I totally get the 'can't stop' grooming. The best thing I've found is a FURminator, it's totally addictive. I lent it to my friend the other day and after half an hour she said "you'd better take this off me or I'll be here all night". Also it doesn't make my hands ache like the normal shedding blades do. Thankfully I haven't got the mud problem as we are on top of a hill and it's all chalk so it drains well and if it does get soggy it dries up in no time. At last, something I can be smug about! 😁
oh yesss furminators are the best!! there's always unlimited hair when i'm grooming in spring though lol, which is why i also can't stop grooming. i feel like i have to get ALL of the hair off haha

Your learning is valuable, I'd probably move yards or see if you can switch instructor. There's no point staying if you don't progress
