Best TGS video yet? I think so. As an American that only gets to shoot in the UK on rare occasion, almost all of my own most memorable sporting moments have been on walked up days . I quite agree with Carter that it's a particularly special and gratifying approach. Thanks for the excellent content!!
Well done lads. This tugs at my heartstrings, and brings me back to my walked up day there with Andy, Ryan, Dave, James, Jo, and Tara. Such a great memory.
This might be the best film you've made thus far. I absolutely loved it. Not sure how many times I've watched it now, but it hasn't gotten old. This is one my wife is willing to sit and watch with me.
“At home a friend will ask, “Been bird hunting?” You will say that you have, and when he asks,” Have any luck?” You will think of what you have held in your heart instead of your hand, and then answer that you certainly did-without a doubt.” - Gene Hill
What an amazing film, possibly my favourite you’ve done so far😮. what an amazing day. and who would’ve thought Conor had such great working German Shepherds I have never seen before . Nice to see the game being eaten. The Partridge curry looked delicious. Hope to see more of it in your films. I have to say I felt a bit emotional watching this. It reminded me of the great day I had at Gwysaney . I have told my friends about what a great time I had, and I’m hoping we can all make it for the end of next season. I have to agree with Simon, possibly the best shooting I’ve ever done
Wonderful video, that's real bird hunting, what me and my Lab Charlie or my Springer Rosie used to do on a frosty weekend here in Canada. Great to see you out there with friends enjoying it all, thanks for sharing.
This is what shooting is about. Walked up days are the best. If shooting is to survive we all need to be shooting like this and say goodbye to big driven days. Outstanding content - really enjoyed watching 👏👏
Utter brilliance. Thanks all for your efforts (on all your video’s), this is next level, incredibly well put together creating an immense spiritual feeling. Captivating.
I’ve just finished my first game season having come to shotguns later in life and this pretty much encapsulates what it’s all been about. Brilliant video
JC my friend you are living your best life!!! I am not sure how I missed this one. WOW an awesome day in the field with friends and dogs doesn't get any better than that. The scenery is second to none. You capture the special event better than anyone, I can feel the love of the moment in your videos. Well played JC
One of my favorite films you've put out so far. Always great when you're out with Simon, and I have to say, you have THE BEST cameraman of any TH-cam channel I watch! Loved seeing the SxS and the 28 bore.
By far the best shooting video channel out there. Production, narration and action are second to non. This was the most epic by far. In the words of John Denver “thank god I’m a country boy”.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Wonderful video👍 Nothing better than a day out like this, a few birds, your mates, working your dogs and plenty exercise. Driven shooting is reverting to the sport of a priveledged few as it was in the beginning. Walked up sport in my mind is the best but do your maths, it will not replace the income from driven days, no keeper would tolerate continual disturbance anyhow and how many peg men would even contemplate it! I can see a day such as you experienced fetching a premium in the future ( rightly so) the guy in the street, back to the pigeon hide!
Good to see Jonny is still able to work hard for his birds like us Americans. I was starting to think all these beautiful driven hunts you film might have spoiled you a little too much
My thoughts exactly, still waiting for Jonny to come to the West Coast and do some Chukar or Mountain Quail hunting. I hate to see what he thinks of the Sierras if he calls those hills mountains.
Bravo!! Absolutely the top of all field videos. I thought TGS had shown us some great videography a few months ago but this is tops. Great production, great scenery and looked like a great time. A moving 20 minutes that speaks to your sole. Bravo!!!
Those were some great shots both with the camera and the gun, well done. To me this is what all hunting should be, wonder what the public opinion would be if this was all hunting was. To me this feels so much more inviting than driven days, people working together for a common goal not just being driven around to sit in place and wait for someone else to do the work. Ending it with home cooked game was class, a friend like Jonny is worth his weight in gold.
To me it is about the sharing of the hunt with those with you. When I am out in hunts like this it is more about the friendships built. I do like getting the game but enjoy most the memories made. Great video as always. I have lost my hunting spot here and long for the day I will be able to find another.
Wonderful video; my favorite yet! As an American who hunts like this way exclusively, I understand what you are describing across the pond after a day like this one. Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."
My hat is off to all of you! Great content and camera work! This is without a doubt, my most favorite video you have put out. Do consider more like this!
What a lovely film - everything good about shooting, in a nutshell. I'm never happier than out on the hill with my old, old 16 bore sxs and a tatty old game bag. Everything gets carried home and goes into the pot. Magic
Fantastic day and well presented with excellent photography. Sadly walked up days are few and far between and most youngsters now turn up on the peg having missed out on the experience and enjoyment of such a day. Thank you, a great video..
This is the closest thing in the UK to pheasant hunting in Montana. We typically walk 6 to 8 miles per day in rugged terrain hunting very wild birds over Springer Spaniels.
Still waiting for you to come to the States on West Coast. Grab, Simon and head out here to do some Chukar and Mountain Quail hunting. You will appreciate what you call "mountains" there compared to the Sierras or the Cascades. Another favorite film, keep up the good work.
Exellent content! Very, very well done👍👍 As a Swedish gunsmith and mostly a moose and deer hunter this is stuff I’m probably never going to experience but you makes a really good job putting me in the moment!
Days like that give the best "bath birds'. A bath bird is the one you think about when soaking in a hot bath when trying to warm away the aches and pains from the hunt. The best you might still think about years later.
As much as I love the British way of doing things, dressing up to hunt, the fine side by sides, beautiful countrysides, I wouldn’t trade the American way of hunting birds for anything. If you ever want to visit Wisconsin in October I’ll show you how we hunt ruffed grouse and our woodcock. I think of it as the epitome of the gentleman’s shooting sport. Hunting behind beautiful English setters for a bird that presents ridiculously hard shots in the thickest cover you can have, incredibly dense young aspen trees mostly, with beautiful side by sides on chilly October mornings, the leaves golden and falling rapidly, it’s just as good as it gets. I managed to shoot 33 ruffed grouse last year in almost sixty days of hunting and my setter became a machine in her third season. That walk up shooting could possibly be looked down on in favor of driven shoots boggles my mind. Ruffed grouse hunting is the peak, it’s 90% aesthetic and 10% masochism, you go out on beautiful days with a beautiful shotgun behind a beautiful dog with a beautiful bell tinkling on their neck through gorgeous cover to pursue a beautiful bird that gives the best dog grief and if everything goes right you will probably see for a second or two and hopefully you’ll shoot it but probably you won’t.
Fantastic video. As a (new) Canadian upland hunter, I was watching it, thinking, "Yup, this is a lot closer to what we do, except that it is actually wild game, and many of us do it on Crown land, rather than private land". The idea of driven game shooting is, well, quite foreign.
Absolutely stunning camera work! One of the best videos I've watched, well done to everyone involved. It look like an awesome day and the dinner after 👌🍻
Johnny instead in hearing more about the 28 bore with different loads, I have just started shooting a 28 for a bit more fun and have only really shot the hull 25g and 23g cartridges, it would be nice to hear more about the cartridges sizes for the 28 bore as you said you had better results from the 16g.
Excellent, been a follower since the early days, up there with the best video so far, anything with Simon innit adds another level, well done John and highest regard for Sacha, Why aren’t you on TV??? Thanks from Australia.
Wonderful videography Jonny/Sasha, beautifully edited too. One thing you were short of Sir to complete your experience, a dog to retrieve your quarry and to save the embarrassment of scrambling under the brash and a dry cleaning bill….!!! 🤔😉Top stuff 👌👍👊
I've watched most TGS videos, but this one is another level. Truly inspirational, almost spiritual.
Thankyou Jeff
Well said
I’ve watched this episode at least 10 times on my big screen, wifey says what are you doing, I said hunting with my mates lol
Agree
Let’s all appreciate the excellent camera work here. Camera guy made me feel like I was walking the hillsides. Great job.
He is the king
This channel should have a million subscribers.
Agreed!

To be honest I don't think U - Tube videos of this genre come any better. 👌
Well done lads. This tugs at my heartstrings, and brings me back to my walked up day there with Andy, Ryan, Dave, James, Jo, and Tara. Such a great memory.
Great cinematography, great editing, perfect music and continuity. This presentation should set the standard for outdoor shooting sports.
This really is the best channel on youtube. Thank you for the constant quality content you put out.
This might be the best film you've made thus far. I absolutely loved it. Not sure how many times I've watched it now, but it hasn't gotten old. This is one my wife is willing to sit and watch with me.
Just brilliant, just perfect. Well done Jonny and Sacha!!

This is what I remember pheasant hunting being as a kid. We walked forever, and the day always ended too early. Great video!

Beautiful little film, superbly put together 😊 Well done....
Utter brilliance. Thanks all for your efforts (on all your video’s), this is next level, incredibly well put together creating an immense spiritual feeling. Captivating.
Me and my dad have said next season walked up is the way to go. So much more of the outdoor experience. We both can’t wait.
Super fun - walked up has always been my favourite. Challenging birds, good company and a partridge curry to finish - lovely.....
This was one of the most enjoyable movies I’ve ever watched. Felt like I was there. Thank you gentlemen
I’ve just finished my first game season having come to shotguns later in life and this pretty much encapsulates what it’s all been about. Brilliant video
Growing up hunting a massive wheat farm was incredible. A UK drive would be quite an experience

Not jealous at all. Good film of a great outing.
Jonny and Sasha- that was absolutely beautiful.

Quite possibly the perfect day out.
Lovely, we here across the pond are having a Youth and Ladies Day Pheasant hunt (17/18 February) always good to see the young out and about.
Videography, narration and music are pure art! Well done!
To echo the other comments, the quality of this video was unbelievable. Such a pleasure to watch, keep it up guys!

Everything about this is
“ Superb “
The day .
The cinematography .
The “ Vibe “ .
Wonderful and inspiring video, great photography and camaraderie, a perfect day and advertisement for Wales, well done M. Jonny!
Well done, 😊from your American Friend's
Fantastic day and well presented with excellent photography. Sadly walked up days are few and far between and most youngsters now turn up on the peg having missed out on the experience and enjoyment of such a day. Thank you, a great video..
Great video and so nice to see more walked up content. I had 60+ walked up days last season and would take them over driven days every time.
This is the closest thing in the UK to pheasant hunting in Montana. We typically walk 6 to 8 miles per day in rugged terrain hunting very wild birds over Springer Spaniels.
Beautiful scenery, dogs and good friends. It doesn’t get much better mate! Thanks for the video.
Our pleasure. Thankyou for your support
Nice video, i enjoyed watching it. You guys have fairy tale hunts. From the colonies where we push the bush with old pumps
just lovely! It brought back alot of memories, good job.
Splendid, brought back many memories, well done JC.

This is beyond TV production level! Amazing job to your production team!
Glad you think so! Thank you

Beautiful shoot, great vid, and delicious looking curry. Think we'll get a "cooking with carter" series?
Not sure the world is ready for more swearing than Ramsey!

Outstanding production, truely captivating
One of the best you have ever done!
It absolutely is the way it should be going and the way it should have stayed !!
brilliant, a real joy to watch.
Amazing. Well done gents.
As he stands there with his Teo Snipe “they’re very difficult to shoot. You’ve gotta be very good with a gun.” 😊

Wow that was beautifully done
Just starting to get in to the sport and loving the videos!
I’m available for the next one Jonny… 😉
I’ve got a few classic doubles that haven’t been out in a while. I think I should take them for a walk

Brilliant.
Awesome video, I do love a good walked up day 👌🏻

Thank you!
