My TOP for 2018 is the Grand Seiko manual winding SBGW231. For all seasoned watch collectors, no matter how many watches they owned, top of the their list would be manual winding watches, and this has to be what the connoisseurs called the True Three Hands mechanism. For those who are new, the True Three Hands has a long minute hand, and an even longer second hand. You have to see the SBGW231 in person to see how wonderful the watch is. The zaratsu finished hands and indices sparkle like diamonds on the equally beautiful custard dial. It runs more than 3 days and only off by a second in that 3 days. We can even take Patek for comparison. The Patek manual winding watches are mostly either with 2 hands or have a sub-second hand. They reserved their Three Hands mechanism for their top most range, and they cost a fortune. The vintage inspired SBGW231 only cost 3,000USD new. That's why it's my TOP watch!!!
I am surprised the Cartier Tank SOLO XL with Alligator strap is not featured here - to me it's the most elegant dress watch, much more so than any of those shown here. The next one should be the Rolex Cellini. Really not sure if you guys know watches!

These are certainly very elegant and slim dress watches. However, I have in my small collection a man's 1960s Eterna matic 3000 with date. I realise that value wise it's lightyears away from the Pateks and Jaegers, but it is a supremely elegant watch and one of the very slimmest I've ever seen - like a wafer caressing the wrist. In addition to looking elegant and understated, it keeps time to within seconds a month and the date feature built into such a slim, auto movement, is truly remarkable. The movement is obviously an eta calibre, but certainly nothing to be ashamed off. The condition is immaculate and looks simply amazing on the wrist. With so much brand snobbery dominating the watch market and enthusiast you tube channels, it's a real pleasure to own a watch that has an integrity, style and quality, which transcends the understandable yet stratospheric prices of today's luxury models, and sits comfortably in a class of its own - defiant and proud.
I have a Seiko Solar. $250 and it keeps time within 1 minute 20 seconds a year synched to my GPS. Why would I spend more, besides my cell phone tells me the time.
The Breguet Classique is my favorite aesthetically - way, way more beautiful than the Patek featured here. The latter is quite bland, boring. The Grand Seiko isn't all that visually striking either. In my view, a serious omission was the Royal Oak.

Some very good choices. Pity about the very poor filming of the Patek and, judging by the band and some scratches, it was not a new watch - didn’t to do this wonderful watch and brand any justice at all

The Grand Seiko is a great watch, but not a dress watch. And you completely forgot Blancpain, the world’s oldest watch maker. Surely, the Villeret range deserves a top 10 spot.
Pretending to list only 10 dress watches is somehow a highly biased decision. You do not even mention models from brands which deserve attention, such as: Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Ulysse Nardin, F. P. Journe, Franc Vila, Greubel Forsey, Louis Moinet, Gérald Genta, Glashütte Original, Blancpain, Zenith, Cartier, Corum, IWC, Omega, Rolex (Cellini collection)... Besides, the design of that Grand Seiko in particular, for example, simply does not fit in here (is like including a Submariner or similar). Wrong contender, sorry. Very nice selection overall, yes, (with the exception of that Grand Seiko), but the list should be at least of minimum 25 or 30 models from different brands. Minimum!
Well, if you are a Japanese baller, you would get a Credor Eichi II in Platinum. $54K. I would be much more impressed seeing that on an affluent wrist than any Patek or A Lange & Sohne.
Not deeply into watches, although when I was 20 I bought a Universal Polerouter Geneve new in 1964 with my hard earned money. I still have it with the original bracelet (and it still runs) and I have recently been offered four time what I paid for it, new. I have never seen (in spite of looking) another Universal Geneve with a dial remotely similar but it happens to have the same basic dial design as this Seiki of which I was not aware. I must say, though, that this Credor Eichi II is the most elegant and beautiful dial face I have ever seen.

Both IIII and IV are used for 4. Most watch makers would use IIII. Look at #7, the Breguet, and it shows IIII also.
