I followed RobTop's tutorial and built a level exactly as he pictured it.

Thanks! Over the 9 months I've been creating ive improved significantly in both decoration and gameplay. Maybe one day I'll receive creator points. I don't intend for that to necessarily happen, however it's a welcome surprise if it does.

Well, for the beginning: Although I am not done yet with my first level, I can already say it's a long level, complete with theme, and I'm working on the deco right now. Could be a good thing, can also mean I have serious problems causing that I can't make anything short.

I have the layout down for my first too, now I need deco. It’s just about the same length as Electroman Adventures. (the song I used lol)
Only thing is idk how I’d decorate it. The theme is easing in (because it’s my first), and the gameplay steadily gets faster and more intense as it goes on.
I finished my level today. It's long, has some decoration but I'm still not happy with it :-:. I overused 1 block type and gameplay is kinda repeatative. If you wanna check it out it's called Buzzsaw Mania

In all fairness though, RobTop didn't make the tutorial essay. It was another user who simply had their tutorial added to the game, which explains why the writer stated that they had no idea what the magic tab did

*0:10* I can, with assurance, swear with my life that my first level wasn't what you described it as. It was a generic 1.0 level with semi-decent gameplay, grey background and if I recall correctly, Theory of Everything music that kind of synced. Still better than the recent tab I shall say.

Mine is called "HVQ" it's a pretty cool layour that the only thing was focused was the coins 💀 i didnt decorate it because i didnt play new levels and only played map packs and official levels :( btw my first demon was 2 years after i uploaded it lol
my first level was a shitty wave only thing where you just go up and down
My first level was : the first 3% is a portal pack then emptiness for like 40% and the rest was a portal pack then emptiness then portal pack again

My first level had blue background without decoration, but as part of a gimmick: it started off like a simple recent tab level, but transitions to a boss fight versus a clump of basic blocks, that interacts with the environment and the decorations
As a creator, this is very entertaining, But also very Infuriating to watch

Hold on bro, Robtop did not write that editor guide. There used to be an older one, he may have written than one idk, but this version was made by a bunch of mods since the old one was real outdated. And I think it's a daunting read, they need to make a cleaner one for 2.2

Btw this is how i learned how to use the geometry dash editor.i just found the help button and plus when i wanted to make a object move because the oder tutorials did not tell me the group id thing and the rest i self thought my self so thx rob.
I did made some levels, but even if layout is OK, I don't know how to use triggers, color channels, how to change BG color, etc.
I only know how to: type text in level, build, edit change the position with arrow buttons in edit session, Testmode, delete.
That is it.

the recent tab level was just a jump farm thing, like if u just held jump (while being under the block) it would add like 1 million jumps to ur total (u can see it from the main menu and u click the bars)
