Star Wars The Force Awakens UK Press Conference in Full (Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley)

- Director JJ Abrams and Writer Lawrence Kasdan joined cast members Daisy Ridley, John Boyega (albetit late!), Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong'o, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford at the UK Press conference for their movie Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
Press conference highlights included working with practical effects, the George Lucas legacy and spoiler culture. Harrison Ford was also asked about the Han Solo spin-off movie.

After watching this press conference, I am convinced Adam Driver is a genius. Harrison seems pretty entertained by his answers too.

***** Don't you think I know that. I've only seen him in GIRLS and in one other movie (shit movie btw), and in that movie I felt as if it was Adam Sackler hvaing got a role and not himself. To me he will alwas be Adam off of GIRLS, that's the best TV character I have ever seen.

I know that it is not allowed to photograph the eiffel tower...it is prohibited to photograph the eiffel tower at night for commercial use..as well as the Louvre and Notre Dame...also it is not allowed to photograph some persons on this world.. the Queen for example...but what I mean here is...if you are a guest at a TV show...you won't get out your own camera because you want your own video or photo of the moment...make your photos before or afterwards but not during the recording...

The beard and mustache do make a difference and also his hair in the movie makes a difference, however keep in mind that this movie was filmed over the course of about 2 to 3 years, I believe, and although his character is very important, Kylo Ren did not have a lot of screen time. That being said, Adam probably got most of his filming, without the helmet, done in a year
I've been searching the internet for an interview in which Carrie and Harrison were together. Thank you Lord finally. Those two are so funny and they make each other laugh all the time

"What kind of mindset did you have to get into to capture the right feeling of Star Wars?" I don't mean to sound this as a bad thing, but basically to do it, they took a New Hope, erased some of the nouns, and replaced them with different ones to create TFA.

I fail to see how the battle station alone made the whole movie feel like New Hope. It didn't do that at all for me. I think you're just repeating a trendy thing, cause that's what everyone else is saying.
+Capital Wonder The battle station alone? No i meant the droid containing information (in New Hope it was about the rebels, in TFA it's the resistance) sent to a desert planet (Tattooine vs Jakku). The main character who is strong in the Force but doesn't know it until he/she tries (Luke vs Rey). Cantina scenes (Mos Eisley/whatever that cantina Maz runs is). The master (Snoke/Darth Sidious) with the apprentice (Kylo/Darth Vader), who ends up killing their old loved ones (Obi-wan/Han Solo), while infiltrating the base to save someone (Rey/Leia). Destroying the Death Star/Starkiller base with the X-wing fighters (this is what you pointed out).
I don't mean to say I didn't enjoy the movie. I definitely did. And I can definitely distinguish why this is not just a New Hope. But ultimately, you can't deny that when you look at it from a certain point of view, you'll see all the things that are similar.

I personally never made that connection. Saving people is another recurring theme that happens in Star Wars because, well, people get into trouble and need help.
Not a ripoff. People comparing the two are the same kind of shitheads who compared Neo to the anti-christ. It's easy to find similarities if you're trying really hard to, but it takes a lot of stretching and bullshit.
The interesting thing is, I never hear people saying Force Awakens = New Hope anywhere other than the internet. This makes me wonder if it's just an obnoxious form of internet trolling when people make this ridiculous comparison, so much so they will never say it out loud in public.

It's not about the droid, but about the information and the similar scenario that both droids were in: containing information vital to the rebel/resistance.

Well... there's also another plotline, which is that the main character GAINS strength throughout the movie/series. Not that they already have this power created by midi-chlorians in their bloodstreams. What I'm saying is that the characters' backgrounds are very similar: they don't know themselves so they don't know their power.

Anakin Skywalker. Not Darth Vader. Obviously Darth Vader didn't love OBi-wan. And love is a strong word. But he was his mentor. Kylo Ren's father was Han Solo, so they harbored a connection. Sorry, my choice of words may have made this confusing.

That's not how the Force Works...He wasn't even Force Sensitive...He might be returning as Part of Flashback scenes. but somehow Episode 8 must be a Prequel to episode 7...if the world was fair...episode 7 left so many open questions...why is leia no jedi..luke trained her after episode 6, where are all the other jedi luke trained? how did this orange crap character get lukes saber...I guess the filmmakers did not even know themselves..han asked where she got the saber and got no answer...I was so pissed that nothing fit to the earbook series of 13cds that was released the last 3 years to continue after episode 6 and lead to episode 7
