Hi all~ anyone watching this video just so you know that any white on the Port Authority or canvas tote bags do not print. The skeleton in 'Namaste Spooky' does not show so if you were to recreate on a tote bag- please change the color of the skeleton. The 'Boo' I ordered a sample of and the white did not print(it still looks cute though) but this I will address in a future video. This specific 'Namaste Spooky' design I put on a Sand Gildan 18000- this duo black and white design looks great on neutral colored t-shirts, hoodies & sweatshirts.
@@itsheatherstudio thank you Heather I'm new to this trying to teach myself all of these things but after I asked you that I just stopped and thought for a minute and knew it needed to be transparent because I didn't want a background but now I'm having an issue with shipping I listed alot on prinify and went to Etsy to finish and got to shipping there is alot on there can I just go on and delete all shipping and reset up shipping profiles
One of the many things I appreciate about you is your honesty & hard work in bringing us so much info on POD! 🥰 Also I may briefly faint first if i see a spider on my wall LOL
Heather please don’t worry, we all have a few glitches. Thank you for bringing it up. The important thing is that everyone learns from any mistake. So as far as I’m concerned it’s all good and this is something I wanted to learn ore about. So if you’d done it as you usually do we wouldn’t have all the details in this video 😁 so thank you for checking it out for us. It’s valuable information that we can all learn from. Mistakes are the most important part of learning. Thank you so much for clarifying it all. No harm done. 🕊🌸
When you added the second "B" I was like "Oh, we're making this kind of shirt today!" haha! Thank you for making such a detailed and informed video! You helped get my creativity flowing again!
Thank you so much for your video, it was very informative to hear about the different licenses.....please....there is a very quick and easy way to get rid of bugs and spiders in a nice way. First take a clear glass and trap the spider on the wall inside the glass (simply place the glass over the spider) then get a bit of card and slide in between the rim of the glass and the wall....being careful not to harm the bug/spider...finally with the card and glass (with the spider trapped inside) take it outside, remove to card and release the bug ....I do this to get rid of wasps, bees etc too. Hope I save a couple of bugs with this.....but your POD element was great. I'm currently building my Etsy shop 😉🌺
They aren’t excuses, the are valid reasons. And human error is inevitable. It would never be your fault for possibly misleading someone either, as we all have a responsibility to research every step we take in the POD process. This stands for reading the licenses. And just like how everything in life can change and even get updated, licenses can too! It’s our responsibility to take due diligence.
Dont do Monster Digital right now with their tshirts and sweatshirts. They used to be my number one print provider but apparently they are updating their equipment and I have a bunch of orders that still havent shipped after 6 and 7 days production time. They have been having quality control issues as well. A good one right now is Swiftpod. They are getting orders out quickly.
I started to develop a phobia of spiders in my basement and honestly, the best thing was to make myself trap them in a jar, slide a piece of paper under and put them outside. I became less afraid and also stopped killing the little beasties that eat other bugs I don't like. Maybe worth thinking about.
Yes I'm so happy that someone is willing to show us all the info on licensing. I'm so dumb and I need someone to explain all these specific things and what I can or can't do for print on demand for clothing and for digital prints. I'm hoping in the future you are able to do a video explain all of the specifics :) thank you for the great video.
Wonderful video Heather! Also, I really appreciate your accountability and also the fact that you share everything you can with us so we are making informed decisions in the POD space. Great work! ❤
Poor spiders! 🕷 I was told It's actually good to have some harmless spider in the house because they feed on house pests like mosquitoes or flies that are a lot more bothersome 😉 Great video as always. By making that mistake and telling us about it you have taught us sth important 👍🏻
@@fretwireonfire I don't think it's all that irrational given that there ARE harmful spiders, but you just need to know what you have in your area and learn to recognize them. I normally catch them under a glass and simply throw them out of the window
Hi Heather, Hope you’re doing fine. Please if you’re reading this, could you tell us that are we allowed to use renown quotes from authors or famous people as a text design on tshirt or hoodies? Or do we require some sort of license for that? Many thanks.
Hi Omar, I am not a legal expert so I cannot say a direct no or yes but there is a way to search these here: www.copyright.gov/ I personally have not used quotes as these are forms of intellectual property and can skate on the line of infringement. From what I have been told, it's best to avoid quotes. This is why I personally do not use any quotes in my t-shirts.
I don't usually click affiliate links, but your content is very good. I see you put a lot into it. Thank you. If I decide to set up accounts with any of the companies you list, I will definitely use your affiliate links. Least I can do.
Thank you for your information. But please don't kill spiders. You can catch them with cotton cloth or something and throw them outside of your window or room.
Omg I also leave the dead spider on the wall to “scare” off the other ones. My favorite tool to use is my husband 😂 but if he’s not around… I use tape 😅
I don't kill them. Especially cellar spiders or daddy long legs because they eat bigger spiders, mosquitos, earwigs, etc. My daughter and I name them. :) The other spiders I usually relocate outside.
I'm going to feel dumb after this I bet - at the end of the video when you were creating the pictures of the bag - out of no where, you have a picture of a bag that you inserted your graphics on to......did you get that tote bag picture from the supplier or something?
I read recently about this and ordered samples on one of these designs(coming in next week). I plan on doing a sample review as Printify states that white does not print on natural canvas tote bags. The Namaste Spooky will be a poor print if so but the Ghosts should still come out... we will see as I'm hoping that the design prints okay even with the white being removed.
@Heather, your video goes to show that users of graphic design software do not read the license agreement. As you have shown you did the right thing by incorporating other components, to make the design unique and different to just putting a copy an paste one element and hoping that it passes. By also approching the parties concerened in the correct procedure of their terms of use, goes to show that you have read their terms of fair use agreement.
Heather, check out a company called Pestie for DIY bug control. I just used them and it was great, easy, and quite affordable than bringing a monthly spray guy in. Also, I live in the desert so I get a lot of scorpions, I use a rubber mallet (dollar tree has them) and a wet paper towel. Wham bam, I throw the paper towel down on it and smash it with the mallet, then the paper towel is also clean up. lo.
I used to be terrified of all spiders even the small ones, then I moved to south Texas… let’s just say a quarter sized spider is a small one! 😂 Being constantly terrorized by huge spiders eventually blunts your fear of the small ones 🙈
So you drag and dropped your graphic into Printify and that makes it so you can print on demand? Because I did not see an option to download a graphic onto Printify
@heatherstudio Very informative video, thank you for educating us! What concerns Canva Pro elements - I wonder if it is ok to put all pro elements, from the same designer, onto one t shirt? Were all your used ghosts pro and from the same designer? I am making such a design now, and it seems somehow not fair actually, just a strange feeling it is not ok to do like this..? Would really appreciate your thoughts!
Hi Heather! This may seem random, but I noticed on the product description for the canvas tote that it says it won’t print any white areas. I’m just curious if you have a clear answer on this because I made a design with white and I noticed you did too! Any info would be helpful. Thanks!
Do you ever worry about a font or element being too thin? Like the ghosts have a fairly thin outline, and I've worried before that if it's too thin, the graphic will wear out faster on a t-shirt or not show up well, etc. Do you have any "rules of thumb" that you follow for this?
Thank you for explaining all this with me. I have canva and I didnt know about the license. Luckily I have been altering all my designs and adding lots to it so I dont think ive violated anything/

Hi, just for debate, Don't you think if a POD or for that matter any company amends it term or conditions or License detail it's their duty to inform it's users by just dropping an email to keep it's users Updated rather then Penalising them?......there should be a Rule or Law pertaining what just be mentioned.
Do you know if it’s okay to upload a wall art bundle (each page with a single canva pro element) but a colored background instead of the plain white background? Hope that question makes sense😃
Oh how funny. I think our wonderful TH-cam friend, Heather, needs to have a one night only TH-cam show on Spiders and Insects. Stop right there and do not kill the spider. Spider's are good insects that catch flies and eat them. Just let it walk into a paper bag and then shake the bag outside.
A piece of paper and a cup works great for safely getting the spiders outside to where they are safe. Instead of worrying about spiders, which you swallow plenty of in your sleep over your lifetime, think about all of the bacteria partying and having a good time on your skin as you film, not the little spiders just trying to live their lives in the corner and not bothering anyone. Puts things in perspective, lol
