    THANKS! My MT-6310 came off exactly the same way. Saved me a bunch of time.

    Thanks a lot man, it worked also on my MT-6310..as it has exactly the same pin...its a good thing I saw your video or I would probably brake it by pulling the plate off. Thanks once again and all the best. Cheers from Serbia. Just to add that I have used a small knife from Leatherman multi tool, it worked very nice as it has a very fine tip of the blade so it is much easier to catch the pin and pull it out.

    Amazing. TH-cam never lets me down with these random DIY problems I have. There's always some kind soul who figured it out first and spend the time to share it. Thanks!

    For those who can't find or don't have a cotter pin to remove (it was not on the example I worked) you do not need to remove the platter to change the belt. Slip it under the platter starting at the motor shaft, keeping hold of it there and then work it around, ensuring it stays on the drive surface of the platter. You'll have to be careful as it goes over the far end as you work it onto that drive surface, turning it a little perhaps to ensure it's up all the way round and doesn't slip under the center of the platter. It took me a couple of goes, but it worked.

      Hey if that worked, great! I usually believe there are multiple ways to solve a problem...!

      Hey, didn't understand your instructions.. how new belt goes around the plate if you cant pass its center??

    • @davens929
      @davens929 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dorrshr You start by slipping part of it under the platter, keeping the rest on top of the platter. There is enough stretch in the belt to do this. Once it is almost all on the drive surface, stretch it a little more to make sure it doesn't slip off as the last part goes under the rim, then stretch it over the motor shaft.

    I have a the same turntable.I do not have a manual and I was frustrated as how to remove the platter. Now I know. I was wondering is you had a manual for yours and if so, could you copy it for me? If you can let me know how to get in contact with you. Thank for the vid.

    Be glad it wasn't a MT-6310... that model didn't use a simple cotter pin, but a metal bracket held in with 2 screws preventing you from lifting the platter off. You'd have to either disassemble it from the bottom (which is fiddly and takes ages because of the auto return mechanism), or do it the ghetto way and drill a 5-10mm hole into the platter close to the spindle to get to the screws from the top and never use them (or the bracket) again. I mean hey it's just a low end Sanyo TT rebadged as Fisher... not like it's worth anything. But still that seems a bit... well... excessive just to change a belt Oo!

      For my MT-6310, it worked exactly as shown in the Video. The pin is just very hard to see. Maybe there are different versions of the same devise, but please double check, before you do it the „ghetto way“

      @@janwinter8789 Wrote a lengthy reply hours ago just fot YT to delete it as spam because I put a photo link. I definitely didn't miss any cotter pin over a 3.5x2cm notched metal plate screwed right into the nylon (?) surrounding the brass tube the spindle goes into. The screw posts in the nylon are completely absent in the TT in this video, so I figure there have been multiple revisions, and the plate retention mechanism might've been on early TTs, and they cost-downed the metal plate and 2 screws out in favor of a simple cotter pin.
      Next attempt at the picture: If you know imgur, go to that site, add a slash at the end and "6gc577U" (case sensitive)

      @@Knaeckebrotsaege deinem Namen zu urteilen, nehme ich Mal an du sprichst Deutsch. Habe den alten mt 6310 von meiner Mutter bekommen. Der Teller läuft nicht mehr schön geschmeidig. Irgendwo schleift er am Rand. Wollte den Teller abnehmen und das Ding erstmal komplett sauber machen. Stand Jahre lang auf dem Speicher und ist komplett verstaubt. Aber habe auch keine Chance den Teller abzunehmen. Sehe auch kein Clip, Pin oder ähnliches. Von unten öffnen habe ich auch schon versucht. Keine Ahnung wo man da den Teller lösen soll...

    • @jpaang

      I'm not sure but in the picture above the black point in the centre is attached to the platter and holds the rubber mat on the platter. The platter fits on a metal spindle with the cotter pin holding it.
