Hah, that's so true of Gilmour and Waters both. They always dress like they are raking leaves. They both must have a closet full of Hanes black t-shirts.

He taught me how to play the guitar. I’d sit on the floor with my cd play on my left and my amp on the right. I’d listen to 5-10seconds and pause and just try to copy that 5seconds worth. And I did that until I learned to read tab. But at 13 I seen them at the dean dome in chapel hill 86/87. I only went because I was told I could smoke weed. And then was blown away.

Pink Floyd's Pulse performances of Sorrow, Comfortably Numb, and High Hopes; along with Led Zep's live Celebration Day performance of Kashmir are all Live Perfection. Nobody will ever match these two groups...never.

The Sounds that David Gilmour can get out of a guitar are totally off the chain! Been a huge fan since forever ago (I'm 63) and never get tired of their
music. Thank you for exposing the younger generation to this awesome music, Bre. It's helped me through some really dark, depressing times over
    the years. 🌟💫💛

I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know, and I know all the great ones.

I have been following Pink Floyd for so long now...so bloody long that I recall a concert with Chuck Berry that went so well, the stage director had to get on the mike and tell people that they had to leave the auditorium in order for Pink Floyd to do their concert that evening...and people just refused to leave ( for quite a while ! ) I can only guess at 1968 or so...I am happy to be old...I got to see so many things !!! LOL !

Just so amazing how great music can be when the right musicians get together. Putting out an Album that spent over 900 weeks on the top music chart is a testament to their ability at making music with a ridiculously long shelf life. The solo toward the end of this piece is simply extraordinary and outstanding. Those of us who were lucky enough to witness the combined talents of Pink Floyd in concert will never forget it!

Pink Floyd, hits a different spot in the soul. Happy to see you feeling that, many don't. They have a gentle urgency and a peaceful message that buries itself inside you.

When I was a teenager, the release of a new Floyd album was an EVENT! I remember how, every 2 years, I would wait for my local record shop to open that morning, grab my copy of the new album, take it home and listen to it obsessively until I knew every word and every note. I've seen them live 5 times and, in the words of David Gilmour, "It's not enough, it's not enough! " David recently said he's working on new music so I'm very hopeful there's a new album coming and, if he tours that, I'll sell my house and everything I own to sed him as many times as possible. The man is a God.

We'll never get another Gilmour tour (at least, I very much doubt we will!), so I am so happy that I got to see him live in 2006, 2015 and 2016. Pompeii 2016 is a superb concert. Sometimes you see aging musicians and think they should have given up years ago. Gilmour shows that he is just as good now as he was 40 years ago (maybe his voice is a little bit more rough now, but it still holds up well).

The man is in his 70s for Pompeii and is as powerful as he was for Pulse. You should do a reaction to his performance any of the songs.from Pompeii. They perform many of the songs from Pulse. Gilmour is a guitar God! He could put out an album of nothing but instrumentals and it would go platinum.

I think that you should go around to everyone reacting to Floyd for the first time (or at least in the early stages) and introduce PF this same way, editing as necessary, depending on year/album/concert, of course. I'm afraid this was their last tour, 1994. Since then one of them has passed on - keyboardist Richard Wright. Gilmour is in his mid 70's now. Whether he has the appetite to do it one last time, either solo or with Floyd, is a question many Floyd fans are wondering. Certainly this virus thing hasn't helped any.

Here's a nice story that I found out recently. The two black back up singers are sisters, apparently. Durga McBroom, (I think on the right), put out her own single. Both Richard Wright (original keyboard player) and Gilmour, one of the best guitarists ever (obviously), both donating their time, talent and inspiration to her single, for free no less. Storm Thorgerson also made her video, also donated. He's been w/ Pink Floyd forever as their artwork designer. The super iconic Dark Side of the Moon album cover was done by Thorgerson.

Yet Waters treated Richard like just a hired musician. I know who I have more respect for as a musician and a human being, and it’s not RogerWaters. RIP Richard Wright.
