    Great video. I’ve been intimidated by excel my whole life but feel like it’s simpler than I made it up to be.

      It can get really complex, but the basics are really the foundation of everything and aren't terribly hard to master quickly. I'm so glad it helped you! :)

    I already have questions. How do you hide/unhide columns and delete columns? Also I saw someone take a portion or a spreadsheet and drop into a word doc and it turned into a table. How do you do that? Best Excel class I’ve seen on TH-cam. ❤

    • @AskYourComputerGuy
      @AskYourComputerGuy  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      To the first question, Select one or more columns, and then press Ctrl to select additional columns that aren't adjacent. Right-click the selected columns, and then select Hide. To the second question, you should just be able to select the cells you want to put into word, hit ctrl-c to copy to the clipboard, then in Word, hit ctrl-v to paste

    Thank you! This is great for the Uber basics. I will share with my staff. Do you have like a Part 2 more advanced video to learn functionality? I use excel as a clinical nurse educator and want to learn how to create staff lists and see if there is a way to have a function where let’s say for example someone’s certification was expiring I could set up an algorithm or formula to high the date in the sheet when the date is approaching expiration like 30 days out and shows up yellow or shows up red when it’s expired? This is to help keep track of staff records and compliance. Thanks again!!

    Can you point me to a video on how to format a column to hyperlink multiple email addresses at the same time that are plain text and currently not linked? Also, is there a way to change the hyperlinked emails so that when they are selected they use the contacts from my Google contacts rather than pulling up Microsoft Outlook?

    • @AskYourComputerGuy
      @AskYourComputerGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll have to look on the first part. The second part, Excel will open the default mail program using the "mailto:" tag in the hyperlink. To my knowledge, there is no way to get it to open Google contacts. That being said, if you set up Outlook or Thunderbird to be your mail program, and configure your Gmail account there, it *would* work that way

    Is a worksheet another word for a spreadsheet?

    • @AskYourComputerGuy

      No. A worksheet is one "page" of a spreadsheet. You can have 1 or 10000 worksheets inside a single spreadsheet

      Honestly, it kinda did. People tend to think TH-camrs have it all together from minute one, that we are professional audio and video experts with unlimited budgets. We aren't. We spend hundreds and thousands of hours working hard to maybe one day make enough money and buy the equipment so people will take us seriously. I have a thick skin (have to on THIS channel). Guess you just caught me in a mood. All is forgiven. Unless I still suck as bad as I did then...then you have permission to blast me 😂😂😂
