      On House Hunters a couple bought a one bedroom condo for $800,000 and paid HOA fees (or whatever they are called) of $1900.00 a month. The condo was on the 4th floor so the view was buildings and the HOA only provided a doorman and gym. THAT is freaking insane!!

    • @jakes5530
      @jakes5530 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@irisheyesofbelfast that is why you rent in NYC, you get all the amenities, HOA, other fees usually included. Some monthly fees for newer condos are equivalent to taking out a second mortgage.

    I get it the view is cool but it doesn't make sense, If you travel a lot why spend so much on an apartment that you're rarely in?
    I would get something cheaper so I can travel more. It's a hip, stylish and cool apartment though.

    In a place like that, I think it would be cool to buy a night starry night projector and it lights up your room witj a bunch of dots resembling as stars. 🙂 It doesn't cost very much, but it'll be a cool thing to have.
    I've got one, but I don't live on my own yet, and the first place I'd probably get would look similar to this apartment, but I'm thinking of moving to South Florida of course because it's tropical and paradise.

    I know this post is about your apt and i really like how you set it up but I have to say there is something very real and warm and kind about you as a person. That is what I loved most about this post. Especially the shout out to your mom. Sooooo sweet. Either you are the sweetest guy ever or a great actor. Back to the apt though I like the touches like the light and the bike mount. I like the bed as well. I don’t usually like those kinds of beds but it fits well into this apt without looking awkward.

    5 years ago after college I had to make the choice to pursue my career in finance in NYC or Miami. After a lot of deliberation I went with Miami. I've been able to buy multiple properties since then and generate cash flow / build equity. I sometimes wonder what would have been in NYC but hearing about rents up there makes me feel great about my decision. The opportunities are undoubtedly greater, but at what cost?

    I just accepted my dream starter job and am planning on saving up some money after being unemployed for the past 3 months and then moving into downtown St. Louis, MO. I am planning on saving about 5-6 months in order to get me in a place to where I can move in without going into debt and have a good amount of savings. A tiny studio in a downtown high rise is one of the options I'm giving myself, and I am rewatching this and Cody Jensen's studio tours to inspire me on how to furnish a possible tiny studio to make it cozy and a place I am proud to come home to. I'm ready to continue the minimalist life.
