Ok I had to come back and say thank you! After watching your video, I decided to try blending 6006 and soy, as I wasn't fully happy with both of them individually. Looks promising! Also, I don't know why I didn't think of this, but cleaning everything with the heat gun + hot water... what a game changer. It feels a lot cleaner now wow!! Big thanks :)

Those wax soaked paper towel make a great fire starter. I use to roll each paper towel and then twist them. Store in a ziplock bag. Then when I go camping I have nice fire starters

I loved it. I never made candles before. I felt like I was watching a documentary on it. The one time you mentioned “repetitive”(pouring hot water), really wasn’t at all.

Sometimes my cleanup at the end of the day is draining. I’m tired by then and it would be so easy to just leave it until the morning. But by then everything is hardened and triple the effort, so I do this. And it is a bit time consuming but it’s nice to start each day with a clean work area and clean tools. I get a lot of questions on my cleanup so I went into more detail on this video on that. Thank you for watching.

this is the best candle video I have watched - can you tell me if you have tried pouring your fragrance at a high temp VS the low temp - which worked better thank you so much!!
Aw Thank you so much for this comment. This is exactly why I do this 🥰 So with THIS blend I heat to 180 on my Digiboil, but I set it to 176, I don’t know why it’s off but 176 gives me 180 from the tap. And I do not always empty it each day. Some days are small batch pour days and so I just turn it off when I’m finished. Re-heat next day, as long as I don’t leave it on and burn it, which I can’t do on the Digiboil, but you sure can in a double boiler, it’s always fine. I never put any additives in, no FO, no coloring, no Vybar, no Coconut Oil. Just wax. In fact I don’t even mix my blends in one Digiboil. I have four Digiboils with their own designated wax. All my blending occurs after the pour. Hope that helps with that question. Now onto FO and temps. With THIS blend I heat to 180, add FO at 145-150 and pour at around 130. This works great for me. I’ve done all other ways and this is our method for all pours with the soy paraffin blend. I was struggling with sinkholes with IGI6006, by mixing it with C3 and cooling before I pour, I get a great candle with smooth tops.
Now with my C3, I don’t even use a thermometer anymore. Heat to 170, Digiboil set to 165, and I just pour, add FO, stir full two minutes and pour. No waiting, no temp checks. And it’s perfect every time.

Great video. You’re the first maker I’ve seen pour your fragrance at that low temp. I’m curious how you found that works rather then pouring the fragrance in at 180’ish?
Thanks Jeff 😊 I tested 10 degrees at a time starting at 180 as suggested, I set my Digiboil to 176, this gets it to around 180, and breaks those molecules down. I found my candles get strongest HT and CT if I add the FO around 145-150 (I see I didn’t show that in the video, I only talk about pour temp). I POUR around 128-132. Once I add my FO, it quickly clouds over and reduces the temp to my desired pour temp. The reason for the test was the thought the higher temp (180) was burning off my FO, and after much searching I found the Alex Method (this is for soy but I thought I’d try it with my soy/paraffin blend) and this produces really strong candles for me.
Heat to 180 ~ add FO between 145-150 ~ STIR A FULL TWO MINUTES to really bind that FO to melted wax molecules ~ pour between 128-132.
This wax is a blend of 6006 and C3, I have four Digiboils. Two are C3 only, one is 6006 only, this third one is the blend. It’s a small amount of paraffin which produces a harder wax plus a stronger scent than straight C3, and a creamier finish than just 6006.

I've been reviewing several candle companies on the temp to pour fragrance. You are both 128f-134f. I always thought fragrance should be poured at 185f, as per Black Tie Barn & Standley!
You're correct, that is a correct temp BUT with the blend I use, I tried it at a lower temp and got GREAT results so thought I'd share. At the end of the day, go with your gut. Thank you for watching.

Hmmmm... just thinking, You could have a big canning pot with very hot water on standby and put your jugs in the hot water as soon as you pour.
Interested and intrigued to start making candles, and just wondering if your chart for scent - wax percentage chart is a general formula used in candle making or that of your own device.
It's midnight Sunday June 16, you said that you had a downloadable fragrant chart so I went immediately to your website and yay somebody in Alberta Canada yet but I kind of knew that when you have boxes of uline candles jars because there is nowhere else to buy anything but I tried to do that down pay for it and do it twice so I hope I didn't get hit my credit card twice and what did the the wallet the wallet mean what is the wallet anyways the wallet at the couch thing now has 10 bucks in it I hope that isn't my credit card I don't know I'll try again tomorrow... I'm going to go listen to the rest of the video.

Do you mind if I ask the percent blend you use. I've tried C-3 and IGI 6006 and both have things I do and dont like but am very interested in the blend you are using. If you would rather keep that to yourself I completely understand, I was just curious. Either way thank you so much for this video. I has alot of good information for us new people. Thank you again.
Oh I don’t mind at all. I blend 50/50, which results in approximately 65/35 blend.
IGI6006 is 70% Paraffin/30% soy
C3 is 100% Soybean wax
Equal volumes of C3 and IGI would reduce Parafin by 50%. Therefore Parafin in the total mixture is 70% x 50% = 35% Parafin and 65% Soy. It’s a nice blend.

at the start you shown yourself labelling the bottom of each jar and then turning them all over one by one so you can fill them, wouldn't it be more efficient to seal the bottom of the box and just flip the box over?

I’ve never seen anyone pour in the fragrance oil at such a low temperature 😱 have you noticed a difference in scent throw when u pour it at 120-130 instead of 165-185?

I love the neat top part of the candle, my wax usually cracks or breaks or tiny tunnel is formed. Is it the temperature of the wax?
Oh I’m sorry, I missed this question. I’ve had that happen as well, I believe it might be the room temp. It’s nothing a heat gun can’t fix. It could also be the temperature you’re pouring at. Have you tried changing a few things?

I was thinking what's the point of that fancy wick centering tool for the bottom when the wicks are all crooked on top than you pulled out those centering tops........I enjoyed making molded candles as a kid, I remember we had a Toad, Owl, Mushroom and also some geometric shapes.
The tool is simply to hold up the wicks. It’s not a centering tool. I always center my wicks after they harden, then heat the tops with a heat gun 😊

Hmmm...I've never checked. I just buy off Amazon and LOVE IT. I don't have a very steady hand and needed to come up with a better plan. This worked PERFECTLY.
