    It feels soo bad to lose an aloe plant that we took so much care of. 😢 What are the reasons for this leaf rot and root rotting. Is it the improper watering??

    • @TheAloeVeraGarden
      @TheAloeVeraGarden  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's a bacterial disease that causes water-soaked spots in aloe leaves and when it spreads through the insides of the plant, the leaves turn mushy and collapse.

    Hi, I'm a newbie to growing aloes. Would like to know if a "brownish tint" to the aloe vera leaves is also an indicator of leaf rot?

    • @TheAloeVeraGarden
      @TheAloeVeraGarden  ปีที่แล้ว

      A brownish leaf is either caused by root rot or too much sun. Browning because of sun exposure is normal. The color of Aloe vera changes and the weather changes.

    Moral of the story, when you see rot, the plant is done

      Most of the time, root rot can be still be managed, but leaf rot - most of the time, your plant is done.

    • @TheAloeVeraGarden
      @TheAloeVeraGarden  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use the Aloe vera leaves for juicing, I don't like to eat the gel while thinking part of it was infected by fungus. I also don't want to use it for skin care, just to be safe. They all went to the compost.

    • @TheAloeVeraGarden
      @TheAloeVeraGarden  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on what caused the rotting. Usually, what I do if it is just part of the stem is rotting and if what caused the rotting is the cut leaves that stored water in it, I just clean the stem and let it dry. I wish I could show you how I do it, but unfortunately I don't have a video on this yet. Can you show me a photo of your plant? You can send it to my facebook page facebook.com/thealoeveragarden/
