    I suspect a lot of the calories burned is actually done by your brain. The brain is the single largest consumer of energy in your body, and the level of concentration required to ride safely is immense.

      I initially suspected the same thing tbh....BUT it's actually not the case. Increased concentration/focus only leads to a marginal increase in energy expenditure. The brain spends more energy on the autonomous functions of your body that you don't really think about

    Riding motorcycles has always been my main outdoor activity for most of my life.
    It can definitely keep you in shape if you do it often.

      Totally! And there are a lot more benefits to it than just weight management to 🙌

    It’s an interesting one. If you’re sitting on a Goldwing crunching miles in a straight line it’s bugger all. However, when I was racing in the Australian Superbike Championship, I’d lose on average about 2 kilograms of weight after a race. Yes this was basically fluid however as the heart rate was maximising out it burnt a heap of calories. Nice topic and explanation. 👍😎🇦🇺

      Nice to hear your thoughts on this since you used to race! At that level of riding, you are definitely getting a workout in 🙌

    I'm stuck in a plateau after 10 months weightloss going from 300lbs to 230lbs, 6'1, 2 months ago started lifting so could be in recomp. Eating 2000-2200 cal a day. Just bought a crf450l and go for my license in two days, hoping riding trails offroad everyday for a few weeks is the extra couple hundred cals a day burnt to break through this stagnated state. Cool video

      Sounds like you have a solid plan! Trail riding imo is probably more intense than track riding, although both are high intensity. Gonna be shredded in no time 💪

      Bro I did the same thing. Went from 315-215. 1 tip for your plateau...take a couple days to a week off the diet. Don't go crazy but eat a little more to try to retrigger your body to start losing weight again. Kinda like yo yo dieting..but not that extreme. Do that and keep working hard..then get back on your diet...you should push through that plateau.

    Almost unrelated but this video reminds me of when I was a kid and my brother's PE teacher wouldn't excuse him from class to race motocross. Said "twisting your wrist isn't exercise". Street riding is much less physically demanding but I can see how it burns more calories than sitting on the couch. Great video topic.

      @SK_XIII  ปีที่แล้ว

      🤣🤣 motocross would be burning so many calories. Sucks the PE teacher didn't know better. Appreciate the comment mate!

    Great data SK, I completely agree that the metric for calorie burn on the bike is stated quite low… the 3.5 to 6 levels make way more sense to me.. btw I got married at Sanborne skyline park, left before the bridge under construction. Love the roads in the bay and how fast you are on them. 🤙 keep it pinned!

      Appreciate the support brotha! And yeah, the higher levels are likely the more true rate haha. Ooo I always wondered what was on the left side. I see cars going there sometimes, but never knew what was there. The more you know 😅

    When I ride I make sure I eat and drink an extra portion of anything because riding requires strength, getting tired and weak while riding it's dangerous.

    Any progress on figuring out the mirror vibration issues on the rs660?

    • @SK_XIII
      @SK_XIII  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No sir. The EU ones vibrate less so you could get those, but you lose the turn signals. Could niuy an upmap to transfer the signals to the headlights, but that's a pricey option

    • @SongJLikes
      @SongJLikes ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SK_XIII - Is it legal in the US then, though, with the signals-in-headlamps route? Or is it like the fender eliminators; dealers have to sell them a certain way but customers can mod them?

    • @SK_XIII
      @SK_XIII  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SongJLikes I guess technically they'd be illegal in the states. But if a cop saw you, if you at least had some turn signals that are visible, you'll likely be ok

    The carnivore diet is a great option for losing unwanted body fat with most people losing 2-7kg per week on average

    • @SK_XIII
      @SK_XIII  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      😱 losing 2-7kg sounds dangerous haha. Definitely too fast of a rate. But agree, high protein diets help with fat loss and muscle retention
