He's an excellent lyricist and singer but his voice was already starting to go out here. Whole song is tuned down a couple steps from the recording so he can actually sing it. They have to do that with a lot of their older material and especially gray race for some reason
I had never listened to BR much until Napster came along while I was in college. I inadvertently downloaded News from the front and dowloaded as much BR that was available the next day. 20+ years later i'm still a huge fan!
Man I wish this song would have been included on the US version of STF. Really great song. I'm glad that Jay pushed for the song to be brought back for their live shows
im pretty sure its in b sides but you can find it in other ones too..correct me if im wrong , very nice video nftf its one if not my fave song of br , 5 stars
yep, greg graffin is mind-blowing articulate, and their melodies are extremely catchy. bad religion are in my favourite 3 bands of all time; the other 2 are incubus and rage against the machine
If Wikipedia's line is accurate, this song was recorded to be a bonus track for 'Stranger Than Fiction' albums that were only distributed in countries in Europe and Brazil and Japan. Perhaps they recorded them('Markovian Process' and 'Leaders and Followers' being the other two bonuses.) outside America after the album was released in America.(I bought the inferior American version many years before I even knew the bonus tracks exist.) I'm not sure; does this answer the question you had?
They are a football field away from the fans. Punk bands should only play Indie venues, my kids will never know a true punk show until they bring us back together
They don't play this one live very much. I saw them do it a few times on the New Maps of Hell tour. Being war times and all the song could be perceived to fit in very well, but in all reality the song is actually about the AIDS epidemic. True story.
This is a slightly different version of News from the front i actually like this one better then the album version. Do they have this version recorded? or is it just for when they play it live?
best fucking game ever. its funny cause they had hip hop songs in there that got stuck in my head and i actually enjoyed them. i hate hip hop and rap tho. they picked some kick ass songs.
oldest (by current age) playing punk band and still good, only other good punk bands with older members that i know of are Hladno Pivo (Croatia) and Goblini (Serbia), so fuck yeah

Yeah there's this thrash band I like called Forced Entry, and they have a very sick live recording, but it's the same problem, and there's these dorky security guys blocking the stage. This one: th-cam.com/video/3iryxSnuO38/w-d-xo.htmlm08s
One of their best and most underrated songs! The lyrics and energy are amazing! I would love to see them play this live..
Literally my two favorite Bad Religion performed in one video! What more could I ask for?
Same here!
People really don't grasp how proficient Greg is at singing
lyrics ans fitting every word on that first verse is crazy
I said that the first time I saw BR, understood every song.
I love his voice, you're right! It's so solid, effortless, and his runs are beautiful! Fuck I miss the old days!

Great sound! Great Songs! And great singing too. Even Baker stroke the right notes there. ;)
I think it is a new addition to their set-list. They played it here in Seattle in November '08 en route to their fall Canadian tour.

Great songs.... Can anyone tell what Greg says at 2:29 ?? Sounds like he says "What are the lyrics?"
They are a football field away from the fans. Punk bands should only play Indie venues, my kids will never know a true punk show until they bring us back together

It's a good thing that I wasn't there... my head would have exploded as a result of too much awesome.
Biennnn argentina jorge arriola
This is a slightly different version of News from the front i actually like this one better then the album version. Do they have this version recorded? or is it just for when they play it live?
Wow the singer looks a principal
@MetalFusion337 it is only shorter (they cut the solo and that rest) and combined with big bang. why should they have recorded it?
@blz346 Maybe... But he loves what he's doing...
Baker actually sounds GOOD here. Awesomeness
@RiseAgainstJp do you mean tony hawk's pro skater got you into bad religion :)?
Somebody please show me festival BR show (contemporary) where crowd isnt lame? ;/
news from the front is in stranger than fiction
I don't know....they don't really seem as amped up like in the studio version...maybe it's a live thing, you have to be there to really like it.
News from the frooooooooooooooooooooooooooooont : D
A Bad Religion song I've never heard, and it's good too... I now feel ashamed.

best fucking game ever. its funny cause they had hip hop songs in there that got stuck in my head and i actually enjoyed them. i hate hip hop and rap tho. they picked some kick ass songs.
@blz346 you would sound tired if you were singing a song like big bang.
Ichigo is a punk!!!!! he never is on school and always kicking asses like a bad mother fucker... good choice Tite Kubo
greg looks like he either is having trouble remember the lyrics, or really doesn't want to be singing news from the front
oldest (by current age) playing punk band and still good, only other good punk bands with older members that i know of are Hladno Pivo (Croatia) and Goblini (Serbia), so fuck yeah

Kurosaki ichigo
greg doesn't look excited to be playing this song...
Ichigo Kurosaki sent me here.\m/
THE BAND IS TOO MUCH FOR THE PUBLIC. APLANADORA!!!
They were all really fucking tired from the flogging molly concert that was just before bad religion
there's no free lunch

I would say "Welcome to paradise" by Green Day is a better song for Ichigo
Is it just me or is EVERYONE here because of Kurosaki Ichigo? I know I am.
Thumbs up if u looked this up because of bleach
not tired, but playback souds really boring..
There's no playback at all
I love him, but graffin sounds very tired.

This is the least-animated I've ever seen Graffin when performing live =\
