Ok so I’m fairly good at air hockey for someone who just plays recreationally, but the biggest thing I don’t get is why they are trying to attack the puck so much on blocks? They have a lesser angle of protection the further they stray from the goal. I’m sure there’s a rule I don’t know about, but in theory they should be best served staying close to the net, allowing both for more precise blocks and more reaction time. I guess staying out makes a quick counterattack goal much easier, but I’d much rather trust being able to score a traditional goal than relying on getting beat 9 times just to score maybe twice. Could someone actually good explain what I’m missing?
Actually, it's on my list to record an instructional video on professional Air Hockey defense. The defenses you are seeing are actually better because they help block multiple angles simultaneously. These guys would LOVE to attack a player using a defense near the goal :) It would be easy scores because the closer you get to your goal, the harder it is to block straights. If a player can get straights going against their opponent, it's almost always lights out. So, defenses push out a bit to block the straights, and then pull back to the sides to block both type of bank shots (under and over the mallet). @@centerlineproairhockeyThe transition with the off speed logo is fine for match commentary or live matches(if production gets to that point), but on a highlight video it doesn't serve any purpose.
I remember playing this at an arcade!
I love it!
I freakin *love* air hockey, ever since I was a kid in the 70’s.
Agreed!
thank you to all the game sport and team spirit❤

Gosh i though i was a pro but now i know there is some real pros
Very nice
love how the official score keepers use their fingies
Bars need air hockey
The off speed replay symbol every time the camera changes is annoying
Understood...we can certainly update that for future highlight reels. Thanks!
