Inspired by the television series and the feature film, S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as a locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant newly tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Torn between loyalty to where he was raised and allegiance to his brothers in blue, former Marine Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson has everything it takes to be an excellent leader and bridge the divide between his two worlds. Hondo's elite unit includes David "Deacon" Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer who always puts the team first, despite feeling overlooked for the lead job; Jim Street, a cocky but promising new member of the group; Christina "Chris" Alonso, a skilled officer and the team's canine trainer; and Dominique Luca, an expert driver who gets them in and out of high risk situations. Overseeing the unit is Jessica Cortez, the captain of L.A. Metro who values her job above all else, including her off-the-books relations with Hondo. Hondo's team enjoys an intense rivalry with another L.A.-based unit led by Mumford, an aggressive leader who likes to do things his way. With Hondo leading the charge, these dedicated men and women bravely put themselves at risk to protect their community and save lives. This series is based on the series S.W.A.T. which was created by Robert Hamner and developed by Rick Husky. It was developed by Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and Shawn Ryan.

Let me get this straight, this guy has a secondary panic room off of his secret dungeon, but it is also the end point of a trapdoop, that is rigged to drop one and only one person into it without warning... This guy is a damn prophet. It played out in precisely the ONLY way that setup works even a little bit.
Some Psychos are like that, they can create amazing scenarios and cook up some amazing traps. That's why SWAT tactics are built around anticipating such situations and overcome them.

@@casekocsk There are very real and careful ways to breach and clear a building. Blindly stomping down hallways is not one of them, even a basic 'pizza' strategy wasn't used where you look from one side of the door to the other before entering to make sure there's nothing on the inside walls.

While the guy is a literal genius for thinking of getting a hostage via the trapdoor and panic room escape, why not just take one of his victims as hostage instead? Is it because he knows the S.W.A.T team is more bonded with their own and would be more willing to negotiate? His plan screwed up because he didn't get a taser to knock down the trained guy.
cuz he's fat, if he takes the chain off of them, even the girl, she could easily outrun him. The fighting scene is unrealistic, never in real life you see a fragile man with that big belly can do so much physically without running outta breath

If you’re making entry immediately, why not just keep the power off? You can’t mess up and trip an alarm with no power, and with the power on if you missed a camera he might discover you.

The guy is "deep with tech" but none of his cameras had a backup battery and everything was running off wired power. Doesn't sound like he's that deep into tech if everything relies on the power grid with no backup power. Some battery power doorstopper alarms would have alerted him to someone coming inside and some and a couple of solar powered/battery powered cameras could easil;y prevent a clipped wire or power loss from completely blinding you.
Maybe the cams did have backup batteries, but the wires were to also feed video into the displays.

You do realize they can't just ignore someone calling and saying for example that the person just killed their family or has hostages. You expect to just not make sure everything is ok at that residence, never know if someone is swatting or if its a real situation. Rather them be safe then sorry

You do realize swatting is much more than a prank call ya? They usually describe horribly violent crimes specifically to get swat teams to respond so yeah

Why did they cut the camera feed? They already turned off the power. And even in the off chance that those cameras were being run by a different source, the moment he checks the cameras and notices the feed is gone, he's gonna know something is up. Might as well just walk in front of the camera
maybe, when the power comes back it will add a little more confusion time, "hmm, power's back but my cameras are off. better reset the camera system" bad guy detracted.
@@discombubulate2256 still it would only break even with the amount of time it took to seek out all of the cameras and strategically Bob and weave through the sight of each one before cutting each cord. Not to mention the amount of money they wasted on unnecessary bodies to do so. I get it's a show, but they're obviously trying to some extent to make it seem at least a little realistic.
Because they wanted to keep the element of the surprise but didn't expect the sound alarms and tear gas. They expected c4 traps
@@Chevalerie2cool they had the element of surprise without cutting the cables to the cameras. The power was already shut off. It has nothing to do about whether the traps were sound driven/tear gas or c4.

The problem with this scene is the torturer wasn't executed with extreme prejudice. You watch these monsters do all kind of hideous crap to people and then watch them be taken off in handcuffs. Johnson should have used his weapon instead of asking him a stupid question.
Death is an easy way out for him. Prison is a far more painful and slow process than a bullet to the head.

This scene makes a colossal mistake that anyone with firearms experience would notice right away. They would NOT be wincing at a loud alarm because they would have the usual HEARING PROTECTION for use with a firearm. * sigh *

Most tactical units wear comms pieces in one ear and keep the other ear clear for situational awareness. EarPro is used only on the range.
