Thank you for going to Washington DC to fight for all of us who are affected by WEP and GPO. I have been emailing my Texas Senators every day. I have also been calling and emailing the other Senators that you have suggested. Thank you so much.

Thank you so very much for fighting for all of us who are negatively affected by the WEP and the GPO. I am hopeful that we can get those 2 bills repealed. I am a retired Texas Educator and have been emailing my Texas Senators every day. Heard from Senator Cornyn, but never heard from Senator Cruz... which is typical for him. I have also been calling and emailing other Senators that you suggested. A great big "Thank You!" to all of those people fighting for us, including those in the U. S. Senate who are in favor of repealing these 2 unfair policies. I told them, they do not need to give the wealthiest people in the country Tax Cuts, when they can use income from those taxes that should be paid, to fix our broken Social Security System and correct these harmful policies that hurt so many people who have worked and paid into the Social Security System, yet are not allowed to get back all that they paid into it when they retire.

Don't forget, it's our money we paid into the system that we should have had all along! Like retirees in other profession. Stop penalizing those who Americans who stepped up to teach in public schools.

Thanks for all this effort, Tim. I've left comments on 15 Senators' FB pages or contacted their offices just in the last two days, plus put out personal FB requests for friends and family to call. My new senator Adam Schiff was sworn in on Monday, so he definitely heard from me several times since he voted for this in the House (I'd been contacting him for three years). Earlier in the week it was a different set of Senators to contact -- plus earlier in the month reaching out to Senators Cruz and Cronyn. Lost track of how many House folks I contacted in the months leading up to that successful vote. It was such a shock on the day of retirement to find out that what I expected to receive from SS would be cut due to teaching public school in Texas. And while there, I had my paycheck cut when Cy-Fair School District got hit by the illegal Robin Hood law. The Superintendent and school board took it from teacher salaries -- a $9000 hit to my salary thereafter. Can you believe getting clobbered twice for being a public school teacher?

HR 82 just passed…347 YEA votes! Now…S 597 needs a VOTE…to repeal: WEP and GOVERNMENT PENSION OFFSET….asap! Currently: 62 Co-Sponsors. . My deceased husband PAID IN....and I DON'T get ANY of his larger benefit! I taught Title 1 Reading to impoverished kids in MO. and KS. I need my SURVIVOR BENEFIT as a widow….right now!
