    Curious why you are destroying their dams. Doesn’t look to be a risk to homes or farmland, and beaver dams help ecosystems by attracting other animals to the water. So unless it is causing flooding to roads, homes, or farmland, I would leave them be.

    • @FowlorTheRooster1990
      @FowlorTheRooster1990 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      in the long term the ecosystem is more important than removing a beavers work, these beaver dams would certainly help the farmland when the run has ceased for days

    I came here from your second video to find out why it was desirable to remove these dams, but I didn't see it. Are these ponds causing a problem? Seems like a wilderness area where it might not be a big deal. Why is this work necessary? (Not doubting you, I am just curious)

I ask you, in the name of the Almighty, that you catch the beavers live and release them somewhere safe where they can continue doing what God intended. Bless you.

    I think it would be better to cut up the fallen trees BEFORE ya open the damn up. Its safer for you in less water and very slow moving water. Less chance of your saw ending up in the water. Less tangles for you to trip on when the damn floats down more debris.
    Your doing it right!! Don`t worry about how soon the water comes through. Watch all the old timers start at the backside low pulling out the sticks. They keep going until the water is pushing them away, then use the rake. Stay safe!!

    So...no one ever taught you how to dismantle a beaver damn by hand I take it. Hint, do what the beavers did in the reverse order. Start from the top down. Most dams can wind up with a significant gash and weakening of the structure in under 90 minutes. Even faster if you aren’t doing it alone. 🙂
