Thank you! Every time I told myself nah I don’t need to change that I just kept saying well if I changed all this I might as well do that as well now I’m changing everything lol
Nice. I'm thinking of changing the ribbon cable and removing the switch or any other parts and then moving the switch to the ion arm so if that get knocked off or pulled off you get the alarm there instead. I know i won't put a aluminium ion arm because its the part that is most likely to get knocked so it's better if its a part that comes away otherwise the shell gets cracked imo.
Nice! Cool idea. Yeah I would worry more about the ion arm if I were going to comic cons and stuff like that but this is really just going to be a piece in my collection and won’t be wearing it anywhere, so I am just looking for realism and as movie accurate as I can get
@@ghostbusterspluscollector9624 The other thing i'll do is replace the IP67 2-pin aviation socket (hose plug and connector) for a proper metal one , on ebay i see them, quick release instead of screw in is also an option. IP67 is the right size so the square panel should line up exactly with existing screws. I ordered an old gas mask fibre-rubber breather for a gas mask from Ukraine to replace the hard rubber mock up they did.
Can you just switch out the brass fittings and elbows just by drilling a hole that will be snug? Any boards or anything to worry about for the main ones?
Yes you can. You won’t damage anything on the inside but you should still try to not let the drill bit go in all the way just in case. Just enough to get your hole and thread in the fitting. Make sure you don’t make the hole too big or you won’t be able to thread it in and you will have to glue it on. For the elbow on the Cyclotron cover there is one wire that was close to the hole that you have to drill, on mine it was clear of it but I can’t be positive they’re all the exact same.
Question. How do you hook up the tubes to the resistor's on the ion arm. On the fake ones they go right in. I see on the real ones they have these little arms that stick out, but no holes for the tubing.
@@ghostbusterspluscollector9624 Thank you. Another question if you don't mind. I dont know what any of this is called. But the blue wire that connects under the 50w resistor on the ion arm and connects to that tube under the ladder. Is that a real world part?
I thought I could just pull them out with pliers but they were really stuck in there. Ended up having to cut them out with a razor blade in tiny pieces as well as pull them out with pliers. It was a mess. I didn’t make a video because I thought I could just pluck them right out lol I’m sorry about that. Honestly just forgot to record it.
I'm replacing the ion arm, cap, booster tube and ladder, and replacing them with a ion arm thats comes apart and shows the computer board and the booster will be from frozen empire how its open up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow you are moving fast! Thank you for all the videos, certainly helpful!
No problem! Thanks for watching
It's coming along nicely!
Thank you!
Looking good so far! I'm still on the fence as to whether I need new resistors, but real brass connectors definitely seems like a must.

The tubing goes right over the metal bars sticking out from the resister. It holds it nice and tight

Are you talking about the blue tube itself?
@@ghostbusterspluscollector9624 No the connectors. I found out what they are yesterday.
Hello sir, just checking back with you for the size of the screws that you used for the 25 and 50w resistors?
Still have not put those screws in. Just super glued the resistors on but thanks for reminding me! lol
@@ghostbusterspluscollector9624 no problem. There's so much information out there I'll keep trying. Great job on your pack though man.
Thank you very much
I’m interested in how the ribbon cable is gonna go
We shall see. Just want to see if I can find a GB1 ribbon before I put in the GB2 one I have
Can you please tell me what screws you used for the 20 and 50 watt resistors?
I haven’t put screws in those yet just glued them but when I do I will let you know for sure
@@ghostbusterspluscollector9624 Thank you sir.
how did you remove the copper wires on the clippard base? Wish you did a video on it.

Found some GB 1 ribbon in UK. Around $50. I ordered 2!
I found 2 here on eBay got them both as well lol 👍🏻
@@ghostbusterspluscollector9624 Nice!!
Where are you getting your metal plates to replace the stickers?
GBfans website shop
What size screws did you use for the resistors?
How do you put the ion arm back on
