon FX, 68 Pedals, and other smaller builders who don't have a huge overhead, or don't need to make massive profits the way owners of American companies do, allow the average guy to build an amazing board for fair prices. It's nice not to feel gouged for once to get something I want to have. These little metal boxes filled with pennies worth of components are one way to stay in the game. I don't care where they come from. As long as they sound good, work like they should, stand the test of time and leave me with money to save for a new $2500 American Made Guitar (ridiculous, but oh well) I've had my eye on for awhile.

Kind of useless, these pedals. Clone or original. I own a rather expensive AMT K-2 pedal. It sounds great with a TS in front and really like an amp. But you need a good poweramp too make all of these shine. So, I have one, the JCA22h. But also its preamp will beat a pedal. That is somehow, why I don't buy pedals anymore!

I always wanted a Friedman pedal, but I found it too expensive. I thought these more complex ones would never be cloned, but sh7t I was wrong. Now, they are there. I kept my AMT pedal for one reason, though: I can lay my 3 pedals out in front of my sofa (Behringer TO800, AMT K-2, Joyo Analog Delay) and control my whole rig without standing up and adjust the JetCity. The poweramp has fixed volume and just presence. I use to sit quite far away from the amp! You don't pay taxes? In my country every order, more than 17 Euros or so, could end in having to collect the item from the customs office.

I liked the possibility to use 3rd party IRs and actually wanted to record with 0 latency into my THR10 since I don't like its internal amp models. Wasn't bad, but every amp model had a nasal mid frequency in it. Another YT user also criticized it for that. The GE300, I'm pretty sure, is totally usable and with more resolution and realism. The GE200 wasn't there and unfortunately I got seduced by a video of Ola, L0L. I hated it and fortunately sold it.
When you play your “clean” tone with the pedal off, PLAY LIKE YOUD PLAY METAL. It doesn’t help to play completely different style with the pedal off than the pedal on.

Things like reverb and noise gate circuit as are expensive but overdrives aernt so I do feel OD pedals are robbing us blind a bit

@@InTheSh8 the Mooer stuff is pretty good for the money I used the ge300 live once but usually I use a minimal set up boost amp reverb delay
