Well done G on experiencing that trip not a way I would do it, but it was cheaper than the train. And extra kudos for using their booking system against them to get the seats you wanted!

I've done a lot of night train travels in proper bed, couchette and in seat and had bad and good nights sleep in each but never as bad as in the bus!
Kudos to you for doing that long coach journey G! Despite myself being a well experienced long distance bus traveller, I don’t think I’d be able to do that very long journey myself 😅
Brilliant video G, I dunno if I'd ever manage a coach journey that long lol. I do like the views on the A14 between the M1 and Cambridge. The ferry looks nice as well.
Usual great vlog G. I totally agree with your comment about trying to sleep on an overnight coach as I've done a number of overnight trips and managed about one hour's sleep!
Thanks for your bravery in tackling this long coach ride. I was surprised at how expensive it was. Flixbus seems to price like airlines. In other words, many months ahead, they charge what they think people will pay but as departure date gets closer they adjust the fare in line with booking patterns (which can change month by month, week by week) and so on.
Well done G that was some endurance going on there. Was there a driver change or 2 drivers the whole trip? I didn't know Flix ran a service through, just assumed it terminated in London

Great that you had a little taste of the Emerald Isle going between France and England 😂 BTW I lived in England long ago and you passed right by where I used to live at Gravelly Hill (Spaghetti) in Birmingham!

Hi! Intresting journey over all. Plane train bus and a ferry! All in one journey. I have to say the choice of music in today’s video, and the 20s vibe was a bit too perky in contrast to the sleepiness I’m sure you felt throughout your bus trip 😂 There is a certain feeling attached to night travel. Back in the day I drove night buses and there is a special feeling of not being 100% steady when it’s dark and you’re tired and moving. When you finally got home and sat down stationary at home I bet you still felt like you were moving still. At least I used to feel that way after a night shift. For some reason it was never like that driving buses in the daytime. 🤔. Anyway. Long post this time. I hope the trip was a good one overall with the Olympic football and everything. I guess it would have been cheaper to fly home 😂 until next time, cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
Hi just wanted to check if travelling from London to Paris, what is the first point of immigration is it in UK or France? . I am traveling in 9pm bus but my visa start from 00.00 3 hrs after I am in the bus ? . Will that be okh
A fantastic vlog as always G and loved the music and you passed near my neck of the woods & Flixbus have partnered with a local firm Whippet Bus and you were able to catch up with your sleep⛴
Fourteen hours? Stamina in spadeloads, G! Even on a coach as fancy and comfortable as that Neoplan, that is quite the journey to undertake! I doubt I could do something like this without ending up as a zombie with a Scottish accent as I cannot sleep on a moving vehicle... 🤣
Yeah that definitely was a lot cheaper than even standard class on the Eurostar + standard class on Avanti to Manchester. Surprised the bus used the ferry rather than just using the tunnel shuttle train, I know coaches can fit on that train.
I’m glad it was you rather than me! But, that ferry looked fantastic didn’t it? I can see why people fly that distance as the train is too pricey and the coach is well… too coachy! 😂
Insteresting journey, not good for sleeping! If I'd known you were coming past Dover I might have popped down to say hello, I live about 25 minutes away. Superb sunrise, not often many of us get to see that in the summer. As for the journey, you slept on the M2 Medway bridge where the motorway runs alongside HS1, the train always wins! My sister in law loves the busses from France but me, never, much prefer trains or driving myself.
Amazing where you can go with Flixbus these days! I may consider going all the way to Switzerland (either Zurich or Basel) with them, either via Paris or Brussels. Got an idea of an epic Flixbus challenge: how far across Europe can you get from Manchester? You should try something like Manchester - Paris - Zurich - (make sure this bit is in the daytime cos Swiss Alps) - Milan - somewhere in Southern Italy. Possibly try going eastwards to Bucharest or Istanbul?
Service is operated by Whippets who are based here so I’d imagine that bears some relevance. It’s also plenty easy enough to come out of west London (North Greenwich) straight onto the M11/A14 for a straight shot along the M6 to Birmingham. Probably more time effective than heading any further into central looking for the M1 or M40.
Every credit for taking that coach trip "G" I could never do something like that for various reasons e.g. I'd rather drive than be driven and I can never manage sleep in a car or coach but I sometimes can on a train. Very interesting video, I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to do such a long coach journey! Out of interest, what were the loadings like? My theory on why the prices dropped after you booked is that they were struggling to sell seats so dropped the prices to get enough people on it to make it worth operating?
