Hi Amber - I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for this idea!! My daughter just had her ileostomy surgery last week, and dealing with everything and all the new products can be so overwhelming. I bought her a shoe organizer just like yours, and organized all her supplies for her. It is awesome!! She loves it too. You have been so helpful!!! 💗

Hi Connie, I agree the learning curve can be overwhelming! I'm just 6 weeks post surgery and starting to get the hang of everything. These videos are a HUGE part of building my confidence to return to the "world" in about 3 weeks. Best to you and your daughter!

@@terioo995 thank you Teri! I wish you the best as well! It’s been almost a year now for my daughter, and she is an ol’ pro now 😊. She feels as though she got her life back again - free of the pain and illness she had for so long. I hope your recovery is swift and easy!

Very clever solution - thanks for sharing! My only hesitation is that I really don't want to see this stuff all the time, and I don't have a good door for them. Actually ... I just realized that I might have a GREAT door for this! Wow - thanks so much!

Hi Amber. Thanks for the video. The hanging storage was added to the bathroom a day or so before my surgery (June 25). My WOC nurse visited for the first time yesterday and remarked: "Wow, overachiever - great job!" so that is 100% thanks and kudos to you!! I hope God continues to Bless you in all that you do in your service to Him!!

I love the idea of using a shoe organizer! I keep my supplies in one of those plastic drawer systems that hides neatly in my bedroom closet.

What an absolutely BRILLIANT idea the shoe organiser is for ALL ostomy bits and bobs. EVERYTHING you need is easily stored - and it being transparent, you can quickly see every item. You'd soon remember what was in each pocket....and reach for it without thinking!! Much better than rummaging around in a box or in a drawer!! Thank you SO much hunni bunch for your GREAT videos. I'm definitely getting a transparent shoe organiser tomorrow!!! SUPERB!! xxx

You can also buy a 3 drawer rolling cart at Target, put your supplies in there. When I do a bag change, I roll it up to the bed, put my supplies on top, make sure I have everything, and do the bag change. I use Q-tips to spread the adhesive paste, and have a pan of water on hand to moisten them. Don't use your fingers to spread paste, it's sticky and needs to be washed off. Top drawer is for current bag change items, other 2 drawers hold extra supplies. Roll it away when you're done.

I love this idea! My shoe organizer is coming from amazon tomorrow. I couldn’t think of a better way. This stuck with me all week. My problem is my bathroom is the tiniest ever! Five by six...maybe seven? I was thinking of hanging it on the shower curtain rod next to the wall but that might be too cluttery because it’s the first thing you see when you look toward the bathroom. Towel rack on next wall. Bathroom door is an accordion door because a real door just takes up the space when it opens into the bathroom. I can also hang it on my nearby bedroom door but that’s too far away from the sink and the tub where I do all this so it will go on my next barely available wall between the side of the commode and the wall. To me, it’s better in the bathroom in case you forget something. Thank you for your videos. They are very helpful!

That's a great idea, Banjo. I don't have a bathroom door so if I do buy a shoe organiser I can stick it on the wall opposite the bathroom. Before watching this I was going to use plastic containers or ziplock bags.

I bathe, remove the bag in the tub, sometimes output still comes out, and then lie in bed to put a new bag on, have some toilet paper handy in case you have output come out suddenly when you're working
