2016 is and will most likely be the greatest year of the game. However, I was pleasantly surprised at this years global go fest. Yes, I did have to travel 40 minutes to a D1 university, but there were easily 1000+ people out. Every raid had 10+ groups of 20 people waiting to get in. And it was the first time in a while I got that 2016 feel. Very excited for Halloween, Christmas, and the 2024 Sinnoh Tour!
One of the best moment I had is everyone was running to get Dragonite, Lapras and Charizard near the beach. It was crazy, everyone was happy to get it. This was back in 2016. But then I remembered, I had a small park near by my home. It had a Dratini spawn. Nobody knew it, may a few 4-5 (like me) walked around and waited for each spawn. And then it got posted. Boom! There are like 200 people walking around to catch dratini in the park. It was surreal.
As someone who has been playing since 2016, I really miss 2020 Pokémon Go. I live in a very small town (1 Pokéstop, 1 Gym). I had a blast playing in 2020, and now I'm back to playing every once in a while.
I'd like to see an "evolution of weekly/daily research" video. We used to get some amazing mons from the rewards. I'm pretty sure I got both my shiny Darkrai from the weekly
Awesome video. Did I miss the beginning of go battle league and trading? The first Pokémon go invitational was pretty awesome. AR aspects are also pretty revolutionary. November cosmetic map change. Background music features. ROUTES!!
I’ve been an OG of this game since day 3 of the release of pogo and I just want to say thanks mystic for posting so regularly for our entertainment, I’ve watched almost all your videos even when I stopped playing for a while!
i started pokemon go july 2016 sadly i lost my old acc and my second acc which i use right now is from october 2016 these years we’re just incredible i would do anything to play pokémon go once again in 2016-2019 that game was just a masterpiece
Been playing since Day 1. Not gonna lie, 2020 & 2021 were peak years. However, the game's had a pretty big drop off in 2022 and 2023. I'll probably stay active as I have a goal to get every Mega Evolution but there's little incentive to keep playing these days beyond that.
I've only been playing since June 2019 so didn't get to experience the game before that but I've found this year to be good as I've seen since the covid restrictions have lifted & things are going to a new normal more & more people have been getting more involved with in person events more regularly like raid hour & com day
I started playing on July 12, 2016 and still playing. Made legendary 40 and still chugging along towards level 45. I'm just addicted to catching Pokémon, lol.
Today is actually my 7 year anniversary of starting Pokémon Go Started 9/5/2016 Level 39 740 different Pokémon in the dex 12 4 stars 1 shiny 4 star 101 shines
My most memorable moment is hanging out at an outdoor mall with my wife back in the first year when all of a sudden a gloom appears on the nearby list and a master of about fifty people just started to run toward it. One kid yells "I've been training for this my whole life!" Good times. Good times.
2023 so far. I started playing in 2021, but I played the global GO fest this year and caught 2 Shiny Rayquazas back to back. Rayquaza has always been my favorite Pokémon and never had a shiny before so I don’t think I’ll ever beat that lol
I understand i lost a lot of different things. I satarted in 16 but i have break from 17 to 18 and then play 19 and 20 and then i started a few days ago again
I remember the good old days of 2016 and 2017… A Beedrill, Kingdra, and Magmar are in my storage from 2016. And a lot more from 2017. I joined on the release month in 2016, I remember doing every single event, taking time off the game, and so much more. I really miss those days… 😢 Niantic should bring back Pokémon GO 2016 for April fools 2024…
1:08 and I remember it... If only I didn't ****ing transfer them. 1:44 ah... 2:05 I remember after the school day ended, and then gen 2 mons released. Though pretty sure I stopped playing for awhile.... At least didn't play it often. 5:16 I think I slightly remember it... 6:53 I forgot the Hp and stuff was at the top back then. 7:07 I remember. Or maybe a different year. 7:24 not really. 8:57 What do you mean?!?? I never knew that. 9:33 This was a thing?? I think I started to play alot more again in late 2020. 11:06 That last one.... Is going to be near impossible for me. 12:02 I remember this well. 13:02 Never found that Dragonair for the collection challenge.
Hey mystic I just got a shiney and Hundo lechonk and literally shaking so much I just screamed whe I saw the Hundo the the next research I clicked on it was a shiney now I want a Shundo lechonk😅
I've always slightly hated the game after Gen 2. I CANNOT tell you how much I DESPISE the randomness of them rolling pokemon out. Should be in order, FULL GEN AT ONCE! I still hate raids with a passion since you can't do them at night, even though you could in Niantics Harry Potter game.
Controversial Opinion: The Mr Mime event was a good event. I still use the mime pose. Noncontroversial Opinion: The Ed Sheeran event should have featured a Pikachu with Ed Sheeran hair.
I messed up by evolving my shiny Pikachu with surf. Didn't realize it would lose the move at the time. However I still have the team mystic bag I won at the local meet up that day.
This is mine 7° anniversary (but i lost my first account…and now i have a new one) - start 9/4/2019 - catches 4500+ - lv.34 - shiny 114 - Pokedex: 491 HAPPY 7° ANNIVERSARY TO ALL 🎉
Is it just me or did 2016 hit different? I feel like everyone could relate to you because pokemon go was so widespread at that time. I even got hooked on the game and I was really young.
This video showed me how far the game has gone. And also that I made the right decision to quit at end of 2016 and come back Dec'22. The graphics were so bad and I'm glad features like field research and raids are here already. Still hoping for a chance to catch up to you OG players tho 😁
I just wish they’d make the game fair for rural players… never able to get raid Pokémon. Why not make the lobbies global? Why do I need to try and find 6 other people in Texas to go out and find a raid? Game still punishes people not in populated areas and drive them to spoof in order to have same level of play as others.
The Hear Us Niantic suffers from a bad name. of course they hear you but that doesn't mean they are gonna fix anything. it should be called Fix It Niantic or something like that.

Same this year was great
I was in Venice Italy this year and it was AMAZING every stop had a lure. You could also see people playing in raids
Yeah...
Honestly I felt the same. Went to the local mall and there were so many people out it felt like the old days!
I didn't go, but I keep hearing it was "surprisingly good" and people had fun etc. despite setbacks, I think things are looking up.
Can’t believe I’ve been playing this game for 7 whole years!!! Honestly a top 5 game despite all the bad updates
Same.
One of the best moment I had is everyone was running to get Dragonite, Lapras and Charizard near the beach. It was crazy, everyone was happy to get it. This was back in 2016. the history of pokemon go is truly amazing, i remember grinding pidgey back in the day
WtH SAME NOW HES SO RARE
MAKE PIDGEY GREAT AGAIN
It was insane for the first few months, that's why my 100% 2016 Pidgeot is still my prize possession.
As someone who has been playing since 2016, I really miss 2020 Pokémon Go. I live in a very small town (1 Pokéstop, 1 Gym). I had a blast playing in 2020, and now I'm back to playing every once in a while.

Got my 100% groudon from it and all my legendary dogs too
Damn it’s crazy I’ve been playing this game for 7 years
I just started playing PoGO again after playing last 2016. I am really sad that I just missed the Diancie event, my favorite mythical pokemon. :(
Bro you had 2 entire opportunities like 2 weeks ago that's on you
@@washurbrik2848 Well, I totally have no knowledge about what's going on with PoGo until I started playing just a few days ago.
@@washurbrik2848 Dude.
Just got back to playing the game since 2016 and damn there are so many changes. The game is far more exciting now.
same man i got hard into a couple months ago.. all the old mons u got keep!!! you are guarenteed a lucky trade if there from 2016
by keep i mean dont transfer for candy lol
Awesome video. Did I miss the beginning of go battle league and trading? The first Pokémon go invitational was pretty awesome. AR aspects are also pretty revolutionary.
November cosmetic map change. Background music features. ROUTES!!
anyone else notice that he was with the dangie bros in one of the clips 1:14 thats crazy that they knew each other.
9:05 Shiny Happiny, I love this Pokémon SO MUCH
I’ve been an OG of this game since day 3 of the release of pogo and I just want to say thanks mystic for posting so regularly for our entertainment, I’ve watched almost all your videos even when I stopped playing for a while!

I started In 2019 and got the shiny Christmas pikachu

Right now is the most fun I've ever had playing!
Today is actually my 7 year anniversary of starting Pokémon Go
Started 9/5/2016
Level 39
740 different Pokémon in the dex
12 4 stars
1 shiny 4 star
101 shines
Just came back July 27th, Haven’t played Since 2016, just In time for Go fest, Game has been super Fun
My most memorable moment is hanging out at an outdoor mall with my wife back in the first year when all of a sudden a gloom appears on the nearby list and a master of about fifty people just started to run toward it. One kid yells "I've been training for this my whole life!"
Good times. Good times.

2020 was incredible for the ones who didn’t lock down. Shit was poppin.
Not to mention that pokemon go on it's first day wasn't expecting a very high player base which caused problems with the servers
I still have nightmares of the 1st comday with Pikachu, grinding my ass off for 3h to find 0 shinies
god, its been 7 years already!!? i was 6 when this game came out, and ive been playing on and off for the entire time
Can’t believe you recorded this two months ago and just posted it in September
Def wish I had played when it first came out. DL’ed it, but never opened, lol. 2020 sounded amazing, too.
Mystic I didn’t hear you talk about when legendary Pokémon were available in the research box. Good times man.
Cool recap. Kanto Tour was the best event I played.
That was a great video! Brings back a lot of great memories! Thanks for the upload!
quit in 2018 and just came back, crazy how people frowned upon spoofing but now there's remote raids
Who remembers that guy in the clip at 1:14? I can’t remember his name but I used to love his clash of clans vids
Only play in 2016 for like 3 months and never play it ever again😂
I understand i lost a lot of different things. I satarted in 16 but i have break from 17 to 18 and then play 19 and 20 and then i started a few days ago again
Brilliant vid. So many memories! Great work!
This game would be actually perfect if the battle system was like that of the gameboy games.
Oh man. Great job. So much nostalgia!
Also wow the amount of time editing this video too must have been insane!
@@MtgJediyeah it was prob 3-2 months of editing since he said he recorded this on july.
A updating video for returning players this year would be 🔥
The "over-shaded" effect being gone is a blessing. Game looks so gorgeous now.
Personal favorite was when armored Mewtwo was in EX raids I wish it wood come back for the shiny release along with the clones
I miss the old times where you can catch legendary pokemon really easy.
I still remember hatching my shiny witch hat pichu in 2018
The first year of pokemon go was a very good year, everyone was out, happy and its gone downhill
Bro 2016 was so fun in the netherlands people where running on the beach for wild alakazam
I remember the good old days of 2016 and 2017… A Beedrill, Kingdra, and Magmar are in my storage from 2016. And a lot more from 2017. 7:24 not really.
8:57 What do you mean?!?? I never knew that.
9:33 This was a thing??
I think I started to play alot more again in late 2020.
11:06 That last one.... Is going to be near impossible for me.
12:02 I remember this well.
13:02 Never found that Dragonair for the collection challenge.
me watching pokemon go history ❌
me watching how mystic grows over the year ✅
Hey mystic I just got a shiney and Hundo lechonk and literally shaking so much I just screamed whe I saw the Hundo the the next research I clicked on it was a shiney now I want a Shundo lechonk😅
I've always slightly hated the game after Gen 2. I CANNOT tell you how much I DESPISE the randomness of them rolling pokemon out. Should be in order, FULL GEN AT ONCE! I still hate raids with a passion since you can't do them at night, even though you could in Niantics Harry Potter game.
the quality of your videos is unmatched
I’d be glad to play this game for another 20 years
Great watching us and Go changes from day1 to today.
We just saw mystic grow up without realising
The evolution of Pokemon Go is very nice. Thanks very much for this video
Start date 7-11-2016
Wow this is a great documentary on Pokémon go
Man we actually grew up with pokemon go after these years
Dope video bro. Way to takes us back in time.

My favorite event was the squirtle squad comm day from a few years ago
1:14 you can see the dangie bros before they created there channel
man how the days in 2016 were just un repeatable, unmatched times
The Hundo cp is 314 just to let you now
I played a few of these years by myself, so some were good and some weren't so fun
Bit late with your videos lately as we’ve had the Go Fests but otherwise very thorough
I love your vids mystic keep going your awesome
April 2020 was peak pokemon go
Is it just me or did 2016 hit different? I feel like everyone could relate to you because pokemon go was so widespread at that time. I even got hooked on the game and I was really young.

Yoooooooooo I loved to see the journey so far and I’m loving seeing it grow
This is amazing video
At 7:29 you said it was your last time in japan but how about poke fest 2023 in osaka
Man its been a journey

this is insane! we've come a long way
No
Your not the real one your getting reported
They need to redo a community day classic I didn’t catch it
Here’s the easy annual retelling of the game’s history for the 7th time
Edit: This one was a bit varied from the last ones so it’s aight
No mention of elite raids? The release of Hoopa unbound outside of research and the 2 new Regi pokemon?
I love your videos i just got out of school and checked you account to see if you made a new video
So September isn’t the exact 7 year anniversary, and this has to be the 6th different video this year you’ve posted about this
Im noticing you post this same video every month😂
It's was so beautiful the first years 🥹
Can't believe 7 years... wth am i doing with my life...
