Video is confusing only if you assume its a love song to his wife. It makes more sense when you realize its a love song to his fans/career/performing for them. When he got real big, that's when he was in the prime of his career. And even when he stumbled at that time, he misses it. Now that he's on the outside (not in his prime, he misses it). So he destroys the house and ends with dancing to show that he's back. He's selfish because he wants to relive his career and connection with his fans.

What I love about the video, is that it looks like he’s trying to keep his mask on while being doing his job, while it’s obviously a lot of stuff going on under the surface. The telephone ☎️ on the other side of the miniature tight yet long corridor is also very symbolic of how difficult it is for him to really be in control. There’s a desperation and frustration there, and he tries to keep his mask on. But he cannot. Stomping on that miniature corridor, kinda put an end to the little bit of optimism. The song seems like a love song, but he sounds more hurt and even to the degree of either feeling like a relationship is about to be done, or it has already been and he is.
The Fallon/Roots upbeat arrangement is way better. There’s a much bigger pop song in here - but Timbo botched this with too chill production.

@@sheknows4991 Yeah I mistakenly said Timbo. But it doesn’t matter who produced it or whether you categorize it as pop or urban pop. T.I.’s Whatever You Like would be a good example of a big urban pop song that was undeniable. This song is polarizing and there are tons of people voicing a similar sentiment that it is missing something.
