I do think I would rather support holo taco more than super chic lacquer because I know superchic lacquer is a Trump supporter and also can be very rude and argumentative in comments, plus I think it was unprofessional that she accused holo taco of duping her polishes when she can’t own exclusive rights to a rainbow linear collection and they’re clearly not dupes because they’re different shades and use different pigments and holo. I know holo taco isn’t perfect either, and I know that some people don’t care about the people behind the brands for what brands they decide to buy, but that’s just my personal take on it for what I decide to do.

So people don't have a right on political opinions of their own just because they are famous to a certain degree or is it only that right-wing supporters don't have a right to have political opinions, I'm curious.
Jo no I don’t mean that at all! I’m sorry I tried to explain at the end of my comment that I’m not judging anyone for what they decide to purchase or how they decide to purchase, but my personal criteria for my own buying choices (and not anyone else’s) does include that I don’t want to support people who support trump. And this is personal for me, it doesn’t include republicans in general, but trumps immigration policy changes have cost my husband and me thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of stress trying to get his green card, and for no reason. So I personally just feel a lot of guilt for even indirectly supporting his administration. But again, I don’t think that’s something that is for everyone, everyone has a right to their political opinion and everyone has the right to support or not support any company for any reason, and my not supporting her is not taking away her right to have her political opinions in any way it’s just me exercising my own right to an opinion and that’s ok!
This comment was just me answering the question that she asked in the video of who I would rather buy from. I should also note that I think her unprofessional behavior is probably the biggest reason why I wouldn’t support superchic lacquer not her political affiliations.

I genuinely feel the Halo Taco lacquers have WAY more depth and dimension. I truly think they are the superior brand here.

They are both beautiful in comparison, slight differences in shades and formulas, so it’s just a brand preference. I do know that the holo taco brand actually does have more than 12ml in the bottle but they didn’t want to change the labeling. They do get thicker as you use them but thinner can be added which make them actually go a lot further, Cristine actually suggests it. Both are fantastic brands!

I don't understand why Simplynailogical went with the skinny round brush in her bottles. It's so outdated. Love her polish, dislike the brush

I feel like I remember in one of her videos, she said that she herself prefers the smaller round brush so that's why she chose it.

While I love that there’s comparison for holo taco, as well as being able to see both brands on different skin tones, I can’t help but feel that there’s a bias when you have a discount code for the competitive brand that you likely get some sort of compensation from. I’d love to see if there are other brands apart from these two that offer similar products though! :)
There’s no bias! You also don’t have to use my superchic affiliate code if you don’t want to. I think they are both great brands! I wanted to compare these two brands because they both had rainbow holo polishes that seemed similar. I’ve been purchasing from Superchic lacquer for about 5 or 6 years now and these were the first polishes I’ve purchased from Holo Taco. Holo polishes are my favorite finish besides cremes so I thought it would make a good video. 🤷🏾♀️

Enchanted Polish also has a linear holo rainbow collection that was released just before Holo Taco! Just one shade is a different color

Thanks for showing the comparison, I am a great fan of holos and rainbows and I was never interested in brand owners political views or marketing strategies (not saying it's not important, it's everyone's right to support the company based on whatever they want and is important to them). Based only on formulas and swatches I would lean more towards Superchic, cause I like to work with them - opaque, easy to apply, dry superfast and great for nailart and stamping. Holo Tacos are way thicker and I struggle working with them sometimes, they are more holographic though. I kinda feel I need to say once again - based only on polishes I own - I love polishes from both brands, I think there is enough space in the nail polish world for both of them. I really enjoyed the video!

Thanks! It’s nice to see how different they really are next to each other! I actually like getting the thick nail polishes because I can add a lot of thinner to make them thin nail polishes and get a few more Milliliters out of it so they end up being more polish than the superchic. And they’re still one coat for me because of how much pigment there is!

TBH I’m predisposed to liking Holo Taco more right off the bat because 1) I like the brush shape 2) the cap is matte 3) the formulas are very thick. Many brands (I also buy from Cupcake and Starrily) have gorgeous linear holos, I personally don’t think that having rainbow colors means a polish is a dupe. The polishes I have from SuperChic are great, I love all the linear holos 😍

That’s true. I feel like you can’t please everyone with the brush. Everyone likes different brushes. I don’t mind the skinny brush but it isn’t my favorite 🤷🏾♀️

I really liked this video. I felt you were very neutral and just simply comparing the two brands and polishes seeing that they are similar in shades. I do personally love holo taco. I’ve been following Christine for a while now and I have purchased her polishes but because I haven’t ever used superchic I can’t really give an opinion! Great video! :)

The superchic formula lasts much longer in the bottle. I don't like the way Holo Taco gets sticky/stringy after a month or so. I had never experienced that with any other nail polish. I know Cristine has said you can add oil or w/e but I want to just be able to open my nail polish and go. Superchic also dries super fast which is a must for me.
That being said... I wasn't aware of some of the issues with the Superchic creator that I just read about in the comments. I also know that Cristine tries to make her products environmentally friendly, so I wonder if that plays a part in it getting sticky/stringy so fast in the bottle.
I agree with you. I do have to apply thinner to the holo taco because they are quite thick. I honestly haven’t bought anything else from holo taco. I think she was more focused on making one coater polishes than making a great formula.
Just based on the thumbnail colors its like a new marker outa the box verses a used one. Holo taco is much more brighter
Lol...you can't just go by my thumbnails, I did add a filter to it to make the colors more vivid. I do think some of the Holo Taco polishes have more holo.
Thank you for a great comparison video! Interesting that some colors I liked better in the Holo Taco brand and some in the Super Chic. Super Chic's green was really pretty. Most of them were almost identical, though.

I have a few Holo Taco polishes, but I do'nt like the brush. At all. The SuperChic brush looks way better, I think I'll give SuperChic a try. Both brands look amazing on your nails

I like the superchic ones better. To me The color seems more saturated and jewel tone like and The holo taco ones seem a bit dull in comparison.
bleeka325 I see what you mean. It seems like holo taco has more holographic pigment which makes it more holo but dulls the color a little bit. Superchics don’t look as holo and therefore have a more saturated color.

On my screen the holo taco yellow one looks more yellow. Maybe that isn't the case IRL. Thanks for the comparison! Been wanting this. Will not buy any Holo Taco because shipping is too expensive for me abroad

Superchic lacquer is better price-wise since both cost the same but superchic has bigger bottles. However, I trust Holo taco more as a brand because Cristine is always very transparent with the quality of her products, even if they’re not all perfect. I will say I like the hue of superchic’s orange polish more than that of Holo taco’s, but it’s not as holographic so I’d go with Holo taco.

Gotaluvpolish Realm of Erotica was my first holo! It’s a great color. I was curious about holo taco and the rainbow collection was the only collection that has interested me so far. I wanted to test it out. I will say they are very holographic but I’m not too impressed with the formula it’s just so thick.
Both have beautiful colors, but it seems like the Super Chic formula would be a little easier to work with. I tend to stick to cream formulas that don't have holos, but these all looked beautiful on you!
Elizabeth 2018 the superchic formula is definitely better and easier to apply because of the larger brush. I’m going to try to thin out my holo taco polishes to see if it helps

I appreciate it and have thus subscribed. 🙂 I recall in one of the more recent #simplypodlogical podcasts, Beyyyn and Cristine mentioned that the actual volume per every single bottle of polish is noticeably higher than what is advertised. They also went into the reason why they probably won't list the actual amount, but I feel good being a Holo Taco fan knowing that they're good people with transparency. I won't be buying from SCL, but I appreciate seeing what the differences are. I don't feel it's a coincidence that after the huge success of Holo Taco, SCL on their IG now reads "The Original Super Glossy Top Coat" (still there last I checked on Oct 2nd). I really like both brands but a like certain colors better in each brand. I like the red, orange and yellow better in super chic. I like the green, blue, purple and magenta better in holo taco.
I agree with you Sara! The red in the Superchic was my first ever indie holo polish so I love that one. The Holo Taco blue is beautiful in the sun!!

I don't buy Superchic for political reasons. But Holo Taco is way too thick and gloopy. I've diluted it to 2/3 thinner to 1/3 polish and it is still gloopy but the finish is destroyed. Part nail chemistry, but my nail friends all say it's very thick and hard to use.
FlickiChicki Wow I haven’t added any thinner to my Holo Tacos yet because I am afraid it’s going to mess up the polish but I’m only going to use few drops to see if that helps
@@TeriWellsNails I've not found thinner to ruin polish until you get pretty heavy on the thinner. Usually it goes matte to my experience in OPI rehab (early DS colors that were fully dried to a ball of goo, not like I could ruin them further) which I don't mind in color necessarily, but in top coat - never. Plus, HT is so thick, it doesn't dry properly - the top dries, but the under bits don't dry out for 1 hour+. I get Cristine prefers a thicker polish, but there's a difference between not flooding cuticles and being unusable. I'm not paying HT prices for polish I have to fix that may not be fixable. I can get Seche Vite top coat for less and for as gloopy as that is, it doesn't need thinner until 1/2 empty.
FlickiChicki Thanks for explaining that! I’ve only used thinner in my Seche vite top coat. I’ve never applied thinner to any of my other polishes.
@@TeriWellsNails yeah, a few drops hasn't made any difference in polish gloss or quality in most polishes.

Teri Wells Nails some of the polishes are different prices based on what type they are. the rainbow holos and the multichromes are $14; the unicorn skins, holodays polishes, and cat polishes are $13; the cremes (indigo away, royal-tea blue, not milky white) and the base coats and top coats are $11. i think these are the same prices cristine announced in each original release video on her channel simplynailogical (idk if she includes the price in the release videos on the holo taco channel as well), and you can fact-check this if you want by watching the release videos.

When doing this type of video's where you are comparing 2 brands, please be consistent in putting each brand always on the same side (e.g. SL left, HT right). Now, it was somewhat confusing. Nevertheless, great video for showing them on different skin and nails.

This was a wonderful comparison. I love superchic, Jens formula is amazing it drys so fast! Holo taco takes forever to dry in my opinion. Great video!

Wierd, mine dry fast, I paint both hands with two normal layers then use fast dry top coat and I’m fully dry in about a minute. I do my nail while heading out the door all the time and never mess them up.
@@nanetterodriguez8989 hi, can you please tell me which fast dry top coat do you use? also do you paint both layers of polish right one after another or do let each coat dry and then after both coats are dry you use top coat?
V V , I use Seche Vite top coat. I normally paint both coats no dry time between, and immediately top coat with nice thick layer of top coat, and it’s dry in about a minute. The only time it has taken longer is if my polish is too thick or if the temperature is a bit to hot. Hope that helps.

I love Cristine but so far she has my least liked formula. It's just too thick. I don't feel like I should need to stock thinner for any polish when there are so many other formulas out there that I can just love right off the bat. Superchic has one of my favorite linear holo formulas of all times. I bought Cristine's rainbow collection, but I really don't see myself using it. I have the superchic shades that are close enough except the yellow. I do agree peromone's really more green leaning. Also I'm not exactly buying that holo taco's formula is this thick because that's Cristine's preference. She's a business woman and should target the average consumer not the polish pro that owns a bottle of thinner. I'm getting to feel more and more like there is a reason no one seems to get PR before these go on sale and she's playing off of FOMO and para social psychology.
Cassie J. I didn’t know the polishes were thick because she liked thick polishes. Holo Taco is a new brand so hopefully she’ll listen to the feedback of her customers and rethink the formula
@@TeriWellsNails She had said in one of her podcasts that she made polishes thick because she prefers thicker formulas and she feels that you can always make a polish thinner but not thicker. I guess I really didn't like that comment because polishes do thicken over time. I find that especially with glitters. Her polishes are pretty, I love her boxes, but I don't think the thick formula will change so I'm a little bummed there.
