Il Maestro Einaudi si è letteralmente innamorato del Salento quando per due anni consecutivi ha diretto la Notte della Taranta con anche Alessia Tondo, una delle edizioni più belle in assoluto.
Questo pezzo meraviglioso è un suo regalo a quella Terra magica fatto dopo quella esperienza.
Non scordiamoci che anche il più grande cantante italiano di tutti i tempi Domenico Modugno cantava in salentino. Lui infatti è nato a Polignano ma è cresciuto a San Pietro Vernotico e parlava regolarmente salentino (spacciandolo per siciliano che é molto simile, lo stesso ceppo linguistico. Il pugliese di Bari e Foggia invece è molto molto diverso perché del ceppo napoletano).
Il salentino è un dialetto che come pochi si adatta alla musicalità e rispetto ad esempio al napoletano è molto più dolce nelle tonalità.
Però guarda caso voi pugliesi ascoltate canzoni napoletane
PS. Con questo non disprezzo la Puglia visto che per metà sono pugliese l'altra napoletana

This song is written in "Salentino", one of the (many) beautiful dialects of Apulia (Puglia), a southern Italian region (I really suggest you to go and visit Apulia. It's beautiful, and we, as Neapolitans, share the same roots, and there's why we feel so bound to each other).
I'm from Naples, so first I had to find a translation in Italian that suited the original content and meaning, then I had to translate it to English.
I don't know other languages very well, so I'm sorry to say that I can't translate it for people who don't understand English.

I got this song from my piano teacher and it is absolutely stunning. I can’t stop playing it! I got 3 injections today in my arms (2 in my left and 1 in my right) and even though it hurts to open a door, when I play this song, I’m so distracted by the beauty of it that I forget about the pain.
His music keeps changing my life, keeps making my bad days amazing, keeps me alive - both physically and mentally. Without the magic that Ludovico Einaudi composes, both me, my family and my friends would not be as happy as we are, enjoying and listening everyday. The touching nuances, the heavenly chords that end up in arpeggio, are not comparable with anything or any other music. I'm looking forward to hearing more!

Gran parte della zona era napoletana, i miei vicini di casa erano di Venezia! la mia insegnante di italiano del liceo è nata a Firenze, e oltre ad insegnarci l'italiano ufficiale, ci ha chiesto e fatto abbracciare il nostro dialetto personale, sapendo che studiavamo solo per il fatto di parlare con i nostri parenti che non parlavano inglese! I enjoyed this over and over at least 400 times and often share it with others. I never knew there were words to this! Alessia Tondo is amazing and perfect. I am addicted to Ludovico's work and listen to it regularly... especially if there is something important I need to write, or need to think through. He is a man who can speak through his fingers what he holds in his heart and soul, opening the pathway and showing us the way so that we, too, can get in touch with our heart and soul. Hay un par de frases que no he sabido como traducir correctamente (Passa il tempo e non parlare, Passa il tempo e non dire), pues parlare y dire, ambos infinitivos, no quedan bien si se traducen como tal. Por otra parte, tampoco estaba muy seguro de cómo traducir "No, se non ci stai".
Espero, de todos modos, que esté lo más correcta posible.
