Dude you are an absolute life saver (hopefully) 🤣 I’ve been dealing with a slight oil leak for a few weeks now coming from two engine bolts and I’ve been scared to take it in because 1. I fear the full SC project/ UpMap will void any kind of warranty 2. Last time I had it in for the major oil leak they had it for 3 months waiting on a gasket from Italy. I could almost tighten the clutch cover and the flywheel cover bolts with my fingers they were so loose and that’s exactly where the oil was coming from so Im praying that’s all it was! Never would of thought it’d be something sooooo simple , thank you my friend your videos are much appreciated 👏🏽
You're welcome brotha! Each dealer is probably gonna treat your mods differently haha. My warranty was about to expire soon anyways, so I was like why naht
I heard something about a recall where Apriia were actually replacing engines and restarting customers warranties. Something to do with con rods I think.
Whats crazy is i just bought a Tuano 660, and only have maybe 200 miles on it so far. Went to detail it today and noticed a loose bolt on my side cover... AND THEY WERE ALL A LITTLE LOOSE, didnt have a torque wrench but just snugged em up and ripped on it for 30 miles, and no more leaks
The quickshifter issue is actually really common. My tuono does it all the time. basically you "botched" the first shift and just need to cycle the key for 30-60 seconds
Thank you for the update. When you were first told they can't proceed further, did your heart skip a beat? Did they specify exactly which bolts were loose? Curious to know how the bike runs with the next tune.
Oh for sure! At that point I was like "can't proceed further....because the engine is done for??" Didn't get to speak to the repair tech, but service guy said he believed it was the engine case bolts
@SK_XIII one thing I noticed is normally I just plug the upmap to do an update, when bike is off. And then take it off before rising. For contact I have full mivv exhaust, and gp shift with tune from upmap. One day I decided to leave the up map device pluged in the bike to see what data you can see that it provides on app. And I noticed straight away that the quickshifter auto blipper no longer works when the upmap is in the bike and riding. Moment I took it out and started bike it worked again
That's a bummer but it could have been worse. Glad you don't need a new engine! And it will be really interesting to hear what you think of the SC Project tune. Thanks for the update.
I have a 2022 RS660 and a couple months ago I found oil all around my sump pan lower engine areas. I was worried but started off by torquing all bolts to spec on the oil sump pan and clutch cover and that did the job. I've been riding hard for a couple months without any issues. Love my bike, but these parallel twin engines vibrate a lot and are vulnerable to screws coming loose. Just yesterday my side mirror bolt fell completely off. I'm thinking I need to put loctite on every bolt as a solution.
Glad that solved the issue for ya! And yeah, I think Aprilia knew what they were doing when they put loctite on a lot of bolts/nuts 😂 It's just such a hassle for when you need to take something off
I don’t know if your UpMap was from Gabro… But you should upload his tune regardless of what exhaust you run. It definitely unlocks everything and gives you 100% of what the bike is supposed to give you. Highly recommend!
This isn’t well documented but after they updated your ecu and reverted back to the stock tune could they still see an overwrite log on the ecu from the flash and does it even matter at all since it technically says aprilia race tune or is it just entirely dependent on how good your relationship with your dealership is if that even matters to considering the manufacturer will ask ? It would have been nice to have that process documented.
Like aprilia specially the rs v4. But so expensive. Whats your advice like planning to buy rs660 or zx6r. Love the rs660 but is it true that there’s alot of issues about the brand? And how about the maintenance?
Glad it all worked out and your back on the bike!
thanks mate! Glad it was a quick and easy fix
$200 for peace of mind is not a bad deal!
I like to keep telling myself the same thing 🤣 Jokes aside though, totally agree!

Glad to hear that the issue has been resolved. What year is your RS660?
Thanks mate! Mine is a late 2021

Yeah dodged a bullet there! Money spent at least gives me some peace of mind 😅
They don't call it a stealership for no reason

It is the Gabro one! Really excited to try out the map he made for the CRT exhaust
Thanks for the update
Yessir! Just glad it turned out the way it did 😮💨
Curious why the $200 charge since the bike was still under warranty

These bolts are notorious for loosening over time. IT WILL HAPPEN. I put a little blue locktite on mine. Has not returned.
Big brain move mate. Dealer needs to warn buyers of this when they buy the bike 🤣
I SHOULDNT happen
Those bolts suppose to be tightened under varranty !!! Is your varranty expired?
Not yet, still have a month left haha
A lot of people report similar issues with the bike... various leaks... wonder if you still own / ride the bike, almost a year after making this video
Computer glitches are common in cars and bikes especially in heat, cold or humidity
Yup! Just glad these things only happen once in blue moon haha
Rockridge Two Wheels is trash. So glad I sold my RS660 and wiped my hands with that bike and the whole situation of warranty.
Ooo I hadn't gone there for this job, but did get my first servicing done there (before my mods). Guessing they weren't mod friendly...? haha
Was gonna go look at a Tuono 660 factory at Rockridge. If I do buy who should I have service it? Or should I ditch the idea of an Italian bike?
@@dionj67 I sold my RS660 and bought an R7 and am much happier.
Thanks for the reality check. They sure are nice looking bikes. Too bad.
How much do you pay for insurance?
I pay ~$63 usd per month
200 for sleeping pills are a little bit pricey
