      @@SavySavannah. because you are low porosity you should rince your hair with warm green tea so like that it's can penetrate properly 😊 but not too hot cause one day I almost burn my scalp🤣

      @@MyeshaB I use the aveeno oat milk blend protein hair mask but whatever mask you see in the ingredients ( hydrolyzed milk protein) is the one cause it's the most important ingredient who really lets everything penetrate inside the hair shaft.

      A great way to retain moisture is oil rinsing. Do it almost every wash day. After shampoo and deep conditioner ofc.

      Low Porosity: Grapeseed Oil and Jojoba Oil

    WEEKLY use of protein on my ends & ayurvedic powders/oil in deep condish made a HUGE diff for my naturally high porosity hair. It catapulted me to WL.

    • @jaylamichele332
      @jaylamichele332 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Would you mind sharing how you do it specifically? Like what type of protein and powders and what’s your process. My HP hair is mid back length and is becoming so dry and brittle and won’t style at all.

    • @shauniebnaturalista6672
      @shauniebnaturalista6672 4 ปีที่แล้ว +59

      @@jaylamichele332 when my hair got about 2" from WL, it felt like if I pulled it down to length check, the tips would disintegrate in my fingers. My hair STRUGGLED to get to WL.
      I found an amino acid complex on Amazon. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. I use it on my ends only before I put in my leave in condish. My problem was my moisturizers were over moisturizing my hair. The kick of protein was exactly what the ends of my hair needed to be strong.
      I also put amla, brahmi, henna, & indigo powder ...henna and indigo WILL PERMANENTLY color your hair (I'm gray)...in a jar with olive, avocado, &/or grapeseed oil. I add any number of essential oils and leave that to baste for a week.
      I put LOTS of this oil and herbs in my deep condish AND the oil on my scalp after my leave in condish and pull it through the hair, then put my moisturizer on top. No more over-moisturized ends. It started retaining length IMMEDIATELY. I saw retained length by the next month.
      I also committed to giving up my wash and go for a while. I now braid it or twist it weekly, wearing twist outs for 2 days max. Then it's washday again. Consistency.
      I'm now a hair's breadth past WL... for the first time in my life... At 57... an age when most women are cutting it off.

    Every time i plan to deep condition my hair i pre poo with various oils on my scalp and rice water. Gentle protein every few weeks/month and then deep conditioning with heat...then closing the cuticle with heavier oils and butters is what’s been a game changer to my high porosity hair. Also learned it’s not worth it to keep my hair straight. My hair swells and absorbs moisture bc it’s healthy high porosity hair, so I’ve learned styles my hair like that don’t require a lot of manipulation and my hair has flourished recently.

    Thank you Sis, for all the helpful information. I have been searching for balance since I have low porosity but my daughter has high porosity. The struggle was real in these parts, but we're getting it together ❤.
    Side note: I loved😍😍 seeing you in those beautiful white dresses! I'm not sure what it was for, but you slayed on IG!

    Im not sure of my porosity , even after tests. I thought I was lowpo cuz I experienced protein sensitivity in the past, but I’ve been avoiding protein products for years and my hair seems to be worse. Idk.

      Same. I hadnt uses protein in so long cuz I was so sensitive. Ive been struggling with Single stand knots and breakage. I used the aphogee 2 minute corrector last week and its definitely what my hair needed.

      are your hair strands fine? It's possible that you're not protein sensitive but that your hair can only take small proteins (proteins with smaller molecules - i.e. anything hydrolyzed)

      I would try Catherine Marion's protein treatment powder. I find it works very well on fine textured hair. If your hair doesn't like that one, you're either protein sensitive or your hair is too dry/brittle.

      Privacy Wanted i think I have some find strands and some coarse. I’ll look into that protein powder, thanks!

      Nikki L I just might need some protein. I was wondering if I’m maybe sensitive to certain types of protein.

    Your explanations are all over the place sounds like your explaining one thing over but in a different way.. my daughter hair is long but since its high porosity.. I just need products that will keep her hair motorised n not sucking up all the products

    FeFe is so bougie, some days she acts low most days she acts high. She has me so confused most days so I just follow her lead, whatever she wants to do that day, I do.

    Wow, you made high porosity hair sound like a bad hair type. My hair is high porosity, it is soft and has elasticity. It would be nice if you have experience on what you are talking about, instead of making our hair look bad
