EMS like a lot of fast paced professions that have a high degree of responsibility some people get burned out. And that can happen to anyone seeing some of the calls that we see. I know for me personally, if someone mentions, what's the craziest call you had? There's a handful of scenes that automatically pop into my head.
What's not okay is providers who make fun of new people, don't remember how it was when they first started out or even worse bring their personal drama to their ambulance work. I have always been a big on separating work life from your personal life especially when working 911 EMS.
In this video, I breakdown a poll that some of my original students answered back in 2020 on what makes a great EMS partner. I can tell you from experience who you work with really makes or breaks EMS work, try out different shifts and try to find 3 to 5 partners that really enjoy working with it will serve you incredibly well.
    Be great,
    Evan, The Paramedic Coach

Ive got my 3rd try at the NREMT 12/2/23 and I'm using your NREMT prep course to study. This darn NREMT is so hard, but your study course gives me a lot of confidence!

I’ve had lots of bad Paramedic partners as a Basic, where there’s been no respect, and no communication, I’m pretty reserved, but I’m open to learn, and grow, but a lot of times these older medics only care about their own butts. Best partners I’ve had are other EMTS. Lots of burnouts in my EMS system. Unhealthy toxic overworked people. Can be really discouraging.

Ironically, fire department have the worse attitude when it comes to EMS calls. The AOs seem fine

I work for an ambulance service and for some reason many of the EMT’S and Paramedics I work with do not want to communicate and get frustrated when I don’t know what they’re wanting to do for the call and\or patient.

Hey Coach! Quick question for becoming an EMT into a Paramedic. Am i required to take any vaccines for the job, or can i file for exemptions? Thanks

You wanna be a paramedic but don't believe in vaccines ? 😂 A lot of vaccines are gonna be mandatory. And if not they will make you sign a waiver that they aren't liable if you contract. Like measles, mumps , rubella also TDAP tetanus diphtheria and pertussis
