Wow 1:452:504:20~ Hi Paul! I just wanted to say a huge THANKS for all your help with this special variant of Nocturne Op. 9/2. I’ve learned so much from you, over the years, and it’s been a blast! Your notes were spot on - they made all those tricky parts way easier to get my head around. And your videos are absolute lifesavers. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried replayed the songs on your channel. Each time I'm picking up something new. And you made a custom sheet music for this video?? That's not the same one directly copy/pasted from the IMSLP version! Your personal touches in the scores really made all the difference. That's a treasure to all the classical piano lovers. Cheers, Frank
Thank you for delivering a beautiful memory for me today with this wonderful piece. My husband George and I visited Chopin’s grave in Paris in 2015 and this tune was being played at the time so we put a love lock on the side fence to keep Chopin “alive “ in our hearts. Our padlock was two hearts with the words “close to you “ and R and G 2015 on reverse. Such wonderful memories. We are celebrating 50 years anniversary in December and are hoping to visit Chopin again ❤
Such grace and beautiful singing tone you presented that warms my heart with Chopin’s music ! Thank you for sharing the rich gift of music in your heart with us ! ❤
==> Bravo! You seem to have channeled your inner Fryderyk. One can imagine him at the keyboard, experimenting with various complex and lyrical embellishments. Thanks very much for this eye-opening [and ear-opening] rendition! . . . .
Uhhh….WOW! When I bought a piano about 15 years ago and started teaching myself classical songs, this song was one of the main ones I was determined to learn, and it took several months. Listening to this masterpiece reminds me how truly bad I play. 😅 I’m ok with being a total amateur though, but seriously your playing inspires joy and makes me love the instrument all the more!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My teacher would always reprimand me when I called a piece of music a song......he told me a song was only a melody with wars and voice and a piece was a composition or melody😅
@@cslej1676 oh....wow..,that's amazing that you're self taught... congratulations.....I suffer from mild attention deficit disorder...so I have to really try hard to sit at the piano and learn patience for myself
@@helenavondrakenstein4969 same here. I don’t know how I managed to do it except determination and one or two bars at a time. I have about 10-20 pieces or partial pieces in my repertoire that I learned this way. I cannot read music and play at the same time so once a piece is memorized I only use the sheet music for reference and play strictly by muscle memory. Not the best way but when things go well it brings me joy and that’s the main reason I play. More often though I get frustrated by my appalling skills and walk away. 😣
I Adore This Piece Of Chopin & With Your Personalised Variants, Just Love It & How It All Comes Together. You Play The Piano Magnificently & I Thank You So Much For These Videos. ❤
A friend of mine introduced me to this variant, I loved it! It sounds rly enjoyable 🥰 The dissonant notes and a lot of the extra quialteras, brought out moments of spontaneous 'improvisation' and scherzando time a little bit 😊
Love to read all the hate comments that Chopin didn’t write this. Like just take two seconds to look it up lol. Anyways great playing! I’ll have to give these variations a try myself!
I remember reading somewhere that Liszt had performed this Nocturne to Chopin. However Liszt had added his own ornaments and was told by a dissatisfied Chopin to stick to the score. I hear fragments of Liszt’s pianism in this version, perhaps his performance to Chopin would have sounded something like this.
Purists: why did you play P in bar 54 when it's written mP?! Also, if you were meant to arpeggiate the chord the composer would have written so. Meanwhile in Chopinland: 3:08
How dare you play this beautiful nocturne with these "variants",whose variants are these? I know they are not chopin's,stick to the music as composed, you can not improve on perfection, play what chopin wrote and don't add or cut any notes, they are perfect as originally writen, your performance is a dissapointment

I only ever fantasized you playing this version. I actually dropped everything when I saw this come up. Okay, back to registering for classes now...
I learn so much for watching you play. And of course there's just the pleasure of listening!
Beautiful. I hadn’t thought of playing the figure in bars 31-32 with two hands, brilliant! Thanks Paul!

Because the original was not difficult enough! Incredibly well played.
WOWWWW!! Awesome! ❤Thanks for sharing a beautiful hidden gem 💎
Thank you Paul Barton.Very beautiful ❤️❤️

1:45 Wow, Crazy.

Bravo Paul!
De toute beauté 🎶💙🎶Merci beaucoup 🎶Une grande émotion dans mon cœur 🎶
Amazing. Now I must learn this version
haha, this is so chopinesque, beatiful playing!
Totally subscribed!… when is your next concert?❤👏
Complimenti
Ce morceau est incroyable. Chopin était un génie.
So lovely, thank you !❤️❤️❤️
Música que faz você voar não sei prá onde e pensar não sei em quem!!! LINDA!
Beautiful!
Maravilloso como Siempre @Paul Barton✨☀️✨ ✨Bendito ✨2024✨ para tod☀️s Ustedes 🌈🌈🌈☀️
marvelous. just marvelous, really.
Bravo, loved it 👏
E qui arriva la seconda lacrima. Mi commuove. La prima con The Enterteiner , poi questo brano. L'animo si è aperto e lasciato andare dalle emozioni .
After all, this is a typical waltz piece, not a nocturne. I think Chopin liked this melody... it clearly comes from the folk music of that time.
Excellent ❤
Can you learn la campanella ?
Magnificent! 🎆

@tomaszedwards7616 I think the same as you.
This version is not for intermediate pianists, and can be challenging even for advanced pianists.
Nice. I like this version. Maybe because I've heard the standard one so often. The ending is a bit extreme.
Beautiful!! Can you do a tutorial for Liszt’s Un Sospiro?
Esta versión la hace más semejante al resto de nocturnos
❤❤❤❤❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Happy New year to all your family Geraldine north Wales England
🤩 🤯 💥 🤯 💥
Is this a score originally found in Chopin manuscript? I really want to know bcz it sound really complete compared to normal version to my ear dk …

Si par incroyable Chopin était encore au purgatoire, vous venez de le faire passer illico au paradis!
🙏💕🌷
sounds a lot like the original
I'm not sure those variants are from Chopin
This gorgeous piece you performed so well. Just beautiful.cheers. Lugero.🎹🎶👏🩵
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Bar 24!!!!!
Did chopin actually wrote this?
Thats a bit beyond me - I`ll stick to the one I can play
Lol why does this version feel way more like chopin. Original seems kind of watered down now
박자가 엉망이군요.;;;;;
lol
Chopin would never have written such shit in his life🤮
