  • The Chicago Bears defeated the Carolina Panthers 16-13 on Thursday Night Football. The Bears are now 2-2 without Justin Fields and hold the No. 1 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft (thanks to a win and the initial D.J. Moore-Panthers trade). Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and James Jones debate whether Fields still has a future in Chicago or not.

If CHI has the No1 and No2 pick, they could make serious improvements in the draft. Trade that No2 pick to a team around pick 10-15, and get a absolute haul of picks. And use them for a WR, OL or TE.

Justin is IN his 3rd year, he hasn't played 3 yet.
Year 1: 3-4 defense, HC & GM on hotseat, team president retiring, half the roster is checked out.
Year 2: switch to 4-3 defense, rookie GM-HC-OC, complete rebuild begins, 20+ players are rookies or 1yr contracts, journeymen in & superstar talent out, owner accepting president title temporarily, receivers last in yds of separation whole season, receivers lead league in drops half the season.
Year 3(currently): new team president, 20+ more new players, one of the youngest teams in league, Year 2 of complete rebuild, OC is a clear issue through 2 QBs, Shady still mad about something in Cabo

You just laid it out perfectly. Team after 3 years is finally starting to gel and Justin has played his best football in his last 2 games. I don't think it's a coincidence. Everyone is getting better. Justin will continue to play at a high level and next year he will have Marvin Harrison and another stud tackle.

This is wild to me. Rookie year, he could have been better but team wasn’t good. 2nd year- team was worse & didn’t have WR. 3rd season while only playing 6 games & finally with a #1 WR he threw more TD passing & less INT than he did his rookie year playing 12 games. & he was on pace to have more yards, TDs, & Completion percentage than he did the first two years. So he is proving he is better. Why would you give up on that.

This was nothing but a character assassination. A lot of the games the Bears lost were not because of Fields. Yes he has his faults but last I checked football is a team game. Last season the Bears had a stretch of games where they were putting up 25+ points per game.....and the defense was giving up 30+ per game. I love how no one talks about that little detail. That would be a major steal. Yet, what we are seeing with the Falcons is the quarterback not familiar with his receiver type issues. Basically to say it more simply, they need to play basketball with each other so the quarterback being the point guard will learn how to get the ball to the shooter/receiver and tight end. Just because they are covered doesn't mean you can't throw them the ball and get it out sooner before the rush get's there but timing does take time to come to fruition...

If I owned the Bears I'm lookin at the staff. Specifically the OC and the QB coach. I want to know if the offensive scheme was built around Fields and his strengths OR are they trying to mold Fields into their scheme? More often than not with these young QBs it's the latter and that's why they struggle. That and personnel change I.E different coaches every single year. Of course the overall roster has a lot to do with it too. If the O line sucks any QB is going to struggle.

Right or Wrong, the Bears' coaching staff made a decison to focus on improving Justin Fields' ability to read defenses, make quicker reads/decisions and be more comfortable staying in the pocket.
Fields has not proven to this point that he can develop into a Lamar Jackson type of QB. A QB that can be a reliable dual threat QB.
He doesn't win games. He doesn't have the knack or ability to effectively close out games or win games on last minute drives. They should trade him.

He had Matt Nagy for 2 years and no real offensive weapons until we got Dj Moore last year. Was he suppose to throw the ball to himself the first 3 years? The Bears defense was at the bottom of the league so the time of possession always went to the opposing teams. They ran on us all day and kept it out of his hands. Justin Fields has had objectively bad coaching and objectively bad management. It’s probably time for them to move on but I don’t think any QB can change that kind of dysfunction up there. I'll say the same here that with the way both organizations are run. Fields should see how things can go once you go elsewhere. As for the bears. They seem to ruin QBs anyway. So idk. Also. Last year there were at least 5 games Justin and the offense put up 25+ points but the Bears defense gave up 30+ points and 3 for the majority of the start of this yr the Offensive line has been down 3 to 4 starters in all of the 1st 5 games this yr...the defense has been missing 6 starters and lastly Tyson Bagent did absolutely nothing in those 2 wins he had zero tds and passed for 150yrds..the won because the Bears finally have a healthy Offensive line and defense which they did not have for the 1st 5 games of the season..otherwise Justin would probably have a winning record this yr.
