The giant Santa wall display is made of papier-mâché done by the old King Cole company Canton Ohio that piece belonged to me.I sold it to a dealer in adamstown Pennsylvania for $750.00 in around 1999.I paid $125 for it originally.I did quite a few repairs to it and I can see all the areas that I touched up the collection is very nice but I think it’s very odd mixing in brand new junk made in China mixed in with beautiful early turn of the century 1920s 1930s Santa Claus it should be displayed through a time. Like the earliest up to the newest it should not be mixed all together like that. it really is a hodgepodge mess it’s a shame that such nice stuff gets lost in the mix

The big one that he said is so weird the automaton is made by Harold Gale started in the late 40s through the 60s making dolls and store displays for department stores that were electric the one opening the toy chest is also made by Harold Gale They’re pretty easy to identify as many of them had the baloney curl style beards painted a certain way and their velvet suits

The one where he says gotta love that 1970s blow mold it’s actually from 1948 made by the Noma company. And it’s actually not really blow mold blow mold was a waxy tight plastic that is a type of celluloid ( same stuff they used for children’s Halloween masks 1950s through the 60s)actually used for its great response to detail in a mold and it’s translucency for lights behind it

I am by no means an expert in historical representations of Santa, and there was no placards or info there so I probably made some guesses in the video. I appreciate the information, I did not realize they were making those celluloids way back in the 40s!

The lighted Santa is called a " flat back" and is very pricey. I've been to the museum and it's absolutely amazing 👏
