A lot of people cry because after 4 days of partying, good times and nice people, everyone realises that it's over and they have to go about their daily business.

Defqon is a yearly music festival in the Netherlands that almost exclusively plays harddance music (harstyle, Hardcore, Uptempo, Frenchcore etc.). It lasts 4 days and people from over a 100 different countries visit. It has 14 different stages, and the one you are looking at in this video is the main (red) stage. Over the weekend there are a couple of special shows like this one including the saturday endshow (with more fireworks and performances that lasts over 20 minutes) and power hour that has crazy mixes with daytime fireworks and airshows (performed by redbull) and stage performances + loads of inflatables).
If you have the time to check out more (on or of camera) i would recommend a saturday endshow (perhaps the one from this year) and power hour. They also have segments in Power hour that they do every year that you can check out like Defqon 1 2023 Earthquake Crowd Control - Left To Right | Power Hours.

The reason so many people were emotional and crying was because it was the first edition of Defqon1 (or any party/festival for that matter) in 3 years..
This because of the "event" that swept over the world the years prior.
And for a lot of them it was their first time EVER since the festivals have a minimum age of 18 years and up and when they reached that age, the entire world went under lock and key.
And it was never certain these festivals would ever happen again as a lot were in severe financial trouble because of all the restrictions.
So to be able to finally let loose after all those years was the reason for the tears.
Thats also the reason they used a Phoenix as the theme on the main stage.
To "rise from the ashes"
Defcon 1 2022 was in the spirit of The Phoenix, rising from the ashes of pain, missery and uncertainty of the pandamic times.
One of my sons have been to Defqon in the Netherlands 3 times and he loves it. It is once per year. I am too old for that 😂 We are swedish, and I am sure people around the world travel to the closest Defqon festival if they love that music.

I'm Swedish and there's no limit to how "old" people attending defqon are, I´ve only been once but I saw all kinds of ages. Just enjoy the festival in your on pace. :)

The closest Defqon 1 is in the Netherlands. There used to be editions in Australia (and I believe somewhere in South-America too) but it got scrapped. There is only 1 Defqon 1, the original. And like other's have mentioned, you are definitely never too old for Defqon. I've met people in their 60s (although they didn't stay the whole weekend I believe.) Some people just buy saturday tickets to watch the endshow, I'm not even kidding.

Defqon is super big in europe, however not many american knows about it. Spred the word. More people need to see this

07:04 Exactly my feeling when i saw these vids in like 2016/2017, visited Defqon 1 in 2022 for the first time, for the entire weekend, and I can say only 1 thing, It's an UNREAL feeling being there in person, goosebumps up until this day watching these shows back. Best weekend of the year hands down, If you're planning on going there, i'd say go for the entire weekend, that feeling of being there for 3 or 4 days is just unreal! Can't even describe how much better it is than going for a single day!

I've been to the first two festivals in 2003 and 2004, which was incomparable to the last two times in 2015 en 2016.
The festival is from Thursday (camping) until Sunday, lets say monday.
The normal camping attendance is about 45.000 which peaks with day visitors to 80.000.
I was working there so I received the 'playbook', the blueprint for the entire festival. This show you see may cost up to a few hundred thousand dollars, and is solely a big "thank you" to the visitors.
There's people from over 80 countries all over the world, I've seen Australians, Chileans, Americans, Japanse...and everyone is there to make it the best edition ever.
I've never seen someone in trouble (even though the drug use is so significant that surrounding waters have to be filtered.
I've had my run with this music back in 2001 so my 40 year old ass won't drag me there anymore, but I'll always get fully hyped and full of love when I watch these clips.
Probably the best organisation in the Netherlands.
Defqon 1 2022 was the first proper defqon 1 after covid-19, probably why there was a lot of emotion.
This was the first defqon after covid. That‘s why people are that emotional. A lot of them lost friends or family. And this amazing production and music really hits hard in a scenario like that.
If you can listen to these words, feel this energy and not cry then it’s just one of those things that’s can’t really be explained man. I’ve never been to a defqon festival and I can’t help but cry the whole way through this.

This is not regular festival like tomorrowland ultra miami. This is hardstyle real European festival. Everyone cry because this is last time they dance together as I need tribe. They need to wait till next year to go there. I been there last year. I'm so happy I became tribe member before dead. Hardstyle not that much popular in western it's more European. No display no fancy screens only pure light and pyrotechnics only. 4 days pure energy.q dance now over 11 years old and they have there small (not small at all) festival in Australia. Netherland is the big one with 14 stages . This is end ritual and sun day is the end show that one way beyond. Also the 1 song play by harddriver made year ago and he kept it almost year for this moment and second song ( who we are ) 12 years old song this is gospel version

Hell yeah..didn't even notice you had a hardstyle reaction neal i love this music and the variations of hardstyle i listen to harcore and raw these days i discovered this in 2008 first song was headhunterz-scantraxx roots,i still listening to it for now and till the end❤should watch gearbox digital(yt channel),so juice(dj)-poleposition set goes for about 40 mins,although its very aggressive and not for everyone but extremely crazy and high energy alot of heavy kicks and bass theres really "no chill"at all...pure madness but amazing🤯😵🔥

This year, 2024, will be the 20th anniversary edition. Im sure Q-Dance will go all out to make it special. I was there for this. Was my first Defqon and yes, it was special. Had my ticket for 2020, but we all know what happened in 2020 and 2021. My hype was built for almost 3 years! Was there in 2023 also and have my ticket for this year already. Cant wait!!
It's all about being free. Being together with brothers and sister enjoying the same energy and believing in the future. After this you have to wait for another year to come together again.
People being emotional is a given at the closing ritual, it's basicly the ending of the 4 day festival, 2022 was extra loaded, because it was the first getting tpgether after the pandamic hit, hence the theme song we will rise again, love your reaction to this bro, would love to see more! 💚
