Morning team, can I make a request please? Could you post an aerial image of the new site and the old one if you can, so it's possible to get some perspective of old and new? Are they adjacent? You may have already done it, in which case, my apologies, could you point me towards it? Thanks
I can’t believe you went to the bulb cupboard and found the bulb you needed. This. Never. Happens 🤣. You will always have every other bulb but NEVER the bulb you need….
When you handle the headlight bulbs like you have the oil from your fingers allows the bulbs to blow prematurely.. Do not touch the glass... Use tissue or cardboard that comes supplied.. 😉
Someone mentioned painting your water tank black or yellow to avoid the problem you have with water tanks because of direct sunlight. Hopefully you see this and it helps you
When I drove trucks there was always a set of bulbs in the cab, should one blow say in the afternoon I could get back to the yard in a winters evening. I did the same for each car I bought and just topped them up when one was used. Never got pulled once by the old bill, plus they then have an excuse to go fishing for more things.
The struggle is real. But struggle has met its match in Daniel. Nothing but admiration for that chap. A true leader, grafter and inspiration for hard working men whatever they do.
Good Job Daniel, and all the Ashville teams, Associates on such a momentous and for me emotional occasion seeing the new Yard’s 1st Train of material arrive, unload, and depart safely. Another great achievement and episode. Daniel, Take Care, and one and All. It’s going to be a good week 🤗❤️
I used to work in a quarry during University on my holidays. I'm sure you have thought of this, but what if you had a mobile conveyor that the LH60 could unload into. This conveyor could then be used to move the material farther & higher than the loading shovels. It could in theory then move with the LH60 to the next wagon or stay within a radius the LH60 could reach. In theory, this would cut down on the amount of material movement by the shovels, saving time & fuel.
Daniel’s energy and dedication to his company, employees and clients is fantastic and it’s a fascinating looking in to the daily battles running a company
Diversifying into entertainment is such an incredible strategy! I have been puzzled trying to figure out the incentive behind the intentionality of Ashville video productions until now. I am excited to see how this venture turns out!
This is a complement with a twist. You do your best to be neat &tidy - sweep the concrete on your rail track - rearrange the blocks to prevent an accident etc. How ever the cupboard where you keep the bulbs for the transport to stay on the road, inside it is a guessing game to find the right bulb. Should you have kept that so that the items where stacked in order, marked - you would have seen what you have, (infect missing items would have been ordered thus making sure that you always had the required item) instead of "You are lucky I have found the last one so that you can go out in the morning". But then the cupboard is kept closed so it it not noted that there are a jumble of bulbs & when next time when a bulb is needed you will be happy to scratch around to try & find the right bulb. That toy that you bought for the use of finding metal on the ground -you were going to push it when/while you walked the yard. Why don't you get someone that does walk around to use it rather that just keeping it in the cupboard waiting for you to use. If you were to show us weekly what was found while the toy was doing it's job we could see how much or little collected preventing punchers.
Daniel, What you need is a few more drag on flat beds, you can buy twistlock drag on beds and you should minimise machine on machine off time, also the driver time. Try MOD sales, whitham sales Grantham.
Hi Danielle hope this helps as regards the algae in your tanks we either paint them or cover them to stop the light getting in that stops the algae we capture rainwater for the allotment hope this is helpful keep up the good work colin
Hi Daniel, the local module building company by me use the old curtains off curtain sided trailers to protect the open sides of office units that come back to there yard🤔
I've done a lot of work for Portakabin, and that's exactly how they protect open sided units in storage. (OK, so Portakabin have tailor made curtains for this, but it's the same fabric used to make curtainsides.)
Yeah train in for the first time and many more to come!! Can’t wait to see both lines been used and to see the progress of building Asheville stronger!!
Dan, why don’t you have the lights on a timer so they come on just before the first person is due in. Or put a master switch on or near the front gate. The other thing to consider are solar floodlights with sensors in key areas. On reception train you could put the carriage against the fence and just have your walkway on the same side as your car entrance separated by a fence. You could the do away with the ramp up and down and just have stairs into the carriage. For disabled access you can have a wheelchair lift integrated into the stairs or by the side.
for each lorry maybe get all the relevant bulbs and keep it in the glove box. Include all the spare bulbs in it for all lights, so if a bulb does go out on the road, youre prepared to change it asap
DANIEL, you need to improve your bulb storage, might I suggest some bins/boxes that are labeled with the globe type and which vehicle/s it is used in and ideally what for. e.g. H7 Volvo Headlight. this will save time hunting through that mess for the right globe and make it easy to see when restocking is required. Keep up the good work.
Brilliant seeing that 1st train in, going to be great for the business. Re lorry lights been there done that, nearly got caught out but after that squeaky bum moment always kept a spare set in the cab, which saved my skin on more than one occasion. When your running plant, its always important to keep on top of the maintenance, if you don't it becomes very, vry expensive. Can't wait until you get your 1st 29 carriage train in. 👍
So exciting watching the train coming in! 🎉 Feels like such a milestone! What a palava about the random office. Memo to self, don't purchase items you don't need on bidding sites 😂😂 What a shame about a vehicle incident right at the end! So lucky that no one wasn't hurt! That's the main thing.
Lord knows if you will read this but as you asked the universe/internet on your Thurs-Fri, I just wanted to say my answer, not as a I-ching, but just to vocalize my experience with jobs and payment in the race to the bottom as you have mentioned many many times before. As long as after expenses you are making a small amount of reasonable profit, and are clear to your client that you are doing them a favor with the price and time, being available is more important than being a company/individual who is squeezing someone for a few extra dollars. I of course have no idea of your stresses or list of expenses on any job you have of course, but in my experience, being available and trustworthy and honest about both ends as everyone is trying to make a living, is better that way overall. Good luck. Also, love the vlog and the effort and openness you share. Truly inspiring.

I had to leave the construction industry due to a car crash (SHIT HAPPENS) . And your channel helps me sort of stay in it and keep upto date with it all . thanks Daniel. love it . keep up the videos
Daniel you have cement. Fill up bulk bags of cement then take it throw it on your road sweep around wet down create a crust on top of the road. To strengthen the top of the road. Less chance of it going to slop. And your volumetric is still down. Sound like you could use it. Maybe hit up Baz welder Faber to make you some suits. For the volumetric trucks. For spares. 👍 Keep dogged brother. You are a inspiration to many. 💪🇬🇧👍

Daniel, Love watching you progress from 1 yard too another. I'm in the middle of episode 207 and notice that the drivers footwell in the trucks is dirty and dusty. This because the drivers are in and out on sites. I'm the same. but I drive a fuel tanker. We have coconut mats in our footwells which keep the boots clean to an extent where at the end of the shift they can be taken out and beaten to knock all the mud and dust out. This would keep the footwells a bit cleaner.. Great video's. keep up the good work.
Daniel, congrats on getting your first train in the new yard! Keep up the positive thinking and continue to be grateful for all that you've accomplished. Cheers.
Trains in the yard …… so god damn cool , the long road, to trains in the yard has come to an end. BUT ………..the new road to trains in the yard indefinitely …….. has only just started 👌🏼😎😎😎
Daniel, worth thinking about, we use red cans for our petrol to distinguish between petrol and diesel. It has happened before that the wrong can was used. Love the show .
Just a thought, I believe UV light can encourage algae growth, so due to the clear tanks it will allow more growth, maybe cover/paint but still allowing a visual of the level
Great to see the effort you & staff put into the new yard, has turned a corner & starts to make money. I know you always have problems to sort out but not as many was when you started on the new yard . Chill out time but take your eye off the ball. Great TH-cam video.
But the good news there a train in the yard Daniel that one item off you todo list mate just one step at a time some good lucky must be coming you way fingers cross mate.👍👍👍👍

DANIELLLLLL don’t touch the headlight bulbs!! The oils from skin affect the quartz glass and it massively reduces lifespan.
or if you do, wipe them down with alcohol or wear gloves :)
