In the hypothetical case that Edward, before his death, could step into the future, I bet he'd be delighted to find out about his grandson, I bet he'd be stoked to find out he's a sailor as well. I can only imagine all the things he'd like to teach him, and the stories he'd tell him. I can only imagine the sadness and devastation he'd feel when finding out Haytham ended up growing up as a Templar.

Any of the Kenway members, under good writers, could easily flesh out a trilogy like Ezio but let's just be glad Ubisoft hasn't tarnished that family line with their current developers and writers.

It would’ve made no sense and obviously it wasn’t fully planned ahead, but it would’ve been cool if the ship passed down to Connor was the Jackdaw. Imagine if Edward had given the Jackdaw for the Assassins to use, so Connor had a little piece of his grandfather when he eventually went to Achilles for training and had the ship restored. Again it wouldn’t have made sense with the way the story was done but it’s a nice thought

IIRC Haytham told Connors mother everything about himself. It’s what caused her to fall in love with him and what caused her to fall out of love with him.
Achilles knew Adewale and trained with Ab Tabhai, both of whom worked with Edward, who later became an Assassin himself. There's no doubt he told Connor something.

I think black flag should have been told by Conner instead of by Abstergo. It could be Connor telling the story of Edward to his children so that Edwards legacy and story as a redeemed man and Master Assassin would be passed on through the generations
Ac3 took place after the events of ac4, ac4 came before 3, ac4 was around 1600’s and ac3 obviously takes place in the American Revolutionary War. It goes Edward > haytham > Connor, grandfather son and grandson. Edward is long dead by the time ac3 starts. We don’t know how Edward dies but he dies in his 40’s

I feel you man, when this game came out I was really sad I couldn't play it myself because of the trash PC, I've watched a lot of walktroughs on TH-cam of this game. It was my favourite (it still is), even tho I couldn't even run it. When I got decent enough PC this was the first game I played on it. I still replay it from time to time even today, it has special place in my heart for some reason :D. I wish you can experience it sooner or later in playable framerate, game is masterpiece.

Im pretty sure he already hear story about edward from those two and told connor about it but considering the fact that edward was not really well known even in ac rogue (he was only mention once) im pretty sure he learned it from his father journal.
I will say the naval combat in AC3 was so tedious to play and black flag improved on it so much, it made it actually fun and really fleshed out the system. Can’t say the same for Skull and Bones tho

Haytham did spend time with Connor's mom for a few months. In fact, it wasn't him who left - she learned about his Templar allegiances and sorta kicked him out. I forgot what exactly happened, but I remember reading it in the companion novel.
