IRT 7th Avenue Line: Redbird 2 Train trip to East 241st Street (8/11/2001)

- Redbird R33 2 train ride (lead car 8996) from Flatbush Avenue to East 241st Street via 7th Avenue Express on August 11, 2001. Due to the 90-minute VHS-C tape constraint, some conductor announcements were skipped so that I could finish the trip without using up the tape.

My second brother just turned 20. Next month on Sept 11,my father was going to be 41, that day literally change everything. My heart goes out to the victims of that tragic day. Thank you for the upload video. I remember theses trains and rode on them. In 2002 my first SYEP going back to Brooklyn from the Bx Zoo. I remember that I was blessed to rode on both the redbird 2/5 trains before they retired. The IRT lines are not the same without the redbirds I dearly missed these trains

All 2 Trains will Be Making All Local Stops Between 96TH Street and Chambers Street in Both Directions on September 17, 2001 until It was Restored Back To Making All Express Stops Between 96TH Street and Chambers Street in Both Directions on September 15, 2002.

At that time (2000-2001), the Franklin Avenue Shuttle already ran R68s. No chance for me to do that.

@@chaohwac do you have videos of the A train from far Rockaway to 207 st I'm talking about the old videos you know when you get to Fulton St Broadway Nassau that was a old station right before you go to the end of the platform there are the lights from the ceiling that are still in the station and you go upstairs and you see it

kevin james Yes. R38 A train round trip between 207 Street and Far Rockaway. Parts of C train both Brooklyn and Manhattan bounds.
Regarding the C train videos, the R38 one was between 42nd and 168th Streets, while the R32 one was between 168th Street and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets.

Nope. At that time, all the R62As on the 6 were converted to full-width cabs. Even if some of the R62A cabs on the 1 were not converted, I was not comfortable videotaping because the train operator could easily see the passenger(s) on the railfan window from the cab door window. That was why I did not videotape from the R62As.
