I highly recommend anyone intending to use this video while they are building their kit to watch both part 1 and 2 in their entirety before beginning assembly. I guess Jeff works for Align, but it seems this is his first 450L build. He makes a few mistakes and has to disassemble parts after the fact, but never even mentions that he did so, and the parts are just magically disassembled in a later part of the video. He then tells you he didn't follow the manual and that you should, but never takes the time to edit the video before he made the mistake to give you a heads up. He also zooms in part way through part 1 and forgets to zoom out so most of the time you are looking at the Trex logo on the cloth he is working on while the part that you actually want to see is happening off camera. Then he says that there will be a part 3 and 4 which have never come to fruition. For an amazing kit and an industry standard company, I would expect a better official build video. I know that to the pro's a 450 model is small potatoes, but c'mon, you can do better. Just trying to help out anyone else out there building their first Align kit like me.

A good set of pliers or a vise will work well for stabilizing the rod. Then the ball link will be much easier to turn onto the threads. Best Regards, Jeff.

Me too, I've only been flying micros so far (couple of 100 size, a nice blinged 130x, had a 300x for a few days before pulling the beastx and selling the airframe and a trex 250) I am really torn between 450L or trex500

I find toothpicks come in handy for applying loctite into the threads.

Man, I was really interested in this but I seemed to have missed 90% of it done off screen while I was looking at parts on the table.

Jeff, cool.. Very useful. Don’t you have the 3rd part, do you? Tail boom assembling? So it will be a complete info. Thanks JM.

good video however every build i see they make one mistake the main shaft supports should be tightened last with the shaft in This assures alignment between bearings

I wonder how you will put in the tail boom mount AFTER you have locktighted your frame together - guess I should get my answer in part two...

I recently got bitten by the bug of flying RC heli's and was looking to go up a level to the 450's. Was looking around but before finishing up on research, out of no where my Mrs brought me one for my birthday. Never had one before but she didn't realise and nether did I, that the kit she brought is technically half of the helicopter. So going by the manual I've got about another £280 to spend on electronics that are "required for assembly" BEFORE even thinking about a transmitter!? Bit of a shock in all honesty and an innocent mistake.

Oh yeah, if I can't get anything done about my situation and am stuck with this 450 dominator (6s) - can I go ahead a build then fit the required electronics in there later?

IRON MAN You should probably start out with something a little less expensive as your first heli. Check this out... www.ehirobo.com/copterx-cx450-black-angel-dfc-flybarless-kit.html

John Rovere thanks for the reply but I've been reading up, joining the heli community and it's pointless spending more money on another build to "walk up a ladder". Putting the money into a simulator & good TX so I can practise all year around. Appreciate your time though, the UK doesn't have a great range of options from trusted sources that are either cheap, reliable - so that's also another reason to go sim.
