If you say “I want it all wispy” they may understand this to be a graduated wolf cut, when what you wanted was a shag. Lots of pictures are probably best, and then the question: can the hairdresser even do the various different cuts?
I prefer a haircut in the salon, because my hairdresser is honest about hairstyles that are flattering and those who are not. I fully trust his opinion and experience.
I’ve never had a salon cut as good as the cuts I’ve given myself. The first YT video I watched was perfect and it’s only gotten better since then. I know what my hair does and what I want and it’s free. Ponytail haircuts are for cutting hair at house not for hairdressers, they should know how to cut hair without them. You did the ponytail cut incorrectly which is why it looks weird.
