Wow it always looks easy when a person can due the impossible work very few can do, Never gets old watching true artistry . No machine will ever replace years of hard work. Freddy sometimes you dont even know how much of an impression you make on others.
I worked at an auto upholstery shop in New Jersey in my 20s. One of the shop's regular sources of work was a high end Porsche shop that would send over some amazing cars (like RUF and Kremer 930s and other 911s)for restoration and custom work. A popular custom touch for the 911 cabrios was to get roll bars covered with hand-stiched leather. My commercial shop days are long-gone, but I still visit periodically and I recently got back into sewing through my local Makerspace. I'm three quarters of the way through a re-do of a VW camper interior at the moment. I'm jealous of that double needle machine! I love the look of a double topstich, so I just have to feed it through the machine twice.
That bare aluminum was awesome. I'm actually surprised John didn't break out a sewing machine. We finally found something he didn't want to try. lol Incredible work. I hope this car will be at sema tbh.
It is really refreshing to see John in awe and asking the type of questions we normally want to ask him whilst busy in hís workshop...once an inquiring mind always a student for life!!!🎉
John, I really enjoy your videos and it's great to see a true craftsman like Freddy work. Also, the background music you choose is perfect. So many TH-camrs use such harsh music it's difficult to get though the videos.
Thanks, I think it's kind of a cop-out to add background music but I didn't have anything more to add about Freddy. Yapping over Freddy doing his thing seemed like a distraction. Watching him do his work is kind of calming so a classical guitar track seemed appropriate.
Amazing work by the upholsterer, such a craftsman. Thanks for the update, been following along since you started this project. Corvairs, especially second generations, are some of GMs best body design. In my opinion anyway. ,
Thanks for Sharing with us. Freddy is a true craftsman you don't find very many people with that kind of talent everyday. He did a great job and I really like the design and color scheme you did and chose!
I have to commend you on your dedication to making Corvairs safer. Putting the intake under the car so the turbo sucks it down to the road surface is genius! Hopefully this renders the car harmless at numerous velocities.
Love to see an upholster that does great work and has an AK-47 hanging from his tool rack. Must be a tough neighborhood. Anyway it’s an amazing build. I’ve been watching you for a while and keep up the outstanding work.
Nice project John something different I like it I will be following …. Beautiful interior done by my best friend Freddy Arreola he has done two of my cars professionally……
Looking goooood John!! Colour scheme... noice! Pink paintwork wouldn't look out of place but I fancy a deep gloss black two tone with airbrushed red speckly highlights.
I'm watching this around 5:00 in the morning here in Texas it's just my jaw is dropped over the beautiful craftsmanship and your car is just cool dude. I'm an old fart does not work on cars always like the Corvair
WOW!!! Can't wait to see the finished product. Freddy is John Reynolds on leathercraft. John, Loved the humor that Freddy migrated from China and his father made boots for the Nazi🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Lol, I thought he was Hispanic too, but he’s Chino and apparently picked up the accent. 7:11 It’s funny how some Hispanics and Chinese people can pass each other.
Damn John, I’m ecstatic about this car coming together in its final stages. When complete, I think you should have a website with a full gallery of professional photos to showcase this car in its full glory. I’m as excited about this car as any Foose or Kindig car out there.
Well this video was well worth the wait! Stunning workmanship highlighted once again. Thanks for the teaser video also! Hmm, what exterior color will John choose? I wonder. My guess, it won't be blue, yellow or green. Maybe silver?
Weird Your channel got dropped from my subscription. Hummmm. Very interesting. Luckily I caught this one and hopefully I stay connected. Amazing dash and the craftsmanship, as it is for the whole project is epic. Cheers and peace out.
Wow John. Nice. Though it's kind of a shame to cover your amazing tin work. If it weren't for all the visible screws, it'd almost look OEM. The red and black feels a bit too much to me. (I'd rather see smaller strips of red.) But Freddy's work is beautiful!
OH MY GOD!!! I thought that the bare aluminum dash looked stunning! Gorgeous, just gorgeous.
Best of all, you can just wipe it down after the accident.

Really BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship ! Thanks for sharing it John.

I've always been greatly concerned for the safety of my family due to the lack of turbos on my cars.
It should be pretty safe with one turbo. Probably safer with two however.
@@JohnReynolds661 - Don't forget the intercoolers. Added safety for the turbo's themselves... which are keeping YOU safe.
You bought a 100 series Land Cruiser also!
Hat tip to Freddy! Amazing looking final product. I love seeing people still having passion for handmade artwork.
Well, custom takes time and it's a beautiful craft. Such beautiful workmanship Freddy. Thanks John, this will be a beauty, wow. 👍💪✌

Ha, I know my limits. Upholstery and body/paint are better left to someone with those skills IMO.
Watching g craftsmen like you guys never gets old. Thanks for sharing.
Hi from France, this dashboard is gorgeous and this guy is a real artist !
Thanks 53handyman from France!
It is really refreshing to see John in awe and asking the type of questions we normally want to ask him whilst busy in hís workshop...once an inquiring mind always a student for life!!!🎉
Asking lots of questions is how I learn things.
The videos always cover a lot of content, but always leave me wishing for more. Fantastic watching two pros.
my thoughts exactly!
I don't want to bore people with a long rambling video, but thanks!
What a pleasure to watch another master craftsman at work! Thanks for showing us.

Wow! Freddy is a true artisan. Outstanding work.
Freddy is an artist! That looks amazing :-)

Thanks, I've liked the LM Corvair style since I was a kid which shows my age.

Wow, that looks awesome!
It's strange seeing others work on your project, but you chose well.
Delegating to others that are specialized in their field is key.
Freddy is a wizard - all kudos to him...
The whole car is just mind blowing. Great as always
Always too short, I want more. Well done, as usual
Thanks, I try to keep a balance between education/entertainment and boredom on the length of my videos.
Wow just outstanding work 👏 sir !

I like your way of thinking.
Always a pleasure watching a true artist at work. Beautiful!
Stunning work!!
This is probably gonna be the best Corvair build/restomod in USA.
I don't know about that, there are several other beautiful Corvair builds out there or are in progress, but thanks.
There's another gentleman doing a serious custom resto on TH-cam ...classic car Studios I do believe...
@@rodneypratt4324 yes, they're doing a fantastic job too.
Impressive, love this build. 👏👏👏
It's an absolute joy to watch a true craftsman work his trade. Your build is sure coming together great!

Wow, I thought the bare aluminum looked great.
This leather looks awesome.
Nice work Freddy. You are an artist and craftsman.
good job John 👍💪
Very cool to see such craftsman skill, and all the small details that make a difference. Freddy wasn’t bad either.
Man that is stunning!! Skilled people always make things look simple. I love following your build. Fantastic work!!😁
The best make it look so easy. We need to preserve the crafts and trades.
True artist.
Nice project John something different I like it I will be following ….
Beautiful interior done by my best friend Freddy Arreola he has done two of my cars professionally……
And you’ve done a great job with the dash design, many end up looking a bit DIY but you thought that through very well.
The leather is magnificent!
Beautiful 😱
The leather turned out nice.
Quite a craftsman. ❤️🔥✨
The aluminum work aint bad either.
Wow, Mr. Reynolds Sir, You seem to raise the bar a little higher with each video, awesome craftsmanship !!!!!
Thanks, Freddy did a great job.
@JohnReynolds661 You are so welcome
Looking goooood John!! Colour scheme... noice! Pink paintwork wouldn't look out of place but I fancy a deep gloss black two tone with airbrushed red speckly highlights.

Holy cow! That's a beautiful dash!
That’s a damn good looking dash!
Beautiful
What an incredible craftsman ❤ Very cool episode 👍🏻 Hopefully he’s able to pass down his knowledge to a younger generation.

Thanks, the China bit was a gag but I think the other part is true. I need to be more careful with sarcastic humor.

Bendiciones amado hermano Fredy . Te amo.
Gracias Hermann saludos
Lovely work nd beutifully filmed
Freddy does nice work. I need to bookmark this video for his contact info.
Dammmmm - nice work. Any chance Freddie is mentoring the next generation?
That's a good question. People need to show interest at an early age. Not sure how that works with today's Tic Toc era.
Craftsmanship......so much learning to be taught....
Yes and I don't think one person can know all the different trades at a high level.
Amazing work! Paint the Corvair bright silver! with an ever so light blue tint.
I have a color picked out, some will love it, others...meh
Freddy makes that look very easy which is most certainly isnt.
Delightful
Really enjoy the videos
Dang! It's gettin funner on this build
I try to keep it funner.
Beautiful!
Wow, enough said 👍
Wow!
Aside from Frddy's obvious leather talents I also like his choice of self defence.
AWESOME.
Awesome to see someone skilled still doing this sort of work. I just wonder what part of the upholstery process that AK on the wall is used for?
Non payment?
@@JohnReynolds661 Well, I’d be convinced to pay.
Ohhh,,, a cliff hanger on the body color.
I'm going to try not to paint it an ugly color but I can't guarantee it.
