I remember I saw someone posting a good method to change those files in garage band to mono (something to do with track lock) but I don’t remember who and can’t find the posting.... thanks again for any help!
if you export as mono then the imported track will be mono even if the track appears to be stereo so no massive problem. Also if you open the smart controls you can click the double circle near input and change to a single circle that will change to mono

Hello Studio Hack I've got a question. When I import a MP3 file, the audio start to play in triple time. I use the right BPM but it doesn't work. I downloaded a song from TH-cam and want to remix it. Maybe you have a clue for me to fix it.
I ran into a problem...Importing a stem from studio one 4 into garage band ... the files always become stereo! Is there a way to change it to mono in GarageBand?? Thanks
Well done, I'm having a problem though. I'm trying to turn an audio file into a loop so that I can slow it down and when I go through the process you describe here, it doesn't give me the option to choose "loop" instead of "one shot". What am I doing wrong?

Cassandra Reed you literally uninstall the garageband application then redownload it!! hope this helps :)

are you exporting the stem as mono from Studio One?
when i drag another audio file, it overwrites the existing one. Any idea why and how I can solve this issue?

This isn't working for me. I try to drag the files from my finder into the track, but nothing happens. What do I do?

Also maybe try converting whatever audio file you have to .WAV before dragging in using an online converter like online-audio-converter.com/
sometimes a file can be encoded with a weird audio format that GB does not recognise

you might need to convert it to .WAV or .AIFF if it is in another format. You can use an online audio converter like convertio.co/
