Digital IDs were supposed to help us do things like recommending a presidential candidate. In 2021 we know they either do not exist or do not work when offered which means basically that if you know about a company offering people digital IDs that company should be told to stop doing that. In my book, a digital ID is a fake identity number sold to you under an unrealistic goal. I recommend that you guys create legislation prohibiting companies from offering people alternative or digital IDs.
I assist people w/privacy issues & have no time or interest in making videos myself. Glad this is up, I can share links with people who need the info. I like how the videos are put together. Great job!

You can create a online identity episode. Ad, cross browser persistent cookies, incognito persistent cookies, favicon tracking etc I'm Indian, and yes my adhar card can be used to track my bank, telephone, travel and soon medical data. I use multiple aliases online to stay private lol.
You shouldn't worry as much because of incognito persistent cookies or favicon tracking. Google incognito: Google incognio mode is basically just normal chrome, where your search history isn't logged and most cookies are blocked. All this however is managed by Google. Google can thereby decide which cookies are blocked and which aren't. Google does of course let some of its own cookies through. You shouldn't really be worried though, because you can just install a cookie-blocker-extension (often also found in adblockers), that blocks ALL cookies. Favicon tracking: Favicon tracking is a very niche thing, which isn't used by advertisers or the government (atleast to my knowledge) It does sound scary though, that even after clearing your cache, they could still track you. However I do believe that this got fixed to some degree in most modern browsers. Firefox is an especially good alternative to other browsers, because of it's high security standarts and anti-tracking defence.

the problem with authenticating by something you have is you need to have something first. If everything requires you to have something to register you effectively become blocked from registering. This also makes anonymity really difficult. These days you're lucky if a service isn't at one point in the chain or another forcing you to verify with a IRL phone number. You can't even make an email address on most services anymore without it.
I always love finding new and hidden channels like this one, it feels the same as finding underground music, and yes thank you TH-cam, I want more of this!

First time viewer. Subscribed. I will say that this is the hill that I am willing to die on. I will not comply with digital ID or central bank digital currency.
In Estonia, they have a e-residency program which enables entrepreneur from anywhere in the world to get a digital identity card to establish a company in the EU. I've applied for it for my business and it's pretty cool. Something to look into.
Not only do we not need a digital identity, we do not have one to begin with. Digital identity is one of those nonsensical ideas which should be ditched. We call them bubble dreams. A digital identity is an airy bubble dream in the sense that you can not create any other ID than the one you are born with. That is your ID. If you try to create any other ID, that is not going to work. Not only will your bank thwart you off any attempt to create a home bank where you can see your business history online, you are going to have to rely on the only other alternative you have to your native ID of birth - and those are your credit cards. The problem with digital IDs is that fake digital IDs which can not work, shall not work and will not work because there is no other current alternative to your ID than your ID and those are distributed to you under the promise you can use them to do things like recommending a candidate who wants to run for office in politics. People are naturally skeptical of digital IDs because they have every right to be skeptical, and this is why Switzerland voted this bubble dream away in May this year. Because they had no idea what to do with an ID which does not exist anywhere but in theory only. Thanks for the video! Kind regards from Ásgeir in Iceland.
Good overview. But way too less criticism involved. Especially the case of data breaches of the DID databases is enormous. Hackers will then have full valid data and can harm everyone effectively.
Government is the biggest threat to the individual. I'm much more worried about what the government will do than the worst of private criminals in human history.

Document-based identification and online credential schemes are a security problem. Systems based on public key cryptography can give us self-sovereign identification with security and privacy and at very low cost. Simpler is better.
Where do you even get this knowledge. What kind of college and courses does one need to do. Where can one read more about this. I would like some answers please. Thank you very much.
Honestly just google things you are curious about. Get a general overview, then research a specific sub-topic in more detail, then when you get even more comfortable look for primary documents released by corporations/governments instead of reading summaries by other people. I promise you a university is the last place you want to look to learn about cutting edge decentralized tech.

@@JamesQHolden (Good) professors involved in fundamental research may have a staked interest in keeping up to date, but your average college lecture will likely not be taught by any of these people, and if it is the lecture content won't have any of the cutting edge info that you seek, and if it does it's info you could have easily found on Google and saved $60,000. You don't need college for the vast majority of topics, this isn't 1990 anymore.
Using Your ID on different services are like using username and passwords at the same time. And When the hackers get these information, then you're doomed and I think it's actually easy to trick that scanner that prompts you to go head bang with a deep fake though.
Hmmm not sure if you were for or against by the end, although I think most people will go blindly forward with the idea that it would be so 'convenient'. And if everything is on your phone, what happens it if is lost or stolen? I have just one word - China!
So in order to get into my accounts some thief has to either cut off one of my fingers (I won't tell you which one) or steal both of my eyes, as seen in the movies...
