North, can confirm the cardboard Killa-Kan was a real thing from back in the day. I think it came in the 2nd edition 40K box set along with a horde of Goff type Orks armed with bolters and axes
I actually watched an interview with Andy chambers where he mentioned that the other day 😂 I miss those days though that was like right as I was getting into the hobby as a kid
Can confirm the cardboard "Ork Dreadnought" was a thing in 2nd edition and I read online that it was recently used in a tournament! When put on the properly sized base, it still counts as a GW official model and can be fielded as a killa kan.
Last girl i dated had mostly guy friends. She was nothing but trouble and almost ruined my life. She was always on the phone with them, video chats, snap chat, etc. Most of my co workers are women and I couldn't even talk to them about work without it being an issue. I have a potential hobby nightmare about the whole situation i might write in one day.
Yeah they did plus cardboard walls and templates 2nd edition was great. Plus guides for making your own terrain and bit trays. It was a different if more fun time 😊
dude building the models is also my favorite i can feverishly build up huge armies that i always then struggle to paint through. same thing with 1/35 scale tank models i have a TUB of built ones ready to paint but really need an airbrush for the bigger ww2 scale models
had an experience at a games workshop where the staff were so horrible to me, I was new to the whole setting and didnt know much about it as my friend was trying to get me invested (You son of a bitch it worked) he was telling me about the factions in a sort of brief rundown, like Blood Angels, Primarch Sanguinius, naenae'd by horus before big E was like "Yeah nah fuck ya" I was making jokes about the factions and stuff and comparing them to other things I'm interested in, the exact words or what i said escapes me but I was just having a laugh with my mate, when these rectums of staff members started collectively losing the plot like I was "On purpose getting the lore wrong" like that even matters, just said I was having a laugh with my mate because I know nothing of the setting and I'm comparing it to other stuff, they had a huge hissy fit and started telling me to shut up and that I wasnt funny, saying I was bastardising their favourite thing, I just couldn't believe the Gatekeeping nerd culture Warhammer and similar games breed, these people are obviously outliers and the overwhelming majority of people I've met in the hobby have been some of the nicest people ever, always willing to help me understand what the fuck is actually going on, ended up telling them to stick their overpriced plastic up their shitholes and never returned to that store, Didnt stop collecting though, Currently have a Primaris Ultramarine army and a rather large Necron army, several squads of skitarii (bought the start collecting box before I realised skitarii are like FUCKED expensive) and a small detachment of Cadian Guard.
There was indeed a cardboard Ork dreadnought in the second edition of 40k. There was also a cardboard Ork wryven in the contemporary fantasy starter set.
I think the 'open marriage discussion' is a bad take. It opens up a can of worms and closing it can be a challenge. It is kinder to say something like "look, you put on weight and I have a difficult time getting it up, I would leave you rather than cheat on you and if I am the one financing this life we live I need a woman whom I want to serve sausage to so fix it or we can part ways" than to create a situation where you may appear weak by being willing to let her sleep with someone else. If you look weak she will lose respect for you, and when she loses respect for you then she will lose her attraction for you as much as you would for her gaining weight. The thing is, men are demonized for why they lose attraction to their women whereas women try to justify their infidelity/mistakes using their reasons for losing attraction to their men; there is no reason women deserve synoathy for their reasons more than men do (especially if they aren't the breadwinner).
calling everyone stupid is perhaps not an actual problem in 99% of interactions, just mean thing to do. It becomes a problem if he calls stupid someone depressed triggering self-deletion.
Platonic male and female friendships is a funny one. I have one close female friend but would never be alone with her outside of work, mostly so my wife never has to worry, also because of the small chance of anything stupid happening and finally because I wouldn't accept that from my wife if she had a guy friend. Guess what? That girl ended up becoming fuck buddies with a lad in our group, causing his relationship to end and those two friends to now hate each other when he moved on to someone who wasn't her. Wouldn't happen in my other main friend group which is just guys.
Tbh was always good to have a minimum painted standard in store games (outside of new purchases on the day). Used to be undercoat and 2 colours.. not a great chore to get a little on the units especially with the number of figures needed in 2nd ed play.
"95% percent of women I have been with" - it takes a large number of women to be able to state claim 95%. Some of use can only choose between 0%, 50% and 100% :) And I can't even pick 50% (not that I complain as I married her ) :)
26:00 I hate building and painting so I regularly buy painted model and pay a little extra, but only if they are good painted. Im in it for the playing. I'm always open about not painting my models
I'm surprised you haven't heard of the cardboard ork dreadnought from the 2nd ed boxed set, it's pretty iconic! It's not a 'model' as such, but a flat cardboard cut out with artwork of the dread, mounted on a circular base.
I would disagree about the girl w/no female friends, buuuttt..... had a fwb that lived in a different province. She was fun to be with on a once in a while basis. But wtf, TRAINWRECK with a capital train. Her poor life choices eventually led to her end. She would frequently brag about having only guy friends. I, who also make poor life choices, generally expect a red flag or two in my female partners, so I can agree with your assessment. Also, as someone whose poor life choices have resulted in a passing familiarity with various motorcycle enthusiasts, Chinese fraternal comittees, indigenous support groups and the like, I can say that, almost without exception, such people are not going to risk their security and freedom over some bs relationship drama. Normal, law abiding dudes frequently will though, as members of the constabulary can attest. Im in Canada, so maybe it's different across the pond though. Can also confirm cardboard killa can, both from pix and second hand from the dude who sold me an incomplete 2nd edition 40k and 4th(I think) ed wfb starter boxes. Polyamoury, much like communism, works much better in theory than in practice and should never involve kids. Tbh, while I don't have kids, I've been with a few women with kids and it's always tricky. Like, major commitment to being life partner tricky, so anyone who casually brings kids Into it is a pos. This has been your January 2023 unsolicited relationship advice from me. Thanx
The Killa Kan isn't a thing anymore?? That was my first ever model My mom agreed to buy me one figure per A on my report card. I picked out a killa kan Cut my finger trying to paint it 😅
Really curious if games workshop still does not allow games in stores today. My local games workshop is where I get most of my games in. They have several tables, themed terrain. They actively encourage us to get games in And act as referees when needed. Hearing story after story about games workshop not allowing games and Discouraging open discussion Is very weird and alien to me. Is this still going on today? Or am I just lucky enough to be Close to a store like this?
At one point just after Necromunda was released GW in their wisdom decided that all bases had to be painted grass green. That was regardless of what game system you were playing. Needless to say after the staff all kicked off at this rule as did many customers, it didn't last long.
My local GW Store is awesome, there is always people playing and the staff will shoot the shit with you all day long. Where are people finding these terrible stores you people keep finding?

Yeah it did and was shit.

Correct, 2nd edition 40K had cardboard Killa Kan. I loved that art. I still have it but it's not been on the table for almost 30 years. 👍
I still have mine!
It wasn't a killa-kan, those didn't exist then. It was an 'ork dreadnought' ie. what is now called a deff dread.

Same
That stance on the women with all guy friends is one of the things the red pill got right
Imo the only thing they got wrong is blaming women for promiscuity and rejecting monogamy.
Yeah they did plus cardboard walls and templates 2nd edition was great. Plus guides for making your own terrain and bit trays. It was a different if more fun time 😊
My mates and I always enjoy a game of second Ed. Really good for home games.
The cardboard dreadnought was in the second edition 40k set. The one after rogue trader.
It was quite literally an illustration of a dreadnought on a flat piece of card that fit onto a small stand base 😆
@docthefaust4519 So basically, the pogs/tokens used for Pathfinder today?
@@theophrastusbombastus1359 I dunno that

The more I listen to you, the more I hear Lister from Red Dwarf.
I think that's a good thing.
Hello fellow Red Dwarf fan.

Men and women can't be friends unless they are family.

If she loves someone else it'll only matter if she acts on it. You can't help your feelings, but you can choose how to act on them.
Yes 2nd ed box has the cardboard killa kan I can confirm 😂
Perfect timing, I have a long bus journey home 😎

If the story about city planner is to be believed it could very well be real civil engineer. I love watching his content from time to time.
I agree i dated a sheffield lass now i wish rogal dorn could build a imperial wall other leeds to block me from that shit. 🤣
I have that card killa Kan! It looks like a coaster.

Second edition 40k had an cardboard orc dreadnought it could be purchased from argos back then
At one point just after Necromunda was released GW in their wisdom decided that all bases had to be painted grass green. That was regardless of what game system you were playing. Needless to say after the staff all kicked off at this rule as did many customers, it didn't last long.
The solution is to tell your girl what you like and then ask her the same when you reciprocate. How many guys give crap head? Communication?
Games Workshop stores started going downhill back in 2009...they have only gotten worse through the years - sad.
Incredibely based when it comes to relationship advice

They also had cardboard mega gargant for epic!
The Policy was painted AND flocked. This was around 1997/8.
Wow an ex-GW worker and doesn't know about the carboard killa can LOL
I enjoy these vids, but for the love of everything good in this world don't take relationship advice from North.
Yet again
Another northern exile video where he goes off into a tangent about sex.
Yet he’ll virtue signal about it being a wholesome channel etc.
