I’ve been worried about it because it’s needed soon and I had no idea where to start. As im up early getting a head start on finding how to do it, so I can turn it in, your video is the FIRST one I come across. When I say you are lifesaver! Most videos they’re talking way too much along with moving too fast. This is for an older version, but almost of the features and characteristics have carried forward to successive Excel releases.

WHEN YOU selected range of cells and then centered it, after you clicked enter and typed another number in new unselected cell you sounded like surprised by saying WELL in a different voice lol not expecting it to center itself, that would be the case if you skipped one cell and picked another under it it will not center itself, thus aligning by tapping the top column F or anyother letter will be the best choice, thanks i learn a lot from your videos, great work
You are absolutely right and quite perceptive. What I see Excel is doing is assuming the new centered alignment is what I wanted so it continued to center align, in contiguous cells. Had I hit enter a second time (i.e., skipped a row), the default right-alignment (for numbers) would have occurred. Thanks for commenting!

Trying to make an inventory spreadsheet for pricing artworks - I thought it would be slightly less painful than going to the dentist. Thanks so much, your tutorial was really clear, and made it easy and ...FUN!
I'm glad you persevered. Excel is a tremendous program and once you learn the basics you can really add on to your capabilities over time and use it for multiple tasks. You can also insert hyperlinks into cells and link to images of the actual artwork pieces. Beats a root canal any time!

I went for an interview, explained that I had never used Excel and expected to skip that part, was presented with it and told to try! I had absolutely no idea!, now 10 years later and 5 years retirement I want to use excel again and I have forgotten everything! Hoping this will fill in the gaps (no! The void) in my brain!!!😂
