Enrico Caruso - Tarantella sincera (1912)

During the month of August, Dead Tenors' Society is honoring the memory of the great Italian tenor Enrico Caruso (1873-1921). A selection of "Desert Island Discs" will be showcased, giving an example of the Caruso recordings that I cannot live without. You may have your own favorites...here is one of mine.
In spite of his legendary sense of humor, Caruso recorded but a single comic song...de Crescenzo's "Tarantella sincera". The tenor is clearly enjoying himself in this jaunty little piece about a man who is looking for the perfect wife. Caruso recorded this song for the Victor label on January 19, 1912.
