    I converted my bike last summer 2022 and use it to commute to work and other chores instead of driving. Riding my e-bike is so better than driving and dealing with idiot drivers on the road

    I have a janky bmx electric build and I wrap it up in see through plastic when it rains and shit lmao. It’s a fairly torque ebike though. Pretty sure it does 30mph, but I could never ride like this.
    I usually find a reason to start using my pedals more often. I only throttle when I need the quick burst of power and for climbing hills.

    From myy house to work its approximately 23miles both ways with, the average speed limits is about 35-40mph. Do these bikes get about 15 to 20 mile ranges off one fully charged battery?

    • @MayhemJRA
      @MayhemJRA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I have gone over 20 Miles on a Single Full charge as long as I stay in ECO mode (speed limited to 32mph) I use to take my charger with me in my backpack and charge my bike while at work, eventually I got a second charger to just leave one at work and one at home

    Your riding in the blind spot of every car you tagged along with, your not a smart rider and when a car turns in front of you, you will be the only one to blame.

      My camera is chest mounted so the perception is a little off, still I grew up in a state where lane splitting is legal so im probably a little more comfortable around cars, eye contact with drivers is a good tip to stay safe

    why do you keep riding in the cars blind spot? deathwish?

    • @MayhemJRA
      @MayhemJRA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My Camera is chest mounted so the perception is a little skewed, I change where I ride based off the cars visibility & drivers awareness. Where I live a Sur-Ron is still treated like an ebike so I typically need to ride in the bike lane.
      Also I commonly make eye contact with drivers in their mirrors if they use them :) and this helps a ton but can't happen with dark tinted windows :(

    This or a kepler 52v?

    • @MayhemJRA
      @MayhemJRA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Kepler 52v looks like good bike, but it depends on what kind of riding you want to do with the bike, the 52v Kepler with 20ah will give you a good amount of range especially if you pedal and help the bike out and the rack is really nice for packing a few things or a picnic basket, the Sur-Ron has a 32ah battery but you can’t pedal it really and is more intended for full off road riding like a dirt bike

    I switched out a car for an Ebike two years ago, and got hooked. This is an e motorcycle. No way should you be in a bike lane, side walk, or bike trails. Way too fast for what they are intended for. Stick to the roads designed for your traffic

    Do I need a license?

    • @MayhemJRA
      @MayhemJRA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If a license is required can vary depending on where you are in the US or another country. Where you are riding can also affect this. Are you riding out in the middle of nowhere or in a big congested city?
      If you plan to ride in the street with cars, I highly advise at the very least reading through a Drivers's-ED test guide book or something similar, so you know the rules and expectations of the vehicles on the road.

      @@MayhemJRA I live in Pennsylvania outside of Philly. Like suburbs and stuff and there's trails that go to Philly and stuff. I also would want to use it to get to work which is like 10-15mins away.
      I'm 17, 18 in 2 and 1/2 months. I plan on getting my license before I get the bike anyways, I was just curious if I would need a class M license. (Which I also plan on getting later down the road)

      @@MayhemJRA "...expectations of the vehicles on the road..."????
      Do you ride a bike on the street? If so I think you're not sane to say such a thing and you probably won't live very long.
      I love to ride my Priority Turi and I'm almost never in those insulting "bike lanes". Would you *_walk_* there?, 4 inches away from the drivers of cars and trucks? So why should I, on a bike, with no more protection than any pedestrian, ride my bike there? Not only that, but every flat tire I ever got, I got from picking up those ground up shards of glass that wind up getting bounced into the "bike lane" by the car tires; those lanes I rarely have to go through and still pick up flat tires.
      This guy likes to use his shortcuts, sidewalks through parks, bike lanes and grassy meadows, but when he gets out into traffic I cringe. Not only does he roll the dice with every pedestrian he passes at 25 mph not 1 foot away from them, but he rolls the dice over and over again with every car he gets near to on the road.
      In my town I frequently run into cops who see me on the sidewalks and I stop and chat with them. They NEVER tell me to get off the sidewalk. Matter-of-fact one pulled me over at night and asked if I knew why he was pulling me over. I said, "I know. I know. I'm on the sidewalk.", and he said, *"Actually no. **_I'd rather you use the sidewalk. I scrape too many people off the roads in those bike lanes where the drunks run over them._** No your taillight is out."* It was nighttime and my batteries for the taillight had gone dead.

      It’s like having an electric motorcycle (appealing factors include quietness, smooth/having no vibrations, less restricted areas, less complaints, little to no maintenance, not paying for fuel, etc.) but in a reduced form factor. Think of it as a cheaper, more beginner friendly electric motorcycle, and no so much as a pedal bike.
