    Nice video. Good job restringing your son's bow. You chased the strings, which is the best way to go about it. I have an EZ Press because I work on my bows and my crossbows. Yesterday, a friend called me and asked, "Don't you have a bow press?" I said "Yes", so he brought over his son's youth bow, a Browning Micro Midas 3 and the string and cables were off. Hugh said he didn't know what happened, but I think his son may have drawn the bow and then as he let it back down, twisted/torqued the string, causing it to derail as he let it down. Obviously, I didn't have a chance to take any "before" pics and will have to figure it out as I go. But it looks pretty simple. Your video gave me a chance to review what I was going to have to do to restring it. Thanks, take care. I'm glad your bow is shooting good after your work on it. I'm about to take my phone and take pics of the cams of my bows, so I'll have something on have if this ever happens to me.

    Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine th-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

      those were the factory strings with a lot of shots on them, and they were showing signs of wear and separation and I didn't want the string to blow up in my son's face!! New strings also help with the consistency of the shot...and it was kinda fun to put new, colorful strings on!

    From the look of the video, you didn't back the limb screws out several turns to reduce the pressure you're exerting on the limbs and also making your work easier and safer.

    • @csbracer9447
      @csbracer9447  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are correct, I did not. Probably would have made things easier...

  • @scotthunter2958

    you're suppose to run the bow master under the string and above the cables. would've made the string a lot easier to change.

    This kind of press is so cheap and really frustrating to use, mine broke from the 1st time. I believe it would be much easier if you just pull the bow and stick a screwdriver of any piece of metal in the cams so it can hold it for you while you change the string or put a peep sight ...etc

    • @csbracer9447
      @csbracer9447  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed, it is cheap, though mine has held up well. I’ve done the metal in cam method, it just seemed sketchy but effective.

    Question i just changed my string and cable, do i put wax on it or I don’t have to.

      You shouldn’t have to wax brand new strings, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt!

    Hi, little question there, do the limbs have to be loosened before we start screwing to bring it closer ?

    • @csbracer9447
      @csbracer9447  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope. Just connect properly (I have learned that it's better to put the cable under the string if that makes sense) and slowly start cranking.

      Most people don't know how many counter clockwise turns are safe. One turn to many and you will have a bow explosion. Could cause injury. If your bow string is parallel to the riser, cam timing perfect, bow is shooting good, and you like the draw weight- do not mess with the limb screws. That is all a chore to achieve, so once you have that, leave it alone.

    I just got the same limb vise. Great little tool.

    • @csbracer9447
      @csbracer9447  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed it is a great tool. Having used it several times and used it to change strings a couple of times, I wouldn't mind getting a bigger, more permanent setup; all I need is space for it and the money!

    • @vitodelorto1796
      @vitodelorto1796 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@csbracer9447 it is a little cumbersome to use. But when you need to twist strings or move a cam over to get your bow shooting paper bullet holes- you cant beat it. Sure, not having the tool in the way would be nice, but for limited space and budget bow tinkerers, it is a must have.

    I’m trying to re string my bow and not having any luck with no knowing what goes where 😱😮

    • @csbracer9447
      @csbracer9447  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delay in responding - hopefully you have figured it out. Unfortunately, if you didn't take pics or take notes before you start, it is difficult to figure out where everything goes! You can usually go to the manufacture website and get a diagram or see if you can look at one at a shop or check out a friend's bow or something. Depending on the model and design of your bow, you can sometimes figure out the routing based on the attachment points, etc.
      When in doubt, there's always a TH-cam video! Good luck!

      Its not rocket science but if you thought about it...
      You'd take 1 string off and replace that... Then the next, then the next.
      Like I said... Its not rocket science, just requires thinking before jumping in.
