Make sure that the battery and the main power supply is correct I have had this problem before and it turned out to be low voltage to the computer ecu! But it diagnosed as crank and cam angle sensor It also switched sides aswell Good luck
I'm pretty sure that the guy who is doing it must have either charged or at least checked the battery voltage. Most older cars with ecu's are fairly compliant with slightly down voltages I've found, however if it's a Land Rover especially a L322 Range Rover they are a bitch for low voltage problems.
Diagnosing electrical problems is a bitch, an expensive bitch too at that. To fix that requires experience, a very good scan tool, and a scope. I hope you can find the problem quickly. Usually, the problem is a result of corrosion.
We have a Macintosh in our imported Leggy. They were decent units. The speaker foam can disintegrate. This could be the issue with the sound, so even if you change the head unit, you still have crap sound. You can swap out for new speakers. There are about 8 or 10 dotted around the car. You don't have to replace all of them, just disconnect the ones you don't want. Our one talks in Japanese, but only to greet you, which is quite cool tbh. It also plays DVD's to the screen & has a CD stacker in the boot & a remote control. For 2004, a pretty good spec.
Only thing I could add is the frequency scale for the tuner may be off a few clicks. I know there's a difference between Euro and North America spec, so makes a digital tuner a potential bish. And not considering it a falsehood, mate, but you do deserve some re-charge time to keep your physical and mental health on track.
Make sure that engine has genuine senors,because there all share the same 5volt reference,supply,and it does bugger the data at the ecu,also wiring under the inlet manifold,good look,remember no none genuine sensors.
Check the block connectors that join the engine loom to the main loom. The pins oxidize and snap/short out. Had it on the impreza after having the engine out. May not be that but a good place to start. Also, hopefully Duncan will be back (he's been under the weather) on his channel q&a tomorrow evening, so get on amd ask away.
Great video, one thing please don't waste your time at halfords for car audio they tend to be expensive, lower quality and I'm yet to find any store that has any reasonable knowledge of car audio, sadly decent aftermarket car audio seems to being a dying trade however there are a few places online that can provide all you'll need, personally I'd be inclined to use places like car audio direct or car audio security, these have been around for years and are still going strong. With regards of the electrical issues on the legacy sadly fault finding can be a real nightmare and being a JDM version doesn't help but hopefully you'll get to the bottom of it as I like many others are dying to see it in the flesh
That’s not lying, that’s just life. As for wiring issues on Subaru’s, they are the same as any other manufacturer. Most problems with wiring are bad earths, they are exposed to the elements so corrosion can be a problem. Also slightly loosened anchor points and loose crimps come into play.
Some Subarus have a brace behind the dash that prevents the installation of aftermarket head units, Depending upon the year of your Subaru, try this unit: GRUNDIG GX-3800 Apple Carplay / Android Auto / Android Mirror / Bluetooth / USB.
No worries. Sometimes you just have to set the to-do list aside and take a day to recharge. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't take a day once in a while.

Just say you got drunk then we would all understand. :) Update on the Subaru WR1 alternator I`m fixing. Was not charging enough to run the car properly but when I bench tested it, it kicks out 14.2 volts. Waiting for an Oscilloscope to test the 3 phases are working.
Where is your scooby ? Sounds like this Chris is stringing you along, constantly finding faults, emptying your wallet, get the trailer,go collect it and source it out locally,at least you know that you can keep an eye on it ?

I had a 2004 sti prodrive car and boy she was hard on fuel and back then super unleaded was hard to find

Can you post the part # of the ECU? In New Zealand JDM imports are much more common. Might be cheaper....
